On my S3, I installed TelStop from the play store.
It intercepts these calls and brings up a dialog. Tested it on a website which triggers IMEI  - seems to work.

Whoah ... hope everyone with Bitcoin Spinner, Bitcoin Wallet for Android, etc.,, have made backups!
I use the Blockchain.info android client - so there's no danger.

My SGSII is vulnerable. Time for people with wallets on their phones to backup!!

Also, a vulnerability in physical wallets containing cash has been discovered. It's called pickpocketing.

That is such an insanely obviously idiotic piece of programming that it surely must have been deliberate?

Well I read Samsung already submitted an update. Have you not got one?

And thanks, I will install another dialer.

I read about this because I'm thinking about getting a Galaxy S3 tomorrow. I read that Samsung submitted a patch so there is no issue now?  Undecided
My GS3 would be vulnerable, but I already had another dialer installed.
Matthew - get it - it's an amazing piece of hardware. Just install "Dialer One" and you won't be vulnerable until the patch gets pushed out.
