advanced technology will not eliminate crypto, if supercomputers are created then crypto will also create even better progress. let's think logically, it's impossible for crypto to run in place without making some progress in the future, crypto will definitely make adjustments to keep up with the times.

so in my opinion, it is unlikely that advanced technology will kill crypto.
That's right, if there is a super computer (advanced technology) then crypto will also be more advanced. The developers at Bitcoin Core will also continue to update Bitcoin technology. I think advanced technology will actually make bitcoin even better.

Lets put the business and regulatory aspects aside for a moment and focus on the technology aspects. In order to attack crypto you need to attack the underlying technology which is cryptography. In order to attack cryptography you need to attack the algorithm, the key or the implementation. A flawed algorithm can be successfully attacked by today's technical capabilities. Lets say someone designs a new coin using a weak algorithm it will be quickly broken and the coin "killed". A good cryptographic system uses an algorithm that can be public and scrutinized but the strength is in the key length. A poor implementation of a good cryptographic system can also be easily broken with today's technology.

To get close to "killing" crypto in my view would need a catastrophic event that successfully attacks Bitcoin itself overnight and without warning. This could happen for example if someone finds a previously unknown flaw in the cryptographic algorithms used in the Bitcoin protocol and uses that to manipulate the blockchain or uses it to access funds tied to private keys that they are not supposed to own. This is however extremely unlikely and a worst case scenario.

Lets assume therefore that the algorithms used in Bitcoin and the implementation is secure. This leaves the key lengths used. This would mean in the simplest terms to try and guess the relationship between public and private keys. To do this one would need the ability to brute force answers that provides the right question which means an extremely significant and large number of answers need to be guessed. Normal logical thinking would lead to designing a capability that attempts to guess the answers in series. Using different thinking, creating capability to increase the number of guesses at the same time through one or more methods is probably what is going to occur over time. My view is further that as such advances in technology occur, the gatekeepers or communities that own/look after or develop the cryptographic systems used in various applications will look into methods of increasing key length or advancing the algorithms or implementing new cryptographic systems that are more resistant to the threat. Technology advances of this nature do not happen overnight and therefore I believe that the gatekeepers and dev community for Bitcoin will in advance future proof the strength of the cryptographic system and implement it through a new release or a fork or something to that effect.

I therefore think it is highly unlikely that crypto will be "killed" through technological advances.

For me personally, cryptocurrency has created a number of opportunities to increase profits. And such a technology as crypto-industry surprises us every day with its new technologies. And I think that so far no one has come up with such a technology that can destroy the crypto-industry forever. The crypto industry is evolving and brings a number of great opportunities for the development of new ideas for the entire crypto community.

New technology will always be dynamic and what we think now is the best then it will be useless in the future, many people overthink about cryptocurrencies with reasons of advanced, secure and so on, but I believe the trend will keep changing and growing.
There's no point for a new technology if it will kill the past technology because i believe new technology arise to deal with new challenges in life. This is the reason why we have some innovations so we can take advantage of new technology, and help us ahead in the competition.  And crypto belongs to the new innovations these days as it help us to grow our investments and increase our profits. This is how dynamic new technology and innovations are.

Therefore, I believe that one should not be afraid of new technologies. Cryptocurrency is an almost voluntary activity. If a better technology appears, we will have a choice: switch to a new one or use the old one. People will switch to a new technology only if it turns out to be more practical and convenient. The current cryptocurrency is imperfect and has a number of disadvantages. Therefore, something new and more perfect may well appear.
Quantum computers in a maximum of ten years will be able to crack the security codes of the current cryptocurrency. It seems to me that already now we need to think about appropriate protection against them.

It this supercomputers are going to be available in the future, then for sure crypto could also make some advancement in order to cope with this quantum computers.

Every code is available out there and majority have devs to make adjustments.

So I'm not afraid about this technologies, what I'm afraid of is the hackers and scammers that are going to still be in the market in the future. In short, it's still human that is the threat to us and this this AI or QC.
This is basically the history of the technological development of our species, if someone created a sharper sword then someone will create a more resistant armor, someone invented the gun making armor for a time useless until someone developed bullet-proof vests.

And the same will happen here, even if at some point the current algorithms are broken they will be replaced by something else that is not as easily broken, so I am not worried about this at all.

