this is something funny, comparing bitcoin with altcoin so you are sure bitcoin is better than altcoin, to find out you only need to interpret what bitcoin and altcoin are, the altcoin is an alternative coin, clearly an alternative that means other options besides bitcoin, so, what's the problem You? When you mention alts, you have to be specific about them , because we have so many coins in the market that are alts that we don't even need to start debating or arguing on before you know that they should not be compared, but if we are to discuss about alts, we pick the first 2o coins here, and I would not say that bitcoin is completely better than them, but one true thing that has ever made bitcoin standard out is that it is the only one true decentralized coin that runs on full decentralization which its operation can still not be controlled. We have some alts anyway that has the functions of bitcoin too like Ethereum and are quite faster, but people will always rely of bitcoin more because of background and being the first, but not like we don’t have alts still performing better.

Bitcoin is better than altcoin for many reasons and one of them is decentralized so that the transaction data cannot be changed. Bitcoin does not have a CEO so the opportunity to manipulate its investors by increasing supply is almost non-existent
In my view, you should not change your mind. Just act on how the crypto market is functioning at present. Now bitcoin is taking over the entire crypto market with its around 70 percent of dominance. As a result, most of altcoins are taking a back seat. Now you can just support bitcoin. In the future, altcoins may take over the market. And you do support altcoins.

Why bitcoin is better? because bitcoin is the king of cryptocurrencies and good for trading. But in terms of investing for long term I'd rather to invest in alts like ethereum. Everyone is welcome
why should anybody bother convincing you about potential of bitcoin? it is not in our favor anyways. if you buy shitcoins instead and stay away from bitcoin then it means there is more cheaper bitcoins for us to buy. there is only a limited number of bitcoins available and the demand for that limited supply is high.

Judging from what has been happen for this few months
We can see that BTC dominance is strong, one of the main point i guess is because of how Bitcoin being the #1 of Crypto
Whenever you see beginner who enter the crypto industry
We can't void out the fact that they came in because they heard about How Bitcoin price fluctuate and skyrocket for over so many folds
If everyone is including BTC into their portfolio, the demand goes up faster than the Bitcoin is being mined
Thus, Bitcoin does hold a very strong position here

They both have advantages and disadvantages but altcoin is the major one having too many problems

For altcoins
1. Better features like faster transaction fee

Bitcoin is controlling the current marketcap so it will never compare to any other altcoin. Nowadays many good altcoins are enter in the market but all are stay back in Bitcoin. For me, inspite of new altcoins that are introduce day by day in the market, several altcoins may not be in good shape or not in good value because of the competency on their own. Bitcoin is very much good for a long term investment rather than any altcoins nowadays because bitcoin can lead cryptocurrency into a bullish market when it would increase. And it is because of bitcoin that several altcoins increases their prices due to it can be pulled by butcoin.
Yes, there are few aspects where bitcoin lack behind (like with scalability issue) but bitcoin is always going to be the mother of the entire cryptocurrency world.

from the beginning the creation of the crypto world of BITCOIN was the first and the only one that controlled the market while altcoin took turns coming and going and some even died. bitcoin is currently still strong at the top without any altcoin that can approach it.
Bitcoin is like the main coin in crypto space and it has been proven for years as a trusted coin, both for trading and investment. I think it is more than enough for the reason to choose Bitcoin. Moreover, in the last few months, Bitcoin can rise very well while altcoins seem hard to improve their values.

This is the biggest proof that Bitcoin is far better than altcoins and the majority of investors are behind it, Bitcoin dominance according to this chart in Coinmarketcap is now at 68.9% https://coinmarketcap.com/charts/ and there was a study according to Forbes that it could even go as high as 90%, this is the reason why some altcoins are dying. The internal value of bitcoin is much better and bitcoin can affect another coin too and remember bitcoin is not a security coin and it can be considered as store of value and that means if bitcoin has so many advantages. And the opposite thing altcoin doesn't have a power to give impact to the bitcoin and this makes bitcoin even stronger on its domination in the coinmarketcap.

I can't change your mind. Only you can. But I'd tell you about a father that gave birth to so many children. Amongst the children, some grew to become successful, while others didn't. The children learnt so much from their parents, but were not completely similar. From the short story the father created the opportunities for the children, and they relied on the father's influence. I think that's one way to describe the relationship between bitcoin and majority of the alts.

Bitcoin is a pioneer of other crypto including alts, so it is not possible for bitcoin to die faster than alts. Every coin has a lifespan, I have gone through a few years with crypto and have seen many dead alts that previously successful. Bitcoin will die when alts have all died. Well that's why Bitcoin is better than Alts, if you bought Alts in 2012 maybe now it has become dust, different from bitcoin, maybe now you have become a millionaire.

Just go to coinmarketcap.com and check the historical price chart of the top 100 projects on the list, you will observe a pattern, they are not sustainable investment, unless you want to try your luck with them. Altcoins need to start delivering or we wil continue to see Bitcoin dominance continue to grow

I'm not going to convince you why bitcoin is better but my opinion with the comparison of both. Bitcoin has been affecting all altcoins, why altcoins doesn't really affect bitcoin if the bearish continues.

If you want to change your mind, you have to look at the crypto market and its history carefully. Bitcoin is the base of the crypto platform. From its creation day to now, everything happened in crypto because of invention of BTC. A lot of altcoins came and they are dead now. Only a few altcoins are doing well, otherwise, 90% of altcoins of 2017 has gone out, but Bitcoin is ruling the crypto market from day 1. Invest, trade or hodl in every way Bitcoin is far profitable than altcoins.

If you are looking for someone to change your mind you have come up with a solid response why you believe in alt coins. I have seen many alt coins come and go in my years of experience in this market and majority are made to have a profit so that the developers could earn a good amount of money in a short period and majority of the alt coins are dead with time. Bitcoin started this evolution in this market and what more you need to understand this basic reality
