Hi All, a quick update from the devteam for you all.
As we knows the cracks are showing, now the milage is racking up were starting to see what would otherwise be minor issues causing nock on problems, rather than rush to fix some of them, ive been sat in a cold damp dark room watching things happen in real time and understanding these problems much deeper.
Its becoming aparant our code in areas is excessive, and coupled with the design overall its what you might call lazy, it takes to long to complete and delays other tasks, which has a nock on effect. Another issue is slow returns from the database, and even slower writes to the database.
In short despite our recent major hardware upgrade were running out of the things we need most, so the changes have been made, and deploying them will take a little time but heres what you need to know
Right now "StakeEngine" was a single application, this is no longer the case, we have separated out about 80% of the code to a brand new Application Layer affecitonatly called the StakeEngine Continous Execution Application Layer, this layer removes a ton of code from the primary application, all its logic, and every last ounce of jobs that have to execute.
The frontend will now do nothing more than serv data.
The application layer is websocket driven, and independent, no longer are all jobs executed to a specific schedule, they are executed continuously, without constraint (this has accounted for a 480% overall performance increase)
Your talking a lot about performance issues, when the simple things done work!!!!!
Quite right, but in this case the performance issues and "fat" code in some area are the direct cause of those issues, with sechuled jobs not finishing on time or in sequence errors are happening, or processing is starting out of sequence meaning data it depends on hasn't yet been prepaird etc.
I expect almost every major issue to just vanish, a quick list for you all
The withdrawals page, i know theres a bug in there, your being returned to an invalid page, this will be resolved in this window.
StakePayments will get slowed down to 6hour rounds, same with APT.
All wallets will be restarted and audited (updated as needed as well)

I also tried logging today and got the same error message, at first I thought it was my internet connection now I know it's not my connection.

Some people are experianceing a login issue were working to resolve it, in the mean time you may need to clear your browser cookies and history, this will help with your login requests, DevTeam is currently working on a more permentant solution and is the result of last weeks crash, any tokens your browsers holding wont be valid since the crash.
If you still experience the error hang tight, it will soon be resolved, there will be a notice on the exchange once its resolved.
Sorry for the issues here, but as we mentioned before all new hardware is in place and migration to it is underway, so hopefully the issues of the last week will kindly piss of to another server that has nada to do with us hehe.

APT is a mechanisim to power progress and give you the chance to earn a regular payment and share of the proffits we make. In total there are 1,000,000 Proffit Tokens, this supply number is fixed and represents 100% of the Exchanges proffits, 400,000 Coins are made available by this system and by means of promotions will eventually be in the hands of the community at large, whilst the other 600,000 coins are divided between the owners and operators of the AltEx Platform, meaning we get paid by the very system you get paid by.
Each week we total up the proffits which are tracked in real time, and perform some simple maths, we divide the total of each coins proffit by the total number of tokens, and then pay you based on the tokens you own, nice simple efficent and easy for everyone who owns to token to track and understand, this method is fully automated aswell so payments will happen as regular as clockwork.
Unpaid Rounds
From time to time rounds may go unpaid, but dont be alarmed, the reason is insufficent coins to divide, the minamum payout is currently set to 0.00000001 and thus when we divide proffits by tokens and its less than this, the job is aborted and run the following month untill its paid
We reconise and undertstand some coins will not work particularly well, or could take months to earn a payout, usually coins with ultra limmited total coins, should this be the case, or it becomes a problem, we will make some changes and pay those coins directly in BTC instead.

see your expected returns and some other data.

Now onto a slighty worrying devolopment, we have found the first big bug, that has resulted in MINOR, coin loss, a user was able to exploit a call on the faucets and get more coins than they was entitled to, they attempted to reportert this to use, but before we had a chance to complete the investigation, said user cashed out for a whopping
monster total of 0.03 BTC, i have already replaced this from my own coin supplys, so theres no need to panic. Now this is important for everyone else who finds bugs, whilst bug hunting is usually done for the good of others, the moment you put a withdraw request for those coins it become theft, and wont be tollerated. The irony in this case here
is they got 0.03 BTC from the platform, and i would have personally paid them 1,000 APT, Worth way more than what they got, so Epic Win for the assailant there.
Whilst incidents like this are totally undesirable, and looking at the way exchanges deal with these incidents in the past, we feel it better to just be honest with our auidence at large, the user in quiestion has been banned from the software, and we will monitor this situation very carefully, the faucets are offline untill further notice (should only be a day), the BitCoin that was removed from the exchange 0.03 BTC has been replaced from my own Reserves, No user balances were touched, the incident was between the faucets and our distribution user, so the coins taken were our own to begin with (hopefully that makes some sence).
So there it is folks, a good week from where were sat.

