18.4.1 were buggy, so just stay away

Best would be 18.3.4 and 18.6.1
Different CN algos act differently on those, but the difference is very slight, so only if you are min/maxing a rig for specific algo - it's worth testing, otherwise just pick any of them

Blockchain are outdated and pointless, unless you use a specific miner that has kernel compiled for it, like MkxMiner for lyra2v2, but even then, lyclMiner is significantly better.

I am using different version on every rig and dont feel any difference. Maybe vega rig needs some specific driver, but other cards will work fine with latest version usually.

Since we're on the topic, which AMD driver is working the best for you guys?  I'm having the best performance on 18.6.1 and 18.5.1 on Compute mode compared to other driver versions (including the latest 18.7).

i think Adrenalin is not supported buy after burner...!!!

i was using it and  gave me a headache i switched to ndrivetool, far better

facing the same problem where temperatures, fan and OC settings break and can't use claymore to control these settings.

these settings work fine with these drivers until rig crashes for some reason (like the power outage), a notification appears that wattman settings have been restored to default and then I lose all the control.

Trying to find a workaround, once I get somewhere will update everyone here.

Wattman is now with this driver horribly slow, every time I switch to a different card it takes like 20 seconds. Other than that I see no difference. I'm using the integrated intel for video, anyone else having this issue?

the Vega 64 reference models don't seem to be liking this driver too much. one of the 64s hangs after about an hour on Claymore v10.1
the 56s seem to be happy/stable.

Hi guys I've been using windows 10 1709 x64 ang using the latest adrenalin drive with claymore 10.3 but seems that this combination is a problem to me, by the way my mobo is asus b250 mining expert, I can't control the fan, core voltage, mem clock and core clock... do you have the 3rd party app working on this like afterburner? Need your help. Thanks

OverdriveNTool works perfectly for me.

Upgraded RX580 rigs to the new driver and Claymore 10.3. All works fine getting the same hash rate. Cast XMR 0.8 works fine too, same hashrate, had to add --forcecompute and --opencl=1 options to make it work.

However the Vega 64 rig doesn't work with new driver, apparently the issue is in Cast XMR miner. First of all it doesn't work with "--forcecompute and --opencl=1" and the vega cards, don't know why. But haven't had much time to play with it though. I think there should be the way to make it work. The miner just hangs or complains on --opencl=1
And also devcon doesn't disable/enable the drivers programmatically(actually it hangs when trying to enable them), which is probably not needed with new driver.
--opencl is to choose the right platform : which depends on the presence of an intel or nvidia gpu ...
Try without this option or with other values than 1 (0/2).

Thanks to Claymore, the latest AMD Adrenaline 17.12.2 drivers in compute mode are working with Claymore v10.3. You can set temperature, fan control and also set the overclock, powerlimit and voltages directly in the miner command line or config file. Works great with my ASRock H110 Pro BTC+ 13 card build.

https://support.amd.com/en-us/kb-articles/Pages/Radeon-Software-Adrenalin-Edition-17.12.2-Release-Notes.aspx

If you want to use Afterburner with more than 3 GPU's, you need to use the AMD Aug. 23rd blockchain drivers on Windows 10 v1703 and you are limited to a max of 8 AMD cards.

https://support.amd.com/en-us/kb-articles/Pages/Radeon-Software-Crimson-ReLive-Edition-Beta-for-Blockchain-Compute-Release-Notes.aspx

Awesome thanks man!! I got 7x Sapphire RX580's running on claymore 10.2 win 1703 using AMD Aug. 23rd blockchain drivers
Msi AB 4.4.2 latest when i try to undervolt it's not doing anything can't figure the problem. It's drawing a lot of power ~135w per card, that's why i came here to check if the new adrenalin software would help me -_-

has anyone worked out a way to turn on compute mode on recent drivers without using AMD settings?

add this DWORD to the below registry path: KMD_EnableInternalLargePage, set value to 2 to enable compute mode

"HKLM\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Control\Class\{4d36e968-e325-11ce-bfc1-08002be10318}\XXXX"
where "XXXX" is the card number.

