I don't know what to say. McaFee is better at staying in the real life of programming and helps us all speak out loud about the future of bitcoin. Of all this, I think John McAfee should just sit. and let Andrew step in the battle.

There will be presidential election in the USA next year and so today we have many personalities both known and even relatively unknown who are already expressing and working with their desire to run for presidency with the assumption that they can successfully kick the sitting President Donald Trump out of office in 2019. The race is on for contenders to get the final presidential nomination of their respective parties.

Right now, we have Andrew Yang who is battling attention and support within the Democratic Party. Andrew Yang is an American entrepreneur, politician, philanthropist, the founder of Venture for America, and a U.S. 2020 Democratic presidential candidate. He worked in startups and early-stage growth companies as a founder or executive from 2000 to 2009. Among many other things, he is proposing the $1,000  a month free cash to all.

Then we have the popular guy named John McAfee who is known for his many outlandish predictions on the price of Bitcoin and promising to do something in front of the camera in case those predictions failed. John David McAfee is a British-American computer programmer and businessman. He founded the software company McAfee Associates in 1987 and ran it until 1994, when he resigned from the company.

Both guys are great supporters of bitcoin and cryptocurrency. Both guys provide cryptocurrency the opportunity to land in the mainstream media's coverage. Among the two, which do you think is really serious in running for the presidency in 2020 and who has the better chance of making it through the White House? Or do you think that these are just a bunch of jokers providing us the much-needed comedic relief from time to time?

I don't like McAfee at all.
Andrew Yang would be a better president than John, because he seems to be more serious and stable about his opinions. On the other hand, McAfee has made many false predictions (I wonder where he relies them) and from that point I feel that he is not a trustworthy person, even more if he wants to be the US president.

I think Andrew Yang has a bigger chance than McAfee, in my perspective.
Yang has a lot more experience and achievements than McAffe.
Yang also made a good move to campaign about a form of Universal Basic Income (UBI) for every American adult aged 18–64. Yang believes UBI is a necessary response to the rapid development of automation that is leading to workforce challenges.

But, hey we are talking about Trump, he cannot go down that easily.

I dont say these people bunch of jokers they contributed much for crypto space using their fame or public attention . But after lots of Horrible ICO's Supported by John Mccafe I am no more taking him as serious for anything . I am not sure about andrew . ITs all about US people's decision but for the crypto currency growth i respect both atleast tehy contributed something.

Lesser of two "evil'? I would sure choose Andrew Yang all day long over John "eat my dick" McAfee. I mean who the in the hell would take John seriously? What would he do when he become the next POTUS?

But I don't think that either one of them will win though, it will take them a lot of luck to be even nominated or get the nod of their parties.

I'm not into politics but I agree with your opinion, we need a president of the United States that is more lenient or open minded with Cryptocurrency but these two personalities will have a hard time battling Trump, the opposition needs a very strong candidate to beat Trump.

I support McAfee who has been a good supporter to the cryptocurrency from the beginning. Also he seems to be a more familiar face than Andrew. It is a must to go through the entire life pattern and what they've done to the society needs to be considered. These two could've done something to the people in the need, based on that will be the result.

I think Andrew and John are two great candidates, who can bring bitcoin better. I hope that both of them can defeat the trump in 2020, even though it's too difficult.

But I really hope that John always pays attention to bitcoin, and gives support to other crypto. This will be a good start for bitcoin in 2020.

This should be fun I think this is just a bunch of jokers providing us a comedic relief.
Besides who would really vote for them? Just because they are well known in the internet doesn't mean that they could just run for presidency,
People wouldn't really vote them even if they would really do it,There are so many other people who are suited for it than them.

John McAfee has a 0% chance to win, look at his past:

3) He had quite an alcohol and drug problem

As mentioned, McAfee started drinking in college, which continued throughout his business career. He also began experimenting with harder drugs, often during working hours. One day he bought a psychedelic DMT, and after using it, he felt nothing. He then decided to use the entire bag, which caused vivid hallucinations, paranoia, and hearing voices. He ended up running out to the streets, and hiding behind a trash can, with people approaching him and asking questions which he was unable to understand.

He continued using drugs after the incident as well, until 1983 when he started feeling alone and scared, which is when he decided to seek help.

4) He lost his fortune in an economic collapse

After quitting his company, McAfee decided to sell his shares, which brought him quite a fortune. With $100 million in his possession, many believed he was set for life. However, in 2008, an economic collapse that inspired the creation of Bitcoin affected McAfee’s fortune quite strongly, and he lost an estimated 96% of what he owned.