And it was a ABSOLUTE success ..!!
If you hold APT in your balance go to https://altex.ws/myaccount/aptpayouts the tab can be found at the top of your balances page and see how you went !!
remember if you hold only a small amount and your share was small it may not reflect as its rounded to the 8th decimal place !!

I see in this thread payouts for the ranks are different from signature campaign thread payouts like here you say 20APT weekly for full members while in other thread it's 40APT.
Also wanted to know that what makes people to trade at your site when everything they need is already being provided to them in services such as for example: cryptopia and yobit not to mention the big and major exchanges like ccex, polo, bitrex, etc.
I don't think the design or your hard work going to do much in convincing people to leave the already well established exchanges and join yours, however I believe if you spend some from pocket and sustain a competition with yobit in terms of advertising for long term then it might be possible for you but very challenging.
We are talking about income as much as 3 or 4 BTC a day in fees earnings though after 2 or 3 months of heavy pocket spending.
If you really want to earn 4 BTC daily after 2 months then you seriously need to at least spend 0.5BTC just to advertise daily starting from now.

1. The fee thing will be fixed, i hadnt noticed that.
2. Cryptopia Yobit whatever, there outright exchanges, we will soon be offering alot more than just an exchange, if you read the posts, youd know that, were no intrested in making anyone leave another service, we want people to come and take a look, if they like what they see they will trade, you dont steal an audiance mate you build one, along with a community, and you do that with hard work and effort
3. Spend some from our own pockets, who do you think pays for the hosting, the software the coders and everything else??? 3 years in weve spent almost $50,000 of our own money already, weve spent more than $20,000 on our new platform, and we all work aswell 9 to 5. This aint every gonna be a get rich quick scheme, its a long term investment, its a long term project, we build update evaluate, weve come such along way from 3 where we was its not even funny.
4. No your talking about income of 3 or 4 BTC a day in fees, weve never mentioned how much we hope to make, it dont matter to us what we make, if we personally, break even id take that right now, im so not concerned about my earnings, i aint even taking my cut of the apt earnings, they will stay in the pot for the users. 2 Months, another arbirary timeline, weve never mentioned where we wanna be in 2 months, and it aint there. In the next 2 months wed take 2500 new user signups and consider that decent progress.

Ok what it says on the official sig/avatar thread is what it is and we realise it takes time and there are more features coming that no one has , they will be revealed when we have finished testing them fully, as for advertising , that is coming , we have been at this building it for 2 years , and the people involved have many many years experience in coding/security/cryptos and trading , so be assured the platform will function as we want and will have features to make is a safe and enjoyable experience.

I see in this thread payouts for the ranks are different from signature campaign thread payouts like here you say 20APT weekly for full members while in other thread it's 40APT.
Also wanted to know that what makes people to trade at your site when everything they need is already being provided to them in services such as for example: cryptopia and yobit not to mention the big and major exchanges like ccex, polo, bitrex, etc.
I don't think the design or your hard work going to do much in convincing people to leave the already well established exchanges and join yours, however I believe if you spend some from pocket and sustain a competition with yobit in terms of advertising for long term then it might be possible for you but very challenging.
We are talking about income as much as 3 or 4 BTC a day in fees earnings though after 2 or 3 months of heavy pocket spending.
If you really want to earn 4 BTC daily after 2 months then you seriously need to at least spend 0.5BTC just to advertise daily starting from now.

and faucets payout only once per account , signature/avatar payout weekly as long as they run !!

Today i thought i would post a bit about some of the features within Altex.ws..
GAMES

In this game you decide what the number will be lower than, lower the number you think it will be that you bet on if you win the payout multiplier is higher, you can bet BTC/LTC/DASH and MUE at the moment, we will be adding more currencies to this in the near future!

Well after many months of development and trial and error, we are coming to a point were we will be moving from Beta stage to Live launch and have been thinking of a way to promote our exchange platform and also give to members.
After much discussion between myself and my partner we have come up with the following :
We have designed a in house token called Altex Profit Token (APT for short) , there are in total 1 million tokens which represents 100% of the profit pool of Altex.
60% of these tokens will be held by the partners of Altex as exchange revenue.
The other 40% 400,000 tokens will be available to users and the public and all money raised will be used to improve the platform for the benefit of all user's.
There will never be more than 40% available to the public. So what will happen is all funds raised that come into the exchange , from trade fees, coin votes, ICO's and from gaming will all go into a central pool and every week this will be distributed to all holders of APT, this will be in the form of the actual fee that was generated, it could be btc,doge or any other coin that a fee was generated with , this will be placed directly into the account holders balance for them to do as they wish with, withdraw, trade or whatever.
APT cannot be withdrawn from the exchange platform, there is a dedicated market for buying and selling and this market will always have a 0% trading fee.
Signature Campaign Details
We have set aside 50,000 APT for Bounties and advertising campaigns.