About supercomputers, it's not happened as yet so we should not worry we should think about the present and should not be worried about what would happen if such computers develop that can through our wallet key. It is still false but we can not say anything that will happen in the future. And technology changes very fast we all know if you are a part of cryptocurrencies you must know we are not restricted to only bitcoin. From time to time many new coins and many other platforms launched and are giving a tough fight to bitcoin also. Now we are witnessing Metaverse, Nfts, Web3 this is all advancement of the technologies and I would say this is called technology development So crypto is also developing in terms of technology also.

The world of technology is evolving every year what if in future a new tech is been born that can kill crypto or works better than crypto won't this kill cryptocurrencies?

Also I heard that super computers can get through all crypto wallet keys easily in a matter of days, true or false?
The fastest supercomputer is Fugaku which has a speed of 442 PFLOPS and it cost around a billion US dollar to put together this supercomputer and if you think it can break AES-128 encryption it will take forever to break the encryption, basically it is impossible to break the encryption even if you spent a billion dollars and who will be spending that much money to break the encryption of BTCitcoin (SHA-256) or other cryptocurrencies  Tongue.

Correct, right now it is impossible to break the cryptography behind bitcoin, now some assume that just because governments are powerful that they have a way to do so already but this is really doubtful.

After all taking into account how many leaks of information governments suffer all around the world it is to be expected that if this was true we will know it already, in which case all kind of institutions would have updated it their encryption methods to protect themselves from this.

I wouldn't want to bother myself about what kind of technology is to come in the future and still want to continue to enjoy this cryptocurrency moment. When that time comes I don't also believe that their attention will be on how to kill crypto because there could also be even another form of digital finance or the supercomputers might even further enhance the crypto space, who knows.

It is very difficult, cryptocurrency technology is backed by Blockchain, and the only thing that can compete with it is what we call quantum computing, and even so when it is in its first developments, it will not be 100% ready to face Blockchain codes, however, in an eventual advance of quantum technology, it can leave behind certain security algorithms that can break one or another code, but I think that by then, blockchain will be armored with AI and with very good security quantum.

Unfortunately, no one knows what will happen next. As for new technologies, if we look into the past, we will see that many technologies that were earlier are still being used now. This makes us understand that even if there is a new technology that is better than the blockchain, this does not mean that the blockchain and cryptocurrencies will disappear. I believe that the blockchain and cryptocurrencies will work for as long as their creator laid down, or more precisely, until they complete their task. In any case, I believe that it is too early to talk about the replacement of blockchain and cryptocurrencies.

Before you say about technology, you should first study the definition of technology works for what and how.
Sometimes you need to read about technology.

Crypto is, digital asset using technology, technology can't kill, thinking it's intellectually not literate.

I have just answered another similar question just an hour back. First of all, I am surprised to see people really think that Bitcoin or cryptocurrency is the end of currencies like we will always now use this technology in our economy. This is a wild thought in itself, FIAT too came one day and people thought that this is it they have a solution that will last forever but technology gave us crypto a better alternative, so obviously a time will come when even cryptocurrencies would get old and there will be a new technology which will replace it and replace our way of transacting with each other. Will it Kill crypto? yes, it will but definitely, in a positive way, it's not that you will lose all your money and that stuff. Should you be worried? Not at all, I don't see such strong supercomputers coming in for the next 20 years which could overtake crypto.

Yes, our technology is continuously evolving and developing but believe it or not, even cryptocurrency is also improving and developing so I don't think things like that could happen. The decentralized cryptocurrency is also adaptive about the changes so if the latest technology development would affect crypto, I'm sure that it would change features to keep it more secure.

The new tech will not kill crypto, crypto was decentralized and it can't be killed except the world will have no electricity to keep the network will be alive. This is the only way to kill crypto and i don't even think if the new tech will be a threat for the crypto. It's likely the new tech will be integrated with the cryptocurrency. Any new tech will not be perfect and there will always be a hole.
You can't argue that if there will be a better tech than crypto. Remember that the development of new tech will always be getting inspired by solving the problem that exist.
Supercomputor was not a threat for the crypto and don't worry. It needs thousands of years and it's not matter of days. it's a false statement.
when new technologies adopt what crypto brings. I guess that won't be a problem. but those who develop new platforms with possibly similar systems and take over the market adoption. of course, that could be bad for crypto.
crypto survives and continues to experience growth as market demand continues to grow. all can be lost when the community and the market begin to agree to eliminate something.