5) He sold everything to move to Belize

Later in the 2000s, McAfee believed that the world of antibiotics is the next big thing where he can make a breakthrough, so he sold everything and moved to Belize to work with the company called Quorumex. While there, however, he became convinced that he is being followed and watched, which eventually led to him losing connection to society. Later, in 2012, he fled the country after becoming a person of interest in a murder case that involved the death of his neighbor, Gregory Faull.

He was living in Guatemala when the country’s police arrested him for illegal entry, and after being detained for some time, he was sent back to the US.

And this: https://www.theregister.co.uk/2015/09/08/mcafee2016

people may say, "But these are news of the past, it may have changed." unfortunately the guy remains the same as always, just look at his twitter account and this:

McAfee to Lead 2020 Presidential Campaign ‘in Exile’ After Alleged IRS Indictment

people who want to vote for him, will need to think twice about what future they want for the US

just because they seem to support cryptocurrency it doesn't mean they should be favorites of crypto community members. for example McAfee is a selfish person who is only using bitcoin's name to make profit from it, he may seem like a true bitcoin enthusiast but if you read between the lines of what he says and look at what he is actually doing you can clearly see that he is only filling his pockets with money that he gains on the side of that popularity he gains.

I'm not familiar with the platform that John McAfee is proposing if ever he sits on White House. I guess he's just running to gain attention of the public and advertise bitcoin prior to his prediction that it will reach $1M by 2020 eoy.

And Andrew Yang's proposal of $1,000. I'm not living on US but I've read comments from people in there worrying on how he's going to sustain that amount if it targets all of the citizens. Politics is a serious thing in US and it's presidency that's being followed mostly by majority of the countries. Is someone from US can say on what's the current situation about presidency there and who's the people rooting for?

If Donald Trump can become the president of America anyone can  Cheesy, John McAfee could succeed as the rightful heir to Donald Trump as both share the same eccentric character when it comes to showmanship and media attention, i have not heard much about Andrew Yang to comment about him other than his presence in the crypto community, you really do not need luck to be nominated, money talks as it is evident when Trump made his plan to be the president. If either of them even stands out then it is going to be a transforming stage for the Bitcoin industry as it can create a great impact on the world as two people supporting cryptocurrency are racing for becoming the part of the regulatory system.

Neither have any real shot at winning. McAfee is a nutjob who the public would never trust, and Yang's ideas (like universal basic income) are just too far from the mainstream.

It's going to be Sanders, Harris, or Biden vs. Trump next time around. (Well, maybe not Trump if he gets impeached here)

Of course, it is already given that neither guys will make it to the White House. Against many established names with much bigger machinery and money,  a candidate with limited resources can be facing an uphill battle. But then again, in my opinion some candidates are not there to really win but just use the opportunity and the political platform to send the message to the electorate. And that is what these two guys are doing. Now the next is question: Are they doing disservice to the bitcoin community when after all they are destined to lose?

Well obviously there is no chance for them to win. However, any form of publicity is a good publicity. This might be able to push cryptocurrency awareness. But, I don't really trust Mcafee, he always wants to be on the spot light seeking for attention. But, as long as crypto will be exposed to the mass then just let him be. Let's just hope he won't be eatig his genitals when he runs for presidency. Grin

I think the USA had their fair share of scandals in the Whitehouse, so they might rather opt for someone like Andrew Yang, over John McAfee. How can you have a president running the country with skeletons of having promised to eat his genitals and also defecating in girls mouths as a sex fetish.  Huh

Donald Trump looks very good, when you compare him with John McAfee for president.  Wink  Let's be honest the president should be a political mastermind, not a celebrity.  Tongue

If for poor wordage you do not like John McAfee then you need to take a look at the present president. It is not what they say is important, but what they can do.

I do not whom should I favor at this moment, cause there will be enough time to discuss about the election, as it is scheduled next year November.

P.S - Both are good candidates for Crypto community.

I find Mcafee and attention seeker for telling a lot about cryptocurrency in front of the camera.
Andrew Yang is a way lot better than him because he imposes a lot of good things for the US. He has a lot of great achievements and experiences as a leader.
However, it would still be hard for them to bring Trump down that easy.

neither, vote yourself!
or vote Ron Paul because he is the most likely to make that a reality.

Math guy wants to put everyone more in debt by throwing out more money. (fiat)
Mcafee is also one for profit, he also may or may not be a drug addict. (probably not someone you want controlling nukes)

Ron Paul seems pretty legit if you read my post on him.

https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/vote-ron-paul-2020-he-will-make-it-so-you-can-vote-yourself-2022-5144607

vote people to vote for you, really is the stupidest concoction ever created, along side letting someone make the money supply rather than you.
