Hi, Easy-Team Smiley,
this sounds all really interesting.

What are your plans to let the world (and not only us crypto-freaks) know about the platform?
How do you get people attracted even if they are not into crypto?

I ask because I assume that is or at least should be a long term strategy, right?

Cheers,
Pundito

That is an excellent question and one that we have put lots of effort into. While we do plan to advertise in a wide variety of places depending on funding, that is not our primary strategy. We have made some really good connections with content creators that have a strong following in existing social and other media sites (YouTube, Twitter, etc.) that are patiently waiting for us to complete our platform at which time they plan to migrate to it along with their large amount of followers. This, to us, is the best type of advertising as it is the content that people go to the various sides for and when popular content creators start saying they are moving to our platform this is better than any advertising money can buy. This was actually the primary motive behind creating this system as many content creators are tired of not being able to really say what they want to in fear of being demonetized and/or banned from the various platforms and have been looking for a viable alternative. So far, we are the only system that I know of that actually solves these issues rather than just transferring control from one party to another.

We haven't set a date for mainnet launch yet but we will have the testnet active shortly after the snapshot.

Thanks for your information. When will the site be live so we can register? I would like to get some early adopter advantage!

Where is the official website of this project? Couldn't find from the OP though. I'm not really familiar with this EasySocial project. Want to check first their site.

The information about this project including a link to the white paper is on the easydex info site. http://easydex.net/easylife is the relevant page to this and has a link to the white paper or you can read that directly at http://easydex.net/EasyLifeWhitePaper.pdf

How do i invest in easysocial?

The ICO for EasySocial has finished but you can still get some tokens by contacting us directly. Also, there's still time to get some PB tokens before the snapshot. The best way to do either one is to email us at [email protected].

Hmm, I'm a bit confused.
You mentioned EasySocial and PBtoken.
What is the difference?
A

PB stands for "Portfolio Builder" and they are designed to build holder's portfolio. In addition to 20% of the initial supply of each chain in the EasyLife system being distributed to PB holders in the form of staked tokens we also distribute 50% of the market fees from our crypto gateway assets and a portion of the listing fee when smaller tokens want to list with us. The snapshot on Monday is to determine how the 20% of the initial supply of EasySocial that is going to PB holders will be distributed.

To fund development we also sell 20% of the initial supply of each chain in the form of presale tokens. These are the only way to get liquid (not staked) coins at the time of chain launch. Since these tokens are the only way for people to increase their stake in the platform then they should have a high market value at the time of chain launch and the people who bought the presale tokens are the only ones that will have them. These do not require a snapshot as one presale token is exchanged for one liquid coin and they are specific for each chain.

Great, So if I buy PBs tokens before the snapshot , i get easysocial tokens too. Yes?

I'm very interested in the MUSIC side of EasySocial and would also like to be an ambassador for an EASYTUNES Chain if you'll be creating one?
I also think that rewarding musicians indefinitely for their music, is a brilliant idea! and one that can create a much needed ongoing stream of revenue for us.

Music is definitely one of the ones we want to focus on and have a lot of plans for that. For one thing, we plan on creating a player that we will put onto all of the interfaces on every chain we are doing so users can listen to their music chain (EasyTunes is a good name) feed while browsing EasySocial, reading posts on the blog chain or editing a photo for the photo chain. Because of this, the interface for the music chain will be more focused on the musicians and the producers and we want to add lots of features to make it easy to collaborate with other musicians from anywhere and mix and edit your music right from the site. When a song is posted that musicians collaborated on together it will appear in all of their followers feeds and they will all share in the rewards of the song at a ratio they define themselves. We also have lots of plans on different ways we can bring value to the tokens associated with each media chain including the music chain. For example, on the music chain we can make it so a user can download songs if they send the musician some tokens and maybe even organize concerts and festivals people can get tickets to using the tokens which are used to pay the acts and organizers. Lots of possibilities for sure.

That is mad, I have a few musician friends and this sounds like it would be right up their street. They are on spotify and i tunes etc. I think they wee put off by the limit on payout mentioned before. I think that this lifetime payout style is much fairer and will attract a lot more people. Is there a plan to bring a chain on-stream for writers? You mentioned poets but a writer would a lot more space. If you wanted to publish even a novella it would be far in excess of any thing that a poet would put out.