I believe there could be a possible way of decryption to any encrypted data. But in the mean time while we wait for the advent of such super computers we can still enjoy the little security guaranteed by the current Blockchain technology at hand but if by chance the crypto get replaced by another advanced technology it would not be completely wiped off rather there would be a correlation between both technologies

If that does exist, it looks like it will really kill cryptocurrencies because we currently rely on scarcity of supplies mined based on algorithms, if it leaks with technology you call it looks like cryptocurrency won't be worth anymore.

And you don't think that cryptocurrencies can adapt to new technology and continue to do the same even better and faster?! I guess this scenario is more likely to happen than anything else... of course if there are active developers and the team behind the project they already have the means to buy new equipment at this price (and maybe the prices of some coins will be even higher than now when this happens)! So I don't worry about advanced technologies, cause crypto can handle it, and what more advanced technologies can make it even better probably!

Does the new technology also have the nature of crypto and blockchain? If the new technology also has the nature of crypto and blockchain then it cannot kill crypto, it can only compete.
If it doesn't have the nature of crypto and blockchain, it also can't kill crypto because it's not a rival.
Just like today with the existence of crypto, will Fiat become extinct? Of course Fiat can run well and in tandem with crypto even though it has the same function.

there is always chance that this kind of technology advancement that could kill blockchain happening in the future but i see no possibility for it to happen for now. The blockchain can be considered as a tech that can be evolved with more development and this is also can be integrated with the various tech.
remember that technology always evolves every year, right now we have quantum computers in the future we might have something even stronger than that technology.
despite of that you should also remember that regardless of these technology advancement blockchain is also having its development periodically updated
you could say that blockchain will have never ending development so maybe it could go against technology evolution.

that's a false rumour. Super computer already exist and why crypto is still alive? there are lots of reasons to explain this thing but this will take a week to debate about this. You can read a thread that already made by someone in the past like this https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/i-dont-believe-quantum-computing-will-ever-threaten-bitcoin-5157696
that's very well explained that if quantum computing aka super computer was not a thread for crypto nor bitcoin. You just mis understand about that.

Lol this is just your theory and it never proven. It seems like that you didn't understood perfectly how crypto works and how crypto was even become quantum computer resistant caused by the implementation of SHA. Super computer will never kill crypto and it's better for you to read more literature rather than try to create a non sense speculation like this. So many people didn't even know how this works.

Also I heard that super computers can get through all crypto wallet keys easily in a matter of days, true or false?
false. People never try to get a proper resource about that. There was also quantum computer resistaince. It's better for you to read about what it is. I hope that will give you at least a small insight about that.
Even some members called that as a reason why the dump happened. What the heck.

It looks like this is the news that the price of cryptocurrency is dropping. I've long heard this news about intelligent computers that can break mine algorithms quickly and penetrate wallet defenses, but until now there has been no such technology.
Yup, this news is not new so what makes you think that this is the reason why crypto is declining? There might be other  reasons that affects the growth of crypto but other than that, it is pretty normal for crypto to went in bearish mode. I'd say that we are now in the future, it is now 2022 and technologies have now evolved but there is no report of people that lost their cryptos because of this.

If there are reports of lost cryptos, that's a different case, it maybe from hacking, scamming and human error. advance technology is needed only to improve the way we lived but not to be use to destroy and make advantage of someone else.

Not all new technologies are related to finance. And there are no new directions in the financial sphere yet. Therefore, for now, fears for cryptocurrency are unnecessary here. Cryptocurrency has just begun to develop and it does it quite quickly. It looks like it still has a lot of potential for use.
As for technologies such as quantum computing, there are different opinions in this regard, including those that are not entirely pleasant for cryptocurrency. Quantum computers have already appeared and their power is growing. Theoretically, there is a danger to the existence of cryptocurrency, but no one knows what will happen in practice.

When super computers become that advanced, crypto will simply move on to a new stronger algorithm. It is all based on math in the end and the power of computing has limits no matter how fast they become. You just throw a few more zeros at the end of the equation and those new computers won't be able to hack it anymore. If those computers become that fast, you'll have many other problems anyway. Your bank accounts, your passwords all will be gone instantly. So, don't lose your sleep over it.

