I agree. I found those resources too and wish there was better educational material on the matter because it seems that drivechains have a lot of value to offer. The way I interpret drivechain is that it enables technical trade-offs for new things to be tried and tested.

Take this analogy for example. Without sidechains Bitcoin is Walmart (has the ability to offer almost anything but you know what you’re getting is not the best). The drivechain turns Bitcoin from Walmart into a mall. Instead of being a jack of all trades coin, different desired technical feats can be fine-tuned to best address what’s needed to be done. In the case of the analogy, specific stores in the mall would offer an expanded selection of certain types of items while still staying under the same roof (drivechain- still staying on the same blockchain).

I see similarities to the ERC20 tokens as well. Perhaps ERC20 tokens was merely wave 1 of the altcoins and drivechain tech. will compel wave 2 of the altcoins where with every new wave there is an increasingly greater constructive value-add happening and less scamming. Hopefully both domains will end up successful though.

No one have an idea about this? I was also on BlockStream site to see their new satellite thing and I saw on the footer something about Sidechains too, are they the one developing this as well? I thought this was proposed by an independent developer.

I read a couple of articles[1][2] regarding this Drivechains but I didn't fully understand so If you someone could simplify things, I would really appreciate it. My understanding (which could be wrong) is that could be the same thing as ERC20 token for Ethereum?
I also want to know why both Peter Todd / Luke-Jr believe that the sidechains will be insecure as stated in the first article. I believe both these people have technical background so how come they 'misunderstood' something like this.