I presume that the music chain would also work for podcasts etc? I mean its just sounds (not taking away from musicians) but for storage reasons it would have a similar requirement?

We do have plans for a writer's chain that may or may not be separate from the poetry and blogging depending on demand. Our plan is to gather a group of writers (pretty much any writer who would like to participate) and work with them closely to see what type of features they would like to see on the chain, how we can give value to the tokens and other things like that. The goal is to get the people who will be using as involved in the development process as possible and that will be true for all the chains we build.

On your question about podcasts and the music chain, we will almost certainly do those as different chains. For one thing this will help prevent the resource usage (mostly disk space) a node requires for each one. Also, it allows us to give them different features and such. For example, many podcasters will often do one hour that is free for everyone to listen to and do another one that is only for their paid subscribers. So, we plan to not only incorporate this model into the podcast chain but also make it so users can unlock the second half of an individual podcast by paying some tokens without having to do a full subscription. However, this model would be completely useless for musicians since they're not likely to let you listen to half a song then make you pay to hear the other half. They're more likely to charge tokens to download it for offline listening and would likely want to organize their songs into albums that users can download.

I would be very interested to see the writers chain evolve. This could be a great extra revenue spinner for "unpublished" authors. I am currently working on a novella and this sounds like it would be a perfect space for me to test the waters. how can I get involved in shaping the chain in that space?

Podcasts, yes, this way is great, to have both a paid and unpaid option would be a great way for podcasters to generate revenue.  I have a number of friends in that space, do you have any sort of lead times on that chain?

Also is there an ICO or anything that I could look at?

The best way to get involved is to join the community on the EasyDex Discord at https://discord.gg/4ZMPUcp and/or the EasyLife Discord at https://discord.gg/ez86EBs. We're always looking for more input from everyone. Once EasySocial launches the discussion for changes to that chain and the functions and features of the other chains will be moved there but for now you should join the EasyTalk hangouts on the EasyLife Discord Saturdays at 7:00 pm UTC.

As to your question about the ICO, the official ICO is over but you can still get some tokens if you contact us on Discord or by email at [email protected] and there's still time to get some PB tokens before the sharedrop that will make sure you get some stake in all the future chains.

Ok I am not on discord so I'll get something set up. My son is gamer and I think he is on that app.

With the site is it mobile friendly or is there apps for it like instagram?

We plan to make mobie apps for everything but at the start it will just be the web app. The web app is optimized for mobile browsers though.

Ok cool, so do you have a messenger type application or function like in FB. I use FB messenger but I dont like to use FB, I am not a fan of my data being mined AND SOLD. Is the easy social system data mining resistant?

We do plan on doing a separate app for the chat features which won't be on the EasySocial mobile app and probably for the wallet/exchange functions as well. One of the reasons we created this system is so that there is no centralized authority to mine your data. So, no your data will not be mined on this system by us or anyone else.

I know the founders of Easydex are creating EasySocial. What Benefits will EasySocial have with Easydex? Besides that looking foward to its launch...

Thank you

We're creating a simplified version of our dex to embed into EasySocial and all the other interfaces in the EasyLife system. As you probably know, EasyDex runs on Bitshares and the way we've designed the system all rewards get sent directly to the associated Bitshares account. With the simplified or "Easy" version of the dex on the interfaces users will be able to trade their rewards directly right away for any crypto or fiat we support without having to go through a complicated procedure transferring funds to different exchanges before they can actually withdraw money they can pay their bills with. We're even working on ways to automate this process so that it automatically converts your rewards into the asset of your choice to further simplify everything. The goal is to promote mass adoption by making it as easy as possible for people that are new to the crypto world.

Will EasySocial have chat/message functionality?

Yes we will be incorporating some really advanced chat features into not only EasySocial but, since your account is the same in the whole system the chat will be accessible via any interface in the system so you'll be able to chat from wherever you are. The chat features are more than just simple messaging as well. It will have a full range of capabilities including chat rooms where communities can gather, audio and video calling and more. Everything in the chat feature is encrypted by default as well except for public chatrooms.

