25% is too much. These are money makers please avoid them if you are still a newbie.

Even if it was something like 1%, still chances are it's a scam. There's no such thing as guaranteed profit, even if you're the #1 best cryptocurrency trader in the world. Profit and losses will always fluctuate.

Anyway, kudos to OP at least you actually asked first before going in. It still boggles me how these types of scams still makes money these days.

Scammers have invented a new method where they take any relatively small but among top 300 coins and use the same name/matching name to create their own coin with same metrics.

No one going to make legit offers for random guys. I think it was a scam. In my opinion, don't take offers from random guys. They are not going to offer good things for you.

A guaranteed unrealistic return is a classic indicator of a scam. The use of the phrase "arbitrage opportunity" is also typical of scams in this context. Claims of "algorithmic trading" are also a strong indicator.

I have been offered a Bitcoin investment opportunity whereby someone is claiming they have an arbitrage opportunity where they can guarantee a 25% return per trade.
You can be sure its a scam from this fragment "can guarantee a 25% return per trade". Noone can guarantee that, its very very very risky business (arbitrage).
Don't do it, if its too good to be true, it is.

If they can just keep that strategy, they wouldn't ask for someone which will be guaranteed with 25%.

Don't fall for an investment opportunity that gives you certain percentage, they just want your money and that's all.

I'm very suspicious, but would appreciate the confirmation that this is a scam.

Laughable attempt to scam. Let's apply some logical thinking. If someone had a way to make a guaranteed 25% return... Why the F#@! would they need your money?
Ask them to draw up a contract that legally obligates them to pay at least a 25% return. Ask them to send over a copy of their business license for your lawyer's records. Of course you will never hear from them again.  ANY GUARANTEE OF PROFITS IS A SCAM! There is no such thing in business.

No one - absolutly no one - will give you money out of nowhere. So yes, you are going to be scamed if you take the deal.
Always ask yourself why someone would offer such an opportunity to complete strangers ...

Thank you all so far.

Dimonhamon - The apparent strategy is being able to buy for less than market rate with guaranteed rich investors who are willing to pay OVER market rate.

you should ask yourself why do those "rich investors" aren't buying bitcoin themselves?! they can easily go ahead and buy it themselves and not rely on you to also have to pay more! it is not just about being scam, maybe they are doing something illegal and want your identity to be on the line as you buy bitcoin with your money on an exchange (link bank account,...) and then they do something illegal with it and in the end  you will be caught and they will get away with it!

most probably yes.

i give it a small change of not being scam because arbitrage trading in some cases (like between countries that have a higher price) is possible to give that kind of high profit.
whether this is scam or not depends on how well you know the person who is offering you this kind of profit. if you were contacted randomly or if you found an ad online,... then it is 100% scam.
but if you know the person then it might be possible. you can use escrow or something with fiat or bitcoin and beware of the charge back options that fiat has. BUT ONLY IF you know the person.

Definitely a scam, if they could make money themselves, they would do it in a heartbeat. One can always use levarage and such.

Correct. If they can guarantee 25% return why are they contacting other people
You would expect them to invest everything they have themselves for that 25% return.

Definitely smells of a scam.

Write about what kind of arbitration you have heard. But if in general, arbitration can be profitable, but this is a risky business and the percentage is not 25 and less.