Cryptocurrency is going to be banned when it is a threat to people. There is no need to invent new advanced technology to kill it. But yes, cryptocurrency can be taken forward by inventing more advanced technology.
On the other hand, with the ban, I actually feel that it will be a waste that will not have a big impact because there are still many countries that do recognize and even adopt this crypto.
because for me crypto can be a double-edged sword where when we know the system and how crypto works, we will benefit from it.
on the other hand, when we just follow the hype and don't understand the system in it, it's not a profit but a loss that is waiting in front of our eyes.
but indeed with increasingly sophisticated technology, on the other hand, it will benefit from crypto itself

I believe more that future technology will collaborate with cryptocurrencies than kill crypto itself. as we see today, technological developments such as metaverse, nft, and others, all involve blockchain technology which means it leads to crypto. So, I think that, today's technology developers, are trying to combine their new technology designs with cryptocurrencies. So, I don't think it will kill crypto, but make it more popular.

There will always be innovation in new technology and when that happens we might see better methods than cryptocurrencies in covering the topic of decentralized financing. However that cannot stop another system from being used. Essentially a system does not die out unless the people using it stop doing so. I dont think bitcoin will end up in a reason to be stopped so it is a safer bet. But altcoins do die out when their use stops and because majority of altcoins have no use case, the end result becomes similar.

The quantum computing argument has been debated and the essential gist of this is that it will take a long time to actually develop and if it does, why would the creators attempt to use it for a malevolent purpose of stealing someone else's money? But the real thing is that it is a long way in future and by that time bitcoin will have already reached a much more important status.

I am not sure if that is right or wrong but we know that technology will always grow and evolve to better help humans in their lives. We need to adapt to the current situations to use the benefit of the technology. Related to supercomputers, I think the technology still needs development. The supercomputer will not produce massively since that will cost too high, but that can happen in the future when they have a cheap material to support that supercomputer. You do not have to feel worried about that as you only need to do what you think can benefit you.

Why do cryptocurrencies have to be run down by them? First, cryptocurrencies will kill the banking industry, and now this. Does it have to be like that as always? I am looking forward to both ends working together and not killing one for the other. That will be better right? Banks becoming faster and more secure and cryptocurrencies are injected into the new technology. None should be killed or erased but instead improved.
And I doubt that "advanced technology" will be a perfect one, there will always be flaws.

Cryptocurrency is going to be banned when it is a threat to people. There is no need to invent new advanced technology to kill it. But yes, cryptocurrency can be taken forward by inventing more advanced technology.
So far, has Cryptocurrency killed many people or has it threatened everyone?
Because from what I have seen so far, Cryptocurrency is like help that comes to everyone who understands digital currencies and knows how and the rules of the game, so that someone can reap good results from cryptocurrency.

The world of technology is evolving every year what if in future a new tech is been born that can kill crypto or works better than crypto won't this kill cryptocurrencies?

Also I heard that super computers can get through all crypto wallet keys easily in a matter of days, true or false?
The process of creating a quantum computer will certainly take a very long time, it will probably take around a decade, considering the long launch time so I think their crypto developers will definitely continue to develop and improve security because they are also anticipating the presence of quantum super computers.

Technological developments are indeed very fast, who would have thought that there was such a sophisticated technology like blockchain,
who can carry out financial transactions without going through a third party. But it is very likely that in the future there will be more sophisticated
technology, so there is a possibility that crypto will be replaced by much more sophisticated technology. I don't think anything in this world can last
forever, so there will always be something better to replace it. But no one knows when that will happen, it could be 100 years from now. So we don't
need to think too far, let's just focus on crypto right now which can still provide many benefits for its users. Regarding super computers that can pass
all crypto wallet keys in a matter of days, those rumors are not true, it is spread by crypto haters, who want crypto dead. But don't worry,
many parties have tried to kill crypto, but always ends in failure. So there is no need to hesitate to invest in crypto, because until now crypto is
still proven to provide many benefits for those who own it and use it.

Regardless, the idea was so advanced. While technology evolves, also expect that there will an improved version of crypto "in general".

Can we elaborate more on your thoughts so we can have a better response here?

What do you expect or anticipate to happen in the future regarding advanced technology?