As to your question about the ICO, the official ICO is over but you can still get some tokens if you contact us on Discord or by email at [email protected] and there's still time to get some PB tokens before the sharedrop that will make sure you get some stake in all the future chains.

do you have a working platform that I can see? Like maybe a screenshot or something?

We had the public testnet up for a while but took it down until after the snapshot to do some work on it. Here is some screenshots though.

This is what the main feed page looks like
https://i.postimg.cc/Xv1rdsmp/easysocialfeed.jpg

and this is an example of some of the customization you can do to your profile
https://i.postimg.cc/C1ZzNjpJ/easysocialprofile.png

we're doing some updates to it so you'll be able to do a lot more customization to your profile feed and all the features haven't yet been added to the main page so it will look a little different when everything is done but that gives you some idea of how it will look.

Oh wow. Finally! Power to the content creators.

Hell. I'm swapping my steem for this shit.

That's the idea... well, the content creators and the content consumers. Have to make it as good as possible for everyone. Since EasySocial is for everyone then that particular chain is more really broad based as far as governance and we want feed back and to hear everyone's thoughts and constructive criticism about it. For the other chains, those are more specific so want to listen to the people that will be primarily using those platforms to make it the best it can be. We're "only the best will do" types more than "good enough".

Please say you're not another Steemit!

Why can't I just use Facebook??

Are you any different??

Definitely not another steemit... Steemit is essentially just a blogging chain that other people have tried to shove other dapps onto which has pushed it out of the bounds of scalability. Also, the ninja mined stake in steemit has essentially killed both it's decentralization and, through the downvotes and hiding of posts, it's censorship resistance.

Of course you are more than welcome to use Facebook all you like if you don't mind your personal data being mined and sold to anyone who pays though you do have to watch what you say or they'll ban your account. On EasySocial you'll be able to speak your mind freely (within legal limits obviously) and there's no centralized authority to mine and sell your data. Plus you'll also earn crypto for your interactions on EasySocial so I'd say there's really a big difference.

Sounds fair.

I'm reading through all the other comments. I REALLY like the idea of unlimited voting. Although if we reward people with our stake how will that work? Unless you give us all unlimited stake too - that would work - IN UTOPIA.

I'm not sold yet.

You don't give them your stake... The way it works is new tokens are created with each block. A portion of them are distributed to the block producers (currently 10% but that is changeable). The rest are distributed based on the interaction in the system. Half of them are distributed to posters in the form of staked tokens based on upvotes that give them more influence through their vote on how tokens are distributed in the system. The other half are converted into the silver pegged assett (to ensure price stability) and distributed to the people who voted on those posts based on a much more complicated algorithm.

Okay. I like the idea of that. That solves a few big issues I have.

I have a couple of communities I head. Are you guys pro-community?

Yes we're very community oriented. In fact, a portion of the initial supply of EasySocial is reserved for the creation of community tokens. While each community will differ a bit depending on the community and what qualifies to receive a portion of the initial supply will depend on what the EasySocial community decides as a whole, the basic idea is that the community will have a community account backed by a portion of this initial supply and will have a token associated with it. They can then distribute this token to their community members who can then use them to upvote their posts and increase their stake in the system. This will not only help build strong communities on the platform but will also give the community a working budget from the liquid rewards gained through curating their members content. Any community is obviously free to create their token and use it in this way but to receive a portion of the initial supply that community will have to be approved by the users of EasySocial as a whole.

Okay. That's really awesome.

What's the chances of being a steemit-like whale!!??

This is actually an issue we've put a lot of thought and effort into. For one thing the distribution of the initial supply should be varied enough to keep any single entity to have too great of an influence on the platform to the detriment of the rest of the platform. However, the biggest difference here is that in order to maximize the profitability of your stake you have to actively curate others' content which in turn gives those people greater stake. This should help to more evenly spread the stake in the chain ensuring that it retains it's decentralized nature, something very rare indeed in this space.

Sounds awesome!

So EasySocial is the first chain in this EasyLife project.
Do you know what the next chain will be after Easysocial?

