I remembered that reply from the other day and didn't check the electrum site before answering; my bad.

I think I post that, and I was also not aware that there is a 3.3.8 version for Android because Google Play shows the previous version. While there is probably not much difference in security, it is not clear to me why the latest version was not enabled for download through Google Play, maybe developers forget or they think that it doesn't matter too much.

Hello Ive downloaded the mobile version of electrum via Google Play store, and it is 3.3.7 version. The new 3.3.8 has no update yet, but can I ask should I have deleted the one Ive downloaded and stream again this new version from electrum download directly? Cause there is no update yet from Playstore. Or there is none difference on technical aspect even I dont upgrade it. Thanks.
You can see the 3.3.8 release notes here: https://github.com/spesmilo/electrum/blob/master/RELEASE-NOTES#L7-L13

Whether those changes are important to you or not is only really something you can determine, although generally speaking, it's better to get the lastest version. If you download the 3.3.8 APK directly from the Electrum website and verify the signature, you should be able to simply install it and it will automatically update the version on the phone without you needing to uninstall 3.3.7 first (I just tested this on my phone).

As far as I know, there's no difference. It is highly recommended that you check the signature of the file before installing it (you will need https://download.electrum.org/3.3.8/Electrum-3.3.8.0-release.apk.asc for this).

I can see the default_wallet in the list of wallets.

Since you have the list of wallets maybe the original wallet is under your "list of wallets" so find the other wallet with the same public address and shouldn't be "a watch-only wallet".

Because like the above said there is no way to get the private key of "watch-only wallet".

If you found the original wallet which is not a watch-only wallet you can export the private key on the settings.
Or if you have a backup seed phrase you can use it to recover the wallet.

Maybe OP should respond here for what you have done initially.

Is it possible to export the file to see the private key? this is the only wallet on my phone.
No. It can be done since probably your wallet is just watch only address, which you didn't use your private key or recovery seed when you restore the wallet, just your public address.

And that is all correct. If it says "watch only", then there are no private keys contained within the wallet file, only public keys/addresses.

@andrecalabrese, what were the exact steps that you used to create this wallet? Huh

Did you maybe restart the wallet during wallet creation?

First of all, is the phone rooted or not? There are several tools that lets you examine the phone file system, but in order to be able to examine app data you might need to root it. What version of android is it and what phone model?

The only thing you should NOT do is re installing another version. A very useful tool to clone the phone data is Disk Drill from celeverfiles

This is all wrong.

it is watch only because the wallet doesn't hold the private keys. It wasn't created properly.

Watch-only wallets are walelts which hold only public addresses.

There are many tutorials in the web about how to create a new wallet in Electrum. You might have done something wrong.

This is a tutorial for the the android version, pretty much straight forward:

image sources:

click standard wallet

Never show your Seed to anyone. Hide it safe, store it in a PAPER.

now choose a PIN and it is done!

Are you sure about the version you are using?

When did you download your wallet?
3.3.8 is the latest version available for download by default since July 11 2019. If you downloaded your wallet after that date then most probably you got phished and downloaded a fake one.

OP is using mobile version of Electrum, and latest version for Android is 3.3.7.0 from July 3, 2019. According to everything he posted, we're pretty sure he didn't install a fake wallet - otherwise he would have been hacked long before April 3.

How did you initialize your wallet? Did you create a new one or did you import the one from your computer? It looks like you have entered your Bitcoin address instead of the seed while recovering the wallet. Watch only wallets do not store the private keys so you won't be able to export them.
