BitBooks has had a major overhaul, adding books and checkout are now much easier and the backend for authors is no longer buggy as all hell Shocked) Service and support are now offered in this thread: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/bitbooksco-customer-service-417238

Oh, this explains why I didn't get any responses to the question asking about your site, it's practically brand new.

I really like the look of your site, and am working on a novel that I'm probably going to self-publish.  I plan on using your site as one of the places I'd sell it for online.  I was actually thinking of building a bitcoin ebook site like yours, but yours is similar enough to what I was going to do that I'd rather support your efforts than reinvent the wheel and create another site that does the same thing.

It's probably going to be a while though since I'm not really that close to being done with the book.  Although I've got a friend who is a great artist, I may send him your way about making book covers if you're interested.

Forgot to mention, we are also looking for people wanting to sell services to self-publishers, e.g. book cover design, ePub/mobi conversion, editing, proofreading etc. We'd like those product to be in the store as well. Please PM or use the site contact form if interested.

Signed up and awaiting vendor approval.

I presume I am ok to sell 'how to' and 'self help' style books?

Also, I am not actually an author but I do have the rights to the books I would be selling.

Approved.

Yes.

No problem.

 Cheesy

NB: an updated plugin has removed the custom field for your payment wallet. For now, edit your profile and place your payment wallet in your profile anywhere you like and I will transfer the ID once I get that field back in the form.

Edit: if you need me to add a category, please ask. I've put in some placeholder categories but can happily add more if needed.

After last weekend's testing (thanks to those of you who participated!) we've made some revisions and we are now calling on all eBook authors to offer their eBooks for sale. You set your price, and BitBooks takes a 10% commission. For users of this forum, we will lower that to 5% for all files uploaded in the next seven days (upload by midnight EST Fri 3rd May and PM this account for the discount).

We accept _only_ Bitcoin, although we can display prices in a number of currencies. Your customers can check out using Bitpay or direct transfer, and their files will be automatically available to them once the transaction is confirmed.

You can monitor your sales and revenue in real time, and payouts are monthly or weekly depending on volume of sales. During the getting-to-know-you phase we will issue payouts as soon as your balance hits 0.1 as fast and as often as possible. Currently we accept PDF, Mobi and ePub.

To join, visit http://bitbooks.co and check the box "apply to be a vendor" when signing up.

No, you cannot sell eBooks you do not have the rights to. We are looking for authors and their friends and advisers to create a marketplace for content in the BTC space. Authors with three or more publications are entitled to their own Featured Author page. Use the contact us form if you need help during the Add Product function.

As this is a brand new store dedicated to BTC sales, there may be some teething issues. The more people we have using the system, the better it will be, so please consider adding a file or two to the store and please use this space for feedback, comments, questions etc.

BitBooks.co has acquired resale rights to several thousand eBooks, those will be getting added over the next few weeks, but we want to open the space up to community authors before doing so. The general marketing campaign will begin mid-May.

There are some public domain books in the store for TESTING PURPOSES ONLY; please do not submit public domain texts unless they are originally translated or substantively different than their original form. The three public files will be removed as soon as all testing is complete.

Stay tuned for our sister store BitTunes.co: same deal, but for musicians!
