^^^ But don't forget that the NBA seems to be China oriented in their practices right now, even though there are controversies that might break their ties.

The arrests and charges doesn’t come directly as a result of US citizens supporting the Hong Kong protest.

I think it indirectly comes from disputes between the Hong Kong protesters and Chinese patriots living in the States. The US House of Representatives recently pass a bill to show support for the Hong Kong pro-democracy protesters.

The Hong Kong protests is actually affecting the relationship between Hong Kong-born students and their classmates from China. It’s been 21 weeks of protests in Hong Kong and the economic and social effect of these protests is beginning to mount.

It doesn't have to be like this. If there are arrests for saying words, file a claim in a common law court of record. Stand present in court. Don't be represented even by yourself.  The claim is that nobody will come forth with an injury that you did. If somebody says your words hurt him, claim that his causing you to be arrested is hurting you much more. Freedom of speech is protected by the 1st Article to the Bill of Rights.

America Starts Arresting and Charging Fines For Saying Bad Words, As Hong Kong Gets A Victory!

There is good news and bad news. The good news is Hong Kong finally got one of their demands met, and that is there has been a withdraw from the extradition bill. Now Hong Kong protestors are likely to still continue protesting, as there is yet 4 more demands to be met.

Meanwhile here in the US we seem to losing more of our freedoms. As the latest attack are on our freedom of speech and First Amendment right. Right now, citizens are facing jail time and massive fines for simply offending someone and posting on Facebook. All that and more below…

To have a person unable to speak bad words is not losing our freedom but it is actually defending our freedom. It is defending our rights to be respected and not to be insulted. The ability to insult someone and hurt them emotionally using bad words is where the limitation of freedom comes in. Our exercise of freedom end where the freedom and rights of others begin.

The point is, that in America, all the State courts of the States, are Courts of Record. And because of the 6th, 7th and 9th Articles to the Bill of Rights, the courts can be Common Law Courts of Record.

If the accused demands a Common Law Court of Record in his trial, and if he stands in court, present, unrepresented even by himself (and certainly not an attorney), his accuser must be in court accusing him in person. The accuser must get on the stand and testify to the harm or damage he did to the accused. And there must be evidence and witnesses. The attorney is not allowed to say anything other than to testify, himself, if he has first hand knowledge of the happenings.

If the accuser loses in that he wasn't harmed or damaged, the accused can require the same fine from the accuser that he would have had to pay if he had lost.

Wake up, people. We don't live in a dictatorship by government type of government. We klive in a government where we can stand up and take control directly.

Perhaps the United States of America has a very beautiful vision ahead of her. She wants to be a paradise where not even a badly worded social media post is allowed. Great advancement indeed!  Grin

While Hong Kong is facing the true meaning of democracy in a chaotic way, America is creating heaven on earth by killing basic freedom.

Times have changed. Hong Kong seem to be making some progress. But over here these arrests shows the US seems to be slowly drifting. No one in December 15, 1791 would have believed it’s would have come to this. I hope this gets resolved soon b

This just clearly emphasizes the example of American democracy))). To be honest, I am not surprised by such reports. Although I think these people will be released soon.
So it’s worth remembering the situation with a blizzard, as it seems to me that something strange is happening in the world.

Cool

There was a local case recently in similar fashion. It didn't involve jail time but apparently there was a dispute between two people on a residential street. One guy flipped the other off and in return the one who was flipped off made a "gun" hand gesture at the other.

The dude who made the gesture was picked up by police, questioned, fined, and released. It was perceived as a threat.

What's next, being jailed tor the thoughts in your own head?
