I understand amd have bug in drivers, and hope they will soon fix that bug.
But I dont understand how they can make "new" not so cheap mining cards
with 470 series of gpus. Why not rebrand name like gaming series?
Even to change one letter in name become too hard for them?
They double prices, lower quality, and not working enought to make good drivers...

That's pretty impresssive what happened to AMD. Personnaly I never bought any amd gpu but last year for the first time I started buying cards. I also planned to build a big mining farm with up to 60 amd graphic cards.

Threadripper looks like it will be a wonderful bargain at the pricepoint it's set at. I've been drooling over the thought of getting one, but I just don't have a need for more then 8 cores and 16 threads at this point. If I was doing content creation on a regular basis though I wouldn't hesitate to grab one.

To Hash or not to Hash, that's what the question

i was gonna say about threadripper launch... if benchmarks will be good, AMD will get higher, if not, then no vega will help and amd will tank, but i still think the real value of AMD as a company is higher than its priced at right now.

amd need to start inventing things and stop trying to catch up with a leader.

Supposedly AMD is going to fix the DAG epoch issue in a driver update... at least that's what I read a couple of days ago. It will be interesting to see how much of a dent in Intel they can make next week when Threadripper launches and then eventually Eypyc in the server market also. Then there's Vega, but it doesn't look to be that great for mining (so far at least).

Amd cards  epoch issues will damage its share price,  nvidia cards might be more expensive but their more future proof and better at zec when everyone drops eth.

Today all the gains of yesterday are wiped out unfortunately.
AMD traded in the range of $ 14 again. Huh

Yeah, I kinda seen this coming too and actually invested a little in both AMD and Nvidia at the beginning of May when the cards first started to go out of stock. Made a little profit on each company and now thinking of cashing out.

Funny thing is, though I did make some gains, after playing in the Crypto market they seem pretty tame by comparison.

The last days are getting less buying amd mining hardware. Because of the new very high price, and because of its unavailability. Nvidia is currently far better and more favorable, and if this goes on, AMD will return to red...

Both companies are at profit here, AMD has been literally out of stock for the most part for the last few months, my guess is as soon as they make the chips they get bought, i think nvidia has a much larger production operation so it can handle a bit more load but check out the gtx 1060/1070 prices, as over the top as the rx prices. Gtx 1080 is available and wasn't that over priced because it was never good for eth.

Nvidia prices have blown up too though... both are totally not worth it where I live (Netherlands). €300 - €450 range for a 570, €400 for a 580, €300 for a 1060, €550 - 650,- for a 1070, 600-900 for a 1080

So yeah......