For now, this is just a theory and speculation, although we have records of people speculating that Bitcoin and Cryptocurrency will be obsolete but, it turns out the other way around, for something that can kill or make Cryptocurrency to go obsolete, we have to know what is it and what makes it better, adoption and enhancement of Cryptocurrency will continue as long as the so-called something that can kill Crypto does not have a concrete idea on what it will be.

I don't think that it can kill crypto because the news about the computers that can bypass all keys easily is also not necessarily true. I mean every technology must be designed as well and secure as possible like blockchain technology and it will be difficult to break into it. Even if many new technologies emerge with their respective sophistication in my opinion it will not kill crypto. But if the technology is more sophisticated and in the sense that it can also help eradicate crime in the crypto world then i think that will be very helpful.

For now, it is too early to tell. Before, the fud that quantum computers will kill crypto is already known to many. But up until now, no known impact so far. We already have quantum computers so don't know if they are already testing the vulnerability of blockchain tech. There are even projects that are introduced here saying they are quantum resistant projects. But we can't deny the possibility in the future that a sophisticated technology may wiped out crypto. But for now, it is far from happening.

Can you give me the source? I am also curious about this.
What I am thinking is about the possibility is a global catastrophe that hit the entire world on this earth that turns off all technology and makes us return to ancient times again. Sorry, I'm just kidding.

Well, actually, there may be always a new era of technology, but until now, we still don't know what exactly will make the crypto world dead. And I personally have small belief about that super compter to do that. It is not logical. And even that can happen, what is the goal? Crypto world is now very complicated, not only about one or two things. But this has involved so many parties, technology, varieties of technology-based on blockchain, and others.
We also know that it is not only about coins or tokens, but also other reliable projects such as NFT and also Metaverse that is also spreading and happening toward this crypto world. Crypto world is also always developing, it will be or even not be same again with previous years, and there will be always updates again and again.

God created the world to grow and evolve, close your eyes for a second or two and imagine how we got here, a lot of technologies have given way for crypto to be here today, so it won't be out of place if crypto has to one day, give way for a better technology to take its place, it is called growth and advancement.

You mean Quantum computers,? Well, alot have been said concerning this computer but I've not really sat down to research about it which I will still do in my spare time, but for now, I honestly hope it's not as powerful as people are likening it to be.

Cryptocurrencies are still in a very early stage I would say since it is not yet widely adopted.
If a new technology is developed it only means that a new form of payment method/trading asset is created.
I am pretty much sure that it will not be quickly adopted since cryptocurrencies itself is still not widely adopted.
By the time the new tech is evolved, new projects will emerge in the crypto sphere which will tackle the new tech being developed.
We will also get enough time to evaluate which technology is better and potential in the long term and will get ample amount of time to switch over.
It is quite obvious that if the new tech is far better than cryptocurrencies then people will move over to it.
But I hardly think there will be a new tech in the next 20 years which will be able to surpass cryptocurrencies.
I would guess that people are talking about stuff like quantum computing. Not that it is out yet, but it could be one day, or at least that is what people are saying. In that case, even just one of them would be enough, we would see a big big problem with a single quantum computer managing to crack everything, but that is probably a problem for everything and not just crypto. All of the worlds passwords would be in trouble, all websites would be in trouble, whoever gets their hand on a quantum computer would be in big big trouble.

This is why there are so many securities in place for the works of it, you can't just make one in your home, that would not work. I guess it would not come down to crypto being broken by quantum computing anytime soon, and even if the danger is there one day, we could easily implement something that could stop a possible attack as well.

Quantum computers not super computers are the ones that could break the cryptography protecting bitcoin, however this is also true for banks and for governments so not only this market will be affected, however there are already algorithms that can beat those computers, so if it seems as if those computers are finally ready to be released then the developers will update bitcoin with an algorithm like that.

And about something better coming along that is a risk that exists everywhere where technology is involved, so could something better appear out of nowhere similar to what happened with bitcoin? Yes, but there is no way to predict when that will be the case so there is no point worrying about it.

Of course any advanced technology is only advanced for the time being. At some point it becomes old and redundant. This holds true for anything. Will crypto exist in 1000 years? I doubt it. Will the internet exist in 1000 years? I doubt it. What will exist in 1000 years will be the next evolutions of crypto and the internet. What that will look like is impossible to tell now.

