I suggest the largest exchanges. You can take your pick from here http://bitcoincharts.com/charts/volumepie/
fake data mostly

If you can give me sufficient reason to believe that this data is fake I will stop believing it (and quoting it or referring to it).
Thanks

What would people recommend as a good alternative to bitstamp for someone depositing funds from the UK preferably in GBP?

I've looked at Kraken and coinfloor so seeking people's experiences of these and other sites and what they think the best alternative to bitstamp for UK traders will now be?

Thanks advance.

I would highly recommend Kraken, and you can also trust to use BTC-E.
Kraken is pretty reputed and their founder can be trusted.

Kraken is my personal favourite exchange, though I use it from the Eurozone. Their Eurozone fiat-transfers (SEPA) are as fast as they could be and their customer service works great too. A potential downside might be the low volume, but if you don't plan on trading very actively this shouldn't be an issue.

You could try btc-e obviously and then bit-x, although i have a signature campaign and im promoting them, i've seen the site and looks well, try it and post your experience here.

Thanks Reynaldo I will look into them both.
