I get the feeling new people just want to invest in "something"  crypto and they dont know how to evaluate so they are following the volume and price increases.  They dont want to miss out.  And this is only the beginning.

Just a quick note, Stellar Lumens is just being pumped, I bet that it won't be heavily traded, or above 500sats in 6 months.

Money is moving in though obviously. Bitcoin is near its all time high and Alts are still very high, even if they have come off the boil a little in the last week.

As prices rise and don't then dump, people start to get used to the new high prices. I see $1750 now and think it is normal, I used to think $1000 was a dream price. When the price stays high, they will invest in the hope of further rises, then the cycle can start again. It is an exciting time in Crypto. My once fairly small investment has taken over my portfolio. I still don't want to sell though, I am a happy holder!

"So who are these new buyers?  It doesn’t matter, but it seems likely that many of them have never heard of the altcoins. Last week they want to buy Bitcoin at $1800, but neglected Litecoin and his siblings at far cheaper prices.  I don’t think that this ignorance will continue forever.  One day in the not-distant future money will likely be pouring into the altcoins as well."

Do you agree with this logic here? Feel free to discuss.

For me, I don't think they are ignorance will the alt coin market. But some investors now trusted bitcoin more than altcoin that's why they are buying it even at the price of $1800. And also the price swing in bitcoin is too good for traders to ignore because they know that they are going to profit huge.
Money is flowing in from every single direction and there's a relatively small likelihood that it is going to stop anytime soon. We're probably going to see a lot of people getting more invested across the board as they slowly become comfortable with the concept of cryptos and what they do.
I just hope we don't have constant bubbles otherwise it isn't worth it, as people will get turned off very quickly if they only lose money.

Sorry I can't see the new investors blindly enter any altcoin, why would they do that when they can and did launch their own altcoin such as Zcash, Stellar and Ripple?
Can you show me one person here holding a billion Stellar coins? every big investor goes to launch a new altcoin from zero because they want their premine or whatever they wont simply invest in LTC and such alts which they don't control or own large amounts.
Bitcoin price rise caused by natural demand from market a few large waves of new comers entered at the same time because of FOMO.

Oh I don't think investors or traders are not stupid. They know the alt-coin market. New buyers are for sure coming from the Japanese. And as far as alt-coin is concern, they are just simply for pumping and dumping, for quick profit, while bitcoin is for long term investment. So if you are a trader who are for a quick profit here and there, go for alt-coins.

Greed is a beautiful thing. Or in the immortal words of Gordon Gecko "Greed is good!" BTW i still dont see any value in litecoin. Its not like everybody will just switch to litecoin if BTC has a rough patch. Litecoin will never go mainstream.

If bitcoin tubes, which I seriously doubt, the next logical successor would be Dash, not litecoin.  The market will want newer tech.

Frankly that's completely meaningless.  The price is only ever based on whatever information has found its way into the market as to what a coin is worth, along with speculation.  A "cheaper price" isn't necessarily a cheaper price relative to the technology that the coin brings.

There is trouble abrewing
people want more money and nothing can give a trader more profit than a pump and dumping altcoin, so obviously a lot of us are investing in these altcoins to make more profit.

profit in huge percentages that you can never find anywhere else in the world, 3000% in a month is indeed crazy. but also at the same time highly risky and at this point it is nearing the end of its lifetime. soon things will be reversed in altcoin market and they will get dumped.

the only thing that will remain is bitcoin which will continue on rising slowly.
