Well, I did a calculation some times ago when the pools hashrate where at ~100PH.
But now you cleared it up, wich is good for all people that might use the pool with low hashrate.
Would be nice to supply those numbers from time to time for new useres.
Even at 100PH, dust per block would still only be around 1TH before the halving, not 200TH.
Now after the halving 100PH would set dust around 2TH.

Difficulty makes no difference, only the block reward vs the pool size.
So the calculation is simple.

But it makes no difference now, the pool has a proper accounting system I've written and implemented that shows your balances.

I guess if we ever get back up to multiple blocks a week (or a day) I'll even add a weekly/monthly balance payout so anyone who earns more than dust in a month of blocks will, at least, get a payout each month.

The dust figure (0.0001 BTC) is related to bitcoin and it's limitations.
If you send transaction with amounts smaller than that in any output, the transaction may never be confirmed due to the default relay settings in core bitcoin (though I must admit I've not checked that recently, it may be an extra digit lower now?)

False information - I wonder why he stated it?
Of course any amount above dust, 0.0001 BTC, mined on my pool will get paid out EVERY time we find a block.
Dust at the moment would be 128GHs which is ... quite a lot lower than your false information.

Or you could run it on kano.is for a normal pplns pool.

Running a miner with less then 200 TH is not worth moving to kano, it will only produce dust, and that will
never be paid.

As for old accumulated dust, it will be paid after we find another block.
I've stated this after we found the last block
Quote:

And of course related to that:
https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.53406307
and
https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.53155392

It's simply that I will FIRST pay out owed dust to everyone mining on the pool when the next block is found.
Then I'll pay out the rest of the dust some time after that.
If you wanna be part of the first dust payout, mine on the pool.
Simple.

I was trying to imply that the price will rise after the halfing.

But I'm mining with two R606's.

lol gotcha!

still actively mining there then? and with what? as others have said, I think even 1 th would put you above dust level.

I'm still waiting on $1.19 USD of Dust.  I'll be in some high cotton when I finally get that.  I'll have really think hard on how to spend it.  Smiley

yea that is very low. I have an old account that i got locked out of that also has dust - I told him to hold it and pay it with my next block reward earned on my new account. I said that in December, I had no way of knowing we still would have no blocks 5 months later lol

also - unless mistaken, some accounts were paid on the last block - If I recall, he paid out some of the accounts already - I would have to find the message in discord though to be sure. Either way, the next block should see all dust paid as well.

owe is not pay, but that might changed, I did not look all the times on the thread.
I used to mine at kano too, until it get to big and the small miners dropped to dustlevel.

It was stated that dust will be paid in the next block.

Dust level is well under 1THs and always has been as far a I know.

I did a recheck and found that:

If you have any unpaid dust/held payments then the "Rewards" page totals minus the "Payments" page total is how much the pool owes you.

The system is still in "beta" since I'm not ready to send the unpaid dust yet, until I'm sure all the balances on the "Payments" page are correct for everyone. Then I'll write a new payment so I can send that also.

owe is not pay, but that might changed, I did not look all the times on the thread. I used to mine at kano too, until it get to big and the small miners dropped to dustlevel. When that happend I tend to switch to solo.

Solo.ckpool.org is at the moment the only alternative.

Kano initiated dust payments many months ago - I think there are more to be paid out though - waiting for the next block reward and as for the 200th limit you state - I have had less than 30 th on the pool at various times and gotten payments quite a bit over the dust limit. so 200 th is by no means a requirement or necessary to be above dust limit.

they have run for years pretty much anonymously.  both you and the pool are  anonymous.  you only give a btc address.

They have always paid when a block is hit.  they are really low hash  last few years and do not hit a lot of blocks.

It is a shame as it is a perfect pool  for my s9 space heater builds.

I would not mind s9 space heater on their pool and on solo.ckpool.

Phil,
Who runs mmpool?  I've seen you write about them before but I have no idea who they are?

mmpool.org
solo.ckpool.org

mmpool.org is your best choice as you can earn and if you actually hit the block you get all the tx fees as a bonus.

so each and every block you could get quite a lot of money yet you still earn on a steady basis.

I'm at 2Ths and am well above the dust level.  And dust will be paid out.  So you are incorrect.

Also pool mining and solo mining are completely different.  The OP was asking about pooled mining alternatives.  The solo pool is an excellent option to put into the failover list for those of us mining on a traditional pool.  Or for lottery type mining, of course.  I wholeheartedly support the solo pool for those scenarios.

Oh, so Ckpool.org itself is going to continue for miners in solo mode?

No, the solo pool will continue to run, ckpool.org has shutdown.  However pool.ckpool.org will redirect to the solo pool now.

Alternatives to ckpool.org, for pooled mining not solo:

Kano.is
Bitminter.com

Yeah there's an entire thread about it in the pools section of the forum, where hopefully this will be moved.

And along the line of solo pools, from what kano has posted in Discord over the next few weeks he is working on setting one up that will accept all ASIC miners regardless of hash rate, firmware used, and rental or 'real'.

Will be nice to have a solo pool ran by someone that has never lost blocks due to sloppy coding/lack of testing!
The other plus is that because he logs everything we could also finally get irrefutable proof on if the various non-oem firmware's actually find blocks (or not)... Being solo there would be no issue of miners being paid for (possibly) bad work.

You could run it on solo.ckpool.org if you fancy a lottery, in more ways than one.

Or you could run it on kano.is for a normal pplns pool.

Hi.

Ckpool.org has closed. It was a pool that worked very well for small miners, but with the last Halving he could not continue.

Now I find my little ASIC-USB that I don't know what to do.

What options can you think of?

A greeting.