Now in order for your balances to stake and be tracked they must be on flagged as staking, all addresses in use before 23:00 GMT on September 6th are not tracking, to enable tracking and payouts, you need to basicly
generate a new deposit address and then send your coins to that address. Testing went exceptionally well, we will enable the payout processor a few coins at a time, so each day more and more coins will be processed in the run, untill eventually midnight everynight becomes the magic number. I have opened your website everything went fine, the interface is very simple and it is support for smartphone too. Although it were a little slow when i opened it, i think you must fix it becomes fast. Thanks for your feedback CraigWright, the slow is a little on the slow side right now simply because full debugging is enabled, meaning just about every action and reaction is logged to and from the system, this means the sites a bit slower it has to work much harder to do the same work, as the bugs become less, and were clearing them out at a vast rate, we can turn full debugging off for alot of the platform, only maining debugging on essential code or critical code. Once debuggers are unloaded and disabled, you will see a SIGNIFICANT performance increase, along with full cloudflare CDN Delivery we hope to reduce to loading times down to < 500ms , like everything we are walking before we run, enable a new feature, debug it, enable, debug, rinse and repeat :-) Hope this helps you understand why its a little slow at the moment September 04, 2016, 09:24:20 AM

New Features This is not a comprehensive feature update list, however we feel there worth special mention. -- Coin Voting & Insta List, Coin voting has been hugely popular although it hasnt driven alot of users to the site to date, partly due to our dated old look and the problems with the old platform, the new system will retain the voting by BTC but will add the option to place votes with the very coin you want to get listed, there will also be a brand new insta list feature, where for a fixed fee you can get any coin listed for a guaranteed 180 days. -- SockChat, brand new fully intergrated chat service no more 3rd party, finer control of users, there are no filters on chat your welcome to say anything you like, we will address this should it get out of hand, we firmly believe everyone is entitled to there own opinion. -- Improved Graphing and Statistics, we have performed miracles in terms of our stats and graphs whilst there still older am charts, we are working hard on StockCharts and HighCharts, you should start to see these in the coming weeks as the roll out begins, they are not active yet, as there is simply not enough data to produce a "complete" graph period. -- Dice and Bones games, just like satoshi bones or any other dice game, only we support any coin that's listed on the exchange, the system is proverbially fair, for dice the number 50 belongs to the house, a similar deal with bones where betting starts at less than 61k with 61,000 thru to 65,000 belonging to the house, we are working hard to add blackjack and poker to the system, and perhaps a game or two TV shows many moons ago, for example Price Is Right. -- Tipping (Vouchers) Some of you will remember our old voucher system, well that's gone because it never worked as intended not even salvaged we have a brand new tip system, allowing you to transfer or send coins to any registered user, in a matter of seconds, all with zero fees. -- Market Improvements All markets have had a lot of minor tweaks and changes to allow for faster order executions, orders are no longer executed on a cycle, when you place your order now, you automatically trigger the trade engine which will execute instantly if sufficient orders are in place. -- All New UI The biggest complaint has always been the CRAP website, to many cooks in the kitchen makes a mess and that's a prime example, the new site is superior in every single way, will scale out better into the future and offer a seamless experience rather than something that is seriously clunky and counter intuitive. == API - yes at long last we've completed a very basic API, we need your feedback here to expand and improve, we want to build the most comprehensive API out there, and do so securely, so if you would like to see additional calls get in touch explain what you want if we feel its viable every effort will be made to implement it. -- Stake We have enabled staking on all of our wallets, we enabled this on 16th 08 2016, in the coming weeks users will start to notice daily balance updates as stakes are counted an distributed on a very simple premise, every 24 hours stakes are counted and distributed per coin per user and paid based on your current balance, for clarity, no payments under 1 whole coin will be made, so if you have a dust balance you wont earn stake sorry, this feature will not be on or off, its on for everyone at all times, altex charge a fee for processing stake as you can imagine its rather intensive managing 50 wallets that stake thousands of times a day.
