This new guy can be a white horse.

Do you mean as in "on the back of his white horse" = full of mischief?

Erm my mistake. It's a czech phrase for someone who acts as an owner of the company, but in fact it's only some guy from the street (or any stupid person) who becomes the owner just to face any legal problems for the company. Very often such persons are unavailable at their residential addresses or are foreigners.

The "fall guy".

What's the saying you mentioned in Czech?

We call such person "white horse" or in czech "bílý kůň"  Smiley

That's interesting. Where I'm from, in the military, a "white horse" is someone rich and untouchable.

What doesn't make sense to me is they're already planning on shipping the 2nd batch.  How come we, collectively, never heard of this shame of a company before and not to mention they're first batch?  Total scam if you ask me.  And for those who actually "donated" money to these people for their "so-called" product.  IMO, they deserve to get scammed.

There is one highly suspicious thing.
If you look to the listing of Anamur Silif s.r.o. at https://or.justice.cz/ias/ui/vypis-vypis?subjektId=isor%3a100180575&typ=full&klic=8x96l6,
you can see the change in the owner of the company. The change occured 12th Feb 2013 which seems to be suspicious to me.
This new guy can be a white horse.

They want us to believe in 3 weeks they were able to design the entire device, pcb, software, firmware and asic chips and already have them manufactured ready to be sold?

At this point they have nothing to grant them any doubt of being real.

Why do you find this improbable, yet you 'apparently' fell hook, line and sinker for Cedartec who were offering in essence, the precise same offer..??

Guys, come on. These guys sold their CARS! If that doesn't prove dedication, I don't know what does! One of them even had to get a job delivering the mail, even though he has the skills to design ASICs.

This shows dedication to the cause, and I for one think they deserve our support. In solidarity, I too am going to sell my car on Ebay, in order to buy more of these miners! Who's with me?

Does that mean that EVENTHOUGH your are a REGISTERED company, you can STILL be a SCAMMER?Huh *shocker*

That reminds me of another thread...

Well, its not that easy... and don't forget this scam is literally a few hours old. I'm sure things will change very quickly...

Define "easy". It sure isn't difficult.

I mean in any country you can just wake up one day and decide to make SCAM out of your previously run honest business/company. This "project" is hours old so there still is a chance that company name was abused and FB accound was hijacked... But if it is meant seriously I believe legal action will come soon...

If you do it seriously, you engineer the company's bankrupcy. It all looks legit, you "really tried" but it was "just too much in the end and we had to close the business". In the meantime you paid yourself and your fake suppliers all the cash from the preorders.

It takes a little planning and is probably even safer than these 2bit photoshop scams.

These guys here are more into the shake n bake stuff, they won't pull much and will probably get caught (or get away with it but nobody will care - you'd have to have serious issues to buy into this). BFL, KnC OTOH...who knows what they will really do in the end.

The scammers probably abused name (and address) of an existing company from the Czech Republic. The company is legally registered and listed on Czech business register:

https://or.justice.cz/ias/ui/rejstrik  - just type Anamur Silif in the box

(sorry, AFAIK Czech business register doesn't have an english version)

Edit: full listing: https://or.justice.cz/ias/ui/vypis-vypis?subjektId=isor%3a100180575&typ=full&klic=ccbh1k

Edit2: The company is owned by this person: http://www.facebook.com/barreto.a.j And he proudly likes his own project... LOL

I've done the math, so you lot don't have to.

CedarTec miner + Anamur miner = projected 0.00000000BTC per 24h...

WOW dude, that's like **INFINITE** 1/BTC per 1/24H !!!!

I'll take two of each.

lol...love that there is no need for any cooling/fans on their "63 GH/s" model.  Maybe all the heat is dissipated out the two audio jacks?  Cheesy

And yeah, at least go to the trouble of making your own mock-up (the "50GH/s" model) & not stealing a photo of a workstation for your hardware. Fail.

You could have even have bought discount vouchers from them...

Company's claiming to have a working prototype should in good faith use a payment method like Bitpay to validate their identity and company and location of residence in case of emergencys.

This way they can maintain a level of anonymity for whatever reason while at the same time giving credibility to their claims.

These claims should be considered scams until Identity by a 3rd trusted party has at least been done.

Web site with SSH for domain control verification, company control verification and identity verification is a must.

This is the only way to start such projects.

Anything less is to be avoided and have an automatic scam label attached.
