The Amero is essentially another altcoin, But this coin has some key differences. It is designed to be mined out fast (about 1 year) In addition it is designed to be accessible to anyone. The block reward is just 1 coin with the final amount being 500 million coins.This means many many blocks are out there waiting to be mined. This drastically raises the chance of finding blocks while solo mining. Mining other coins is like looking for a coin in a hay stack The Amero is more like looking for a coin in a stack of coins. Some people are faster and have bigger hands but chances are everyone can get at least a few in their pockets. A few coins were pre-mined in development . A total of about 1000 coins were mined as a test and to get some checkpoint values. That is a 0.000002% pre-mine (if you want to call it that)
