I guess I found another explorer for the coin I needed.

Your site is very attractive to me, because I want to observe many blockchains, and need API access. And of course, it's less work for me to figure out API syntax when I get most of the coins from one site. chainz.cryptoid has been useful in that respect, but they lack important coins.

I'll come back to your offer with the temporary chain when I need one. Thanks!

I am planning a major update to the site. Altexplorer has always been a side project of mine up until recently when i began work on a new design and began to put together the backend to support abe for many of these coins.

I really should put up a maintenance message until complete as it may be a while. The crawlers should be back up in just a few days. But ill put up a message until then

Ill be the first to admit it. The layout of the website really sucks. But that wasnt my main focus in getting these out there. I am designing the new website now and the domain will stay the same.

Any Coin I have chosen not to supply a crawler for already has a reliable quality ABE implementation. I have taken the wonderful script from https://github.com/CallMeJake/BlockCrawler And done some modifications to it. I will make my script open source as when some greater design goals are met. It currently has only basic modifications and some more in depth ones for specific Proof Of Stake coins. The code I release will be more heavily modified to allow multiple blockchains through one interface

API is functional on all explorers.

Time of last block (UTC) To easily detect stalled/slow blockchains
Current Version to easily tell if the explorer/your wallet are up to date
Last checkpoint added for Proof Of Stake implementations
Current block reward added to select coins with variable block rewards ( More to come)
Hashing algorithm added to select coins with the getwork command ( Eventually all will be done manually )

Short term:

I am currently working on the new website design in my spare time. Which is becoming more and more limited. The new design will have one interface for all blockchains. And have the ability to detect cross blockchain transactions ( Coins sent to an address on the wrong network )

Greater transaction messaging features.

Long Term:

After the new site is up I plan to turn my attention to the https://github.com/bitcoin-abe/bitcoin-abe code. And possibly implement a lightweight version for use with the site. The main advantage of the block crawler script is its lack of database. It takes very little resources to run and can be scaled to the level that i need. Implementing a database for 80+ blockchains will be a challenge

New additions:

Additions will be based off of requests and mainly on adoption by exchanges. One of the main goals was to give cryptsy users a place ot track all of their transactions. So its safe to safe any coin listed there will receive an addition

Advertisements will come with the new design. I do have to make money after all. They wont be overbearing and will be kept to a minimum. The new website will have much more than just the explorers. Known issues:

I missed something in my last round of updates and an invalid transaction ID returns an internal server error. I will correct this soon

CENT, PTS and MST explorers are unreliable right now Please report any other issues to me or client updates

Disclaimer:

No coins are stored on the servers and you cannot get an address to send to via api. The only thing on that network are the wallet servers as it has its own dedicated IP and firewall. The website itself is hosted on a vps with the crawlers and is behind cloudflare
