I was looking for any information on this recently too.  I found a few posts with people talking about how much their hashrates suffered when trying to run the 14.1 drivers and then reverting.

Digging for any technical information about mantle and how it works (more so than what it was initially designed for) didn't amount to much either.  When asked about an SDK for mantle, it looks like the current response is "sometime later in 2014"  I would guess it would be possible to at least attempt at doing in mantle what OpenCL handles today, but without insider information at this point, I think it would be hard to judge for sure.

I think the stance of it's probably more for graphics & games is reasonable, but at the same time, GPUs were really only designed for accelerating graphics rendering and then AMD & nVidia saw what people were doing with programmable shaders beyond just graphics and responded by delivering 'compute cores' that could be more multi-purpose.

Don't think Mantle was designed with mining in mind. I doubt you would see any improvements.

Just noticed that Mantle is available to use on the Beta AMD drivers 14.1.

I just wondered if there is a chance that a Miner software could use Mantle and get better performance than OpenCL?

Thanks
