Another recent viral video, Jake Clark from Adelaide, Australia, aka "Pipe Guy":

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-0gED3rn2Tc

I contacted him at [email protected], I explained a bit about bitcoin, offered to give him $8 just to create a wallet.

No response. Anyone else want to give it a go?

On Facebook, he's even asking for PayPal tips: https://www.facebook.com/pip3guy

Edit: woohoo, got him to create a wallet!

I contacted several buskers found on Google, YouTube and http://thebuskingproject.com/ via email, and these guys in Ireland who promote buskers (BuskerTVIreland) to start using bitcoin. I only got one reply, from this guy, wanting me to explain more about bitcoin, and I did, but then nothing... You can contact him here: http://andersflanderz.com/contact/

Remember the "Best Drummer Ever" viral video? I contacted him too, but no reply... He's actually crowdfunding at the moment. This guy actually has the bank account info and PayPal in the video description so people can donate... I contacted him and explained about bitcoins, but no reply...

I think more people are needed to convince them, more pressure...

I'll contact http://thebuskingproject.com/contact later to start telling buskers to use bitcoin. If anyone knows of any other busker promoters/organisers/groups, let me know...

Exactly. I'd tip a street performer that accepts bitcoin on principle alone, to support him, whereas I'd probably just walk by one who doesn't. You don't always have spare change in your wallet anyway.

Exactly and the city I am living in has a busker type festival every summer and I'd love to see all of the buskers next year doing this!

What a cool idea! Buskers are well set to throw a QR code up while performing and this is a cool site to help them!

I figured with all the tipping going on on /r/Bitcoin, it would be nice to also support street performers (buskers) in this way. With bitcoin, they're no longer limited to getting pocket change just from passer-bys, now they can get tips from people all over the world, all that's needed is a video of their performance and a clearly visible QR code.

I take no fees, there are no ads, and I'm not asking for any donations. I just made this to support the little man who's asking for some change, because I know how generous the bitcoin community is. All donations should go directly to the QR codes displayed in the videos; there are no online wallets involved.

Getting street performers to accept bitcoin won't make much of a difference on a global scale, but it might result in a few interesting conversations, and if it increases their chance of getting some extra change, especially from other bitcoin users, and especially since they're no longer limited to a street corner, but the entire world, then why not?

I already convinced one band on /r/Busking to take bitcoin, and I pledged $10 of bitcoins to them, and I already sent $10 worth to another two-member band who already accepted bitcoin. Their video is currently featured on the website, so if you want, throw some bitcoin change at them.

I also emailed some street performers whose videos went viral recently, so hopefully I'll be able to convince them too, and maybe the next viral video will show the bitcoin symbol and their QR code to donate to.

So if you know of any street performers, let them know, let them use bitcoin! I'll throw $2-$10 worth for every street performer that starts using bitcoin.