What's the point to install those drivers, if it doesn't improve hashrate and breaks Claymore's compatibility ?

I'll stick with my old blockchain driver  Grin

With 17.12.1 wattman became horribly slow, every time I click on a card I have to wait a couple of minutes for it to appear. Anyone else seeing this? I didn't find it as a known issue for the release.

why not us the new version of after burner 4.2.2 final  out today it works with that driver and one card, haven't tested it yet on a four card rig . which was or maybe was having issue with four cards or more and that driver,

Afterburner doesn't seem to recognize my cards correctly, even the name of the cards appears blank.
Edit: RX-580 cards

AMD released 17.12.2 driver. Who tried allready, is they repaired compatibility with Claymore temp/voltage/fans monitoring and control?

It is not amd that needs to do anything to fix it, its claymore that needs to do something to match amd's settings.

Just wait a while and there will probably a new version of miners which will work with the new AMD drivers

This.

Just wanted to throw my info into the ring. I'm doing some testing on building a mining rig, and I've been stable on my personal desktop with Win 10 x64 on Crimson 17.11.4 drivers on an MSI RX 580 8GB- because of conditions it's running under I'm getting ~23 MH/s ETH & 60 MH/s LBRY dual mining using Claymore 10.2. For me using the block-chain drivers -vs- the production drivers changed to compute it didn't make a hashrate difference.

Once I installed the new Adrenalin drivers my hash rates went to ~31+ MH/s & 80+ MH/s with the card running cooler and using less power, however ETH wasn't actually hashing - I kept getting an error and I wasn't getting any shares into the pool - however the LBRY hash rate was legit and I was successful in mining those.

I've also experienced the no fan/gpu/mem speed control issues, but I was able to use wattman or afterbuner to control those.

I'm assuming you enable computing mode? Is it normal if you have two or more cards there's no workload option?

Just looks like more bloatware for gamers and still shows a known issue with 12+ GPU's. AMD blockchain drivers on Windows v1703 are working fine for me with RX 570/580's and I don't see a reason to change.

A random system hang may be experienced after extended periods of use on system configurations using 12 GPU's for compute workloads.

https://support.amd.com/en-us/kb-articles/Pages/Radeon-Software-Adrenalin-Edition-17.12.1-Release-Notes.aspx

Blockchain drivers support only upto 8 GPUs if I am not mistaken. I am running on 17.11.4 drivers which support upto 12 GPUs and my rig with 10 GPUs is running stable. Hence why change?

Thanks for posting. I was just about to download fresh drivers for a rig that's been acting up lately and I seen these Adrenalin drivers published today. Before I did though I thought I would check to see if anyone tested them yet with mining. Here is hoping for a slight improvement, stability would be great.

WARNING : the drivers break temp/fan reporting for claymore. Use at own risk. For now I'd stay stick to what you already have. I dont know how this took me so long to notice lol.

Yep, I just got them installed and can confirm temperatures and fan settings break (at least with Claymore 10.2), was just coming back to post this as well.

I can control them in wattman though, so I may test them out for awhile until Claymore can get around to making a new patch.

Fail to plan, and you plan to fail.
AMD Released their next major driver overhaul after Relive, the Adrenalin driver set.
Introduce a lot of gaming centric features, better screen capture, overlays etc.
For miners, performance is unchanged and we still have the Graphics/Compute toggle which now seems to be a permanent fixture in AMD Drivers.

Here is a quick overview for those interested https://www.anandtech.com/show/12147/amd-releases-radeon-software-adrenalin-edition

I have installed them and am mining using them on a 4 GPU test rig, I see no improvement on Eth on Claymore 10.2, but they appear to me more stable mining XMR on Claymore 10.2 compared to previous version of drivers. However, Temperature and Fanspeed monitoring in Claymore's miners is not working.
I believe an update for the Claymore XMR miner is in the works, I hope that brings in rock solid stability like we see on the ETH miner.

Update : Cast XMR miner (even the latest version 0.8 ) does not detect these AMD drivers, so does not work with them.
