Seems like a referral code which is against the forum rules, if you are not aware of it please edit your post ASAP with the actual shop link or don't post at all.

Ooops. Done. No ref code no $5 I think, but you can still sign up and use it, then first orders are limited to 15% discounts on anything.

I don't know if there is an option for this in your tablet but it would be a good idea to encrypt tablet in security page.

Required: charged at least 80% and connected to power. Encrypted. Yes it is now fully encrypted. No way to remove encryption except to do another factory reset.

Encryption protected by your pin or password. Electrum wallet also protected by a different password. Created brand new wallet, wrote down seed phrase on paper, showed QR code for master public key and put that as a watch-only wallet on both another phone and desktop wallet.

Bitcoin kinda mooning at this moment, so not really going to spend any, but when I do, I'll make the "change" go to this new wallet. I recently discovered I had some leftover corns on purse, so that's what I used to buy the tablet, getting another one for my wife's mother too, but bigger 8 inch for her daily youtube / netflix, non-crypto watching.

Got my tablet.

1. Factory Reset using buttons. Hold Power and Volume Up. Cleared cache and data and whatever from that menu first.
2. Open tablet, skip wifi, skip registration, turn off wifi, turn off bluetooth, turn on airplane mode.
3. Used Fire Toolbox to get rid of all bloatware (it deleted all Amazon apps)
4. Got this from official site = https://download.electrum.org/4.0.9/Electrum-4.0.9.0-armeabi-v7a-release.apk
5. Sideload and install it.

So far so good. I got an offline tablet that doesn't have any apps and disabled everything that came with it. It doesn't have any Google or Amazon apps except "Docs", I may just remove that too.

All telemetry disabled, no ads.

Going to do some testing on it.

I'm going to get one and try it. Will report back.

The intention is to keep this tablet permanently offline as an air-gap cold wallet. It has a camera so it can read QR codes. So it will never connect to the internet and I will download the APK from another device and transfer it by microSD card to this device and sideload it that way.

It should work connecting it to the internet and downloading directly from the electrum website using the default Silk browser (and people have added Google Play store to these devices before, so that won't be an issue), however I'd like to do a factory reset, install the wallet, and disable everything else as much as possible.

Has anyone been able to sideload Electrum to an Amazon Fire Tablet? I think I might try to do it.

The 9th generation Fire 7, 2019 release is quite cheap and it's a branded tablet (can also root it or install google play store if Electrum doesn't work well on it.)

It all depends on version of Android and it should be 7.1 on 2019 version so Electrum should work just fine.

I tried installing Electrum on some older devices with Android 4 or lower and Electrum was not supported, so I could only install Mycellium and Bitpie wallet.

Rooting device can be very dangerous especially if device is used for installing Bitcoin wallet, so you better know what you are doing.

Block halving is coming.
I tried to search on Google but it seems there are many bad comments telling that they can't install APK from other sources.

However, since the tablet is Android Electrum should be work just make sure to enable "Unknown sources" on the settings or go to Settings>Security>Apps from Unknown Sources.

You can download the Electrum APK from https://download.electrum.org/ they have two options the arm64 and armeabi just try both of them if one will work.

Farewell, Leo. You will be missed!
What happens when you just try to download the Android version of Electrum from the official store to your tablet? Does it not work? Those are .apk files on the official Electrum download page. Those Amazon tablets have their own operating systems but they are based on Android as far as I know. I think you should be able to run Android apps on them.
