QuestionAuthority would probably be the first on the top 20 sMerit senders too because of his old topic. It would be interesting to see how many of the users that have send or received 50 Merits was banned from the forum. @dbshck is on top 5 of senders in 3 of the 5 categories, and if you put top 4 sMerits senders he would probably be there too with @suchmoon.

theymos is on all top five lists of Merits receivers. And it is not in any of the Top sMerit Senders.

There are lies, damned lies and statistics. MTwain
1. Introduction
I was a bit reluctant to publishing this analysis (it is after all Merit related, and we are really now in the post DT analysis era), but decided to go ahead since I found it interesting to see the individual stats for each person.

What I’ve done here determine the number of sMerit TXs for each forum member with sMerit activity, and break that down into piles by facial value of the sMerit amount. I’ve done this both from a Sender’s point of view, and a Receiver’s point of view, and created a large Google spreadsheet to share with the results at an individual level.

2. Overall sMerit TX facial value

This is something I regularly update on the Merit Dashboard, and publish here as a general context to sMerit TX amounts being sent/received.

Things that stand out:

a) The 16 negative TXs have been sent by “(Bitcointalk Forum)”, to counter some positive TXs that were considered abusive. Since the original Sender is a different user than that of “(Bitcointalk Forum)”, and they are very few, I’ve omitted them from the subsequent steps in this excersise.

b) 68,95% of all historical sMerit TXs are of a value of 1 sMerit. If I delimit data to 2019 (using the Merit Dashboard), the figure is 68,85%, so the value seem pretty time independent.

c) 14,77% of all historical sMerit TXs are of a value of 2 sMerits. If I delimit data to 2019 the figure is 14,24%.

d) There have been a total of 346 50 sMerit TXs, 15 of which belong to 2019.

3. Received sMerit TX facial value by forum member

You can access anyone’s individual stats here (Tab labelled "Received sMerits"):
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1cntO3kBqjikaq_D39jgSNc45OmxZ4FrlKEKBOusSPA0/edit?usp=sharing

Edit: The Google spreadsheet seems to eliminate the filters I created. You can add them easily using the filter symbol next to the printer icon.

Note that I’ve discarded the inclusion of the 16 negative TXs to avoid creating another set of negative columns. I also omitted converting the absolute values into percentages to avoid yet another 50 columns per sheet.

As an example, my individual data displays as:

Earned sMerits: 1796 in 816 TXs, with an average of 2,2 sMerits per TX.
Received 1 sMerit TXs: 487
Received 2 sMerit TXs: 155
Received 3 sMerit TXs: 40
Received 4 sMerit TXs: 40
Received 5 sMerit TXs: 48
Received 6 sMerit TXs: 6
Received 7 sMerit TXs: 4
Received 8 sMerit TXs: 3
Received 9 sMerit TXs: 2
Received 10 sMerit TXs: 19
Received 12 sMerit TXs: 4
Received 15 sMerit TXs: 5
Received 20 sMerit TXs: 3

It’s also interesting to play around and sort the data by any column to find out the top sMerit Receivers by any column (not too fast though; needs 10 seconds to sort by a column). For example, doing so we get to see that:

Top Merited: theymos (3939), LoyceV (1951), DdmrDdmr (1796), satoshi (1696), suchmoon (1628)

Top TX receivers: theymos (1418), LoyceV (1033), Last of the V8s (1002), suchmoon (886), micgoossens (848)

Top Avg sMerit Receivers: Skewed by a few forum members that have received only 50 sMerit TXs.

Top 1 sMerit Receivers: Last of the V8s (893), theymos (890), micgoossens (672), HairyMaclairy (671), LoyceV (661).

Sent 2 sMerit TXs: 86
Sent 3 sMerit TXs: 11
Sent 4 sMerit TXs: 40 2