If youre asking if todays crypto can be destroyed with advanced tech? I have yet to see such a tech. It does not exist. So, no.

Crypto can't be killed as long as there are two nodes that are still operated to make the blockchain keeps running and don't you understand what meant of decentralized? That means crypto can't be killed easily.

Also I heard that super computers can get through all crypto wallet keys easily in a matter of days, true or false?

Yes. Why would someone not use better technology in terms of efficiency, utilities, and use cases, if there are a brand new of something revolutionary.

False. It might happen in the future, but of course, there will be an attempt to mitigate that.

Crypto-currency is a blockchain based technology. Cryptocurrency especially Bitcoin is a peer to peer network that people can easily use and people have easily believed in crypto survival and it is now the most expensive currency in the world so I do not think that Bitcoin or any other alternative to cryptocurrency could ever come. But it may be that more new technologies will come in the future but they will have to be cryptocurrency related. Otherwise they will not gain popularity

In my opinion, these encryptions can be decrypted with quantum computers, because they are really fast. But I think there will be a solution to this, they can model much more secure wallets, which I think they are even working on. There will be such unhackable hardware wallets in the coming years. Technology does not only develop unilaterally, it follows each other. So I'm totally comfortable with it, you don't have to think about it.

if according to my understanding nothing can kill crypto because crypto technology will automatically follow steps that can save crypto but technology that can hack private systems that own crypto will all exist. because the value of crypto assets is very.high so it requires security in order to save crypto the assets.

Are you talking about quantum computers? theoretically it can break bitcoin's SHA-256. However, we all know that bitcoin could be one step ahead of the game. If quantum computers would be available in the next 10-20 years then perhaps the devs are going to make it more hack proof in the future. Besides it can only hack a bitcoin address if it knows the public key, as far as I know.

There is a good thread about it here; https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/i-dont-believe-quantum-computing-will-ever-threaten-bitcoin-5157696

If tech evolves, you can also expect the protocols to evolve. Even Bitoin, the one called ancient tech by altcoin enthusiasts, keeps improving. If I'm not mistaken, it has the most active community of developers. If you want, you can also check the many Bitcoin Improvement Proposals (BIP).

Yhup every year technology is evolving, but there's no way crypto will not become advanced as well if that times happen since its the most advance program nowadays.. And perhaps all the people behind of these crypto will become aware on such scenario if however  there's is someone implement a crypto killer in the future.. There's always a way to be honest wherein just don't underestimate thus people who invented crypto space because they're brilliant as well more than what you think.

Think for a few moments about what you asked,,, if what you heard was true, would any of us still be on this forum today using crypto?

This is obviously a hoax. Do you think microstrategy and other institutional investors will still trust and invest in crypto if there's such a thing like this. And also a link to source for reference on what you are talking about so that this discussion will have a sense since it just look like that you are just a making a topic here to threat people here to avoid investing on crypto anymore.

Why would there will be a new technology that will kill crypto at the first place? Who will waste there resources just to bring down crypto while government are now starting to acknowledge the use of crypto, blockchain in particular.
Yeah right, at least give us a valid source for what you're saying.
When the world of technology develops, of course, security systems, especially crypto wallets, will also experience changes in line with the needs for their development. So I don't find the underlying reason for what you're saying.

It makes sense but I don't think it will kill the crypto industry that fast and Im sure the industry will cope with that threat and that's for sure because the underlying technology that crypto was using is also evolving through time so it means a lot, those so-called quantum capable computers were still in prototype development and it takes time before it was perfected.

Then it will be able what it has to do. There has been a lot of talks about this topic in the past but until now, there's none of them in existence, or if there is already one in existence it doesn't have to kill crypto. They're talking about the quantum computers that shall crack the consensus algorithms like PoW. That's what they are telling but technically, I lack knowledge about these technologies that could eliminate crypto. But, the real question is why they have to do so? It could be true but don't believe too quickly with the information that you have just seen on the web. I think we're still far from it happening.

Even if that was to be true, why are they only concerned about cryptocurrency, will these supercomputers also be able to get through other financial accounts too, or are they just being developed to kill crypto? I understand how most of these people believe that crypto is a threat to the financial system hence trying to bring it down by any ens necessary but this shouldn't be the case.
