....  Always wanted to do this, just to see how good I do.
...

You will do terrible, if you continue to pick every single game of the week  Grin

Focus on 1-2 selections a week (the games where your estimation of a fair line differs from
the line of the bookmaker) and pick these. Otherwise you will just lose due to the
vig/juice.

Nevertheless, I of course wish you good luck and I actually agree with some of your picks.

You have rightly said. I think it is all your strategy and planning which matters even if you make more than 2 selections of the week. It all depends on your skill level, if you are good at it you can even manage to win all no matter how many selections you make a week. You need to practice first.

I agree with these guys. You should just pick your best picks. I did this before too and had the same problem. The issue here is that you are only giving little attention to each game because of the number of games you are watching. You should place like a sure win pick, a medium level pick and a risky pick, while keeping in mind the risk to reward ratio. Good luck.

Methink you have to give attention to between 1 to 3 games or else you will incur many losses every week. look for the game you are very sure of,those you know well.

Please read the thread before responding.  I am aware if you are trying to make a profit you should pick a few key games.  I am trying to see how well I will do picking all the games throughout the season

Not the greatest first week
7 wins 8 losses.

I understand you shouldn't bet all the games obviously.  Maybe I will make a prediction on what games I would have bet.

Hey all,

Going to be making some posts throughout the course of the Football season regarding winning/loses.  Always wanted to do this, just to see how good I do.

Thursday, Sept. 14
8:25 p.m.   Houston Texans at Cincinnati Bengals (NFLN)   CIN -5.5
I'll take the Bengals to cover.

Sunday, Sept. 17
1:00 p.m.   Tennessee Titans at Jacksonville Jaguars (CBS)   TEN -1.5
I'll take the Jags to win, or at the very least cover

1:00 p.m.   Cleveland Browns at Baltimore Ravens (CBS)   BAL -7.5
Baltimore should have no issue with this week

1:00 p.m.   Buffalo Bills at Carolina Panthers (CBS)   CAR -7
I'll take the Panthers to win and cover the spread

1:00 p.m.   New England Patriots at New Orleans Saints (CBS)   NE -7
Are these the same Patriots?  I'll still take them...

1:00 p.m.   Arizona Cardinals at Indianapolis Colts (FOX)   ARI -7.5
I don't like this game, but I will take the cardinals to cover

1:00 p.m.   Philadelphia Eagles at Kansas City Chiefs (FOX)   KC -4.5
I'll take the chiefs to cover
1:00 p.m.   Minnesota Vikings at Pittsburgh Steelers (FOX)   PIT -6
Vikings will probably win, if not they should cover no problem

1:00 p.m.   Chicago Bears at Tampa Bay Buccaneers (FOX)   TB -7
I'll take the bears to cover the 7 points
4:05 p.m.   Miami Dolphins at Los Angeles Chargers (CBS)   LAC -5
Tough to say, but I'll take the chargers to cover the 5
4:05 p.m.   New York Jets at Oakland Raiders (CBS)   OAK -14   43.5
Oakland is good, but 14 points is a lot, even in football. I'll take them to win but not cover

4:25 p.m.   Washington Redskins at Los Angeles Rams (FOX)   LAR -2.5
I'll take the rams to cover the spread
4:25 p.m.   Dallas Cowboys at Denver Broncos (FOX)   DAL -2
I'll take Dallas to cover
4:25 p.m.   San Francisco 49ers at Seattle Seahawks (FOX) -13.5
I'll take the seahawks to cover, but very scared to

8:30 p.m.   Green Bay Packers at Atlanta Falcons (NBC)   ATL -3
I'll take the packers to cover
Monday, Sept. 18
8:30 p.m.   Detroit Lions at New York Giants (ESPN)   NYG -4
I'll take the lions to cover, and probably win