After this the next chain will probably be a blogging platform since that will take the least amount of development. This will work directly with EasySocial in that a link to the blog post will also be posted on the user's EasySocial page and user's will be able to read the full post from the EasySocial interface and voting on it from EasySocial will upvote it on both chains. After that will probably be the user-created media chains where there will be separate chains for photos, art, music, podcasts and videos that will all work with EasySocial in a similar way as well as having more benefits.

Nice! I'm really looking forward to that photography chain.

So you mention PB tokens that get a stake in the EasySocial system. Is there a possibility to buy in and get some of these? They seem valuable to me as you're telling that they're higher staked than others. Is there a market?

Yes they are available as EASYDEX.PB on Bitshares. However, most people really like to hold them so the sell orders are pretty thin. So, if someone would like to acquire some the best thing to do is to contact us either by email at [email protected] or talk to one of the admins on our discord server here https://discord.gg/4ZMPUcp.

PBs will not only get you a portion of the initial supply of each chain we build in the system but also gets you a portion of the market fees we collect on our crypto gateway assets as well as random drops when we list new tokens. Sometimes projects give us tokens to drop on holders too for promotional reasons and we're always looking for more ways to add value to them so they're a great investment.

Sounds exciting, Im from India and i am not really good with my writing skills.
Platforms like steemit is not really where i would succeed in.
I am looking forward to more real form of social media where im not forced to blog.

So how does the sign up process work? is it hectic?

It's only hectic for us who are developing it... for the user it will be really simple. They will just choose a username and password and they will automatically have an account in all the chains at once. This will also create a Bitshares account for them and all their earnings on all of the chains will automatically be applied to their bitshares wallet so they can easily trade them for their favorite crypto, fiat or even pay for services on any of the chains in the EasyLife system.

Wow, This sounds so Easy.
I'm fed up with the slow and complicated sign-up process of other crypto platforms.
It's also revolutionary that you connected the social media to the exchange wallet.
Now I don't have to do the extra process of sending the coins to the exchange.
its a game changer according to me.

So how will the voting system be? will our votes be limited?

No, you will be able to vote as many times as you like and posts will be able to be voted on forever. Posts will payout new votes once a week and you won't be able to change your vote on a post once it has paid out for your vote. This is also a good time to point out that we don't have any downvotes either. If someone posts illegal content then that post can be reported to the block producers or whatever governing body the users decide to create so it can be dealt with but making sure that everyone can share their opinion is really important to us and one of the main reasons we created this.

Sir, Unlimited voting is what a real social media needs, over that we have payouts that last forever.
I always felt limited with my ability to vote for my friends in crypto platforms because of the fact that we get only about 8-10 hundred per cent votes., while ill easily have about 30 friends I'm really close with.
So this is excellent!
Now we can freely share the love with everyone.

Can you tell me more about the photochain??

Sure! The photo chain will be one of the first non-text media chains since they will all work pretty similarly on the back end but we'll want to add different features on the front end for different media types and photos will be one of the easiest to do since it's primarily just uploading the image but we'll add some effects and such you can use. The technical specifics of it is that will make use of the webtorrent protocol to deliver the image to the end user. Basically, when you upload your photo it will be added to the disk storage of anyone running a full node and a magnet link will be generated. The magnet link is what is actually saved in the blockchain as well as the permissions you give it. The blockchain nodes will then also function as torrent seed nodes. This will make mining on the media chains very different than other blockchains. Since the memory usage is relatively low your more mining with your disk storage than with your GPU or RAM.

From a non-technical user's perspective they essentially will be able to upload their photos, optionally probably do some editing to it if they like, then post it to the blockchain. When they upload it they'll be able to set permissions whether they want people to be able to use it in their posts on other chains and such and set an optional royalty they would like from rewards on posts it was used. Then they can earn rewards when people upvote their photo. If their photo is used in a post on another chain they will get upvoted any time the other post is upvoted on it's chain.

So you mention PB tokens that get a stake in the EasySocial system. Is there a possibility to buy in and get some of these? They seem valuable to me as you're telling that they're higher staked than others. Is there a market?

Groan!

As I understand there's gonna be many single blockchains for all the different parts of the system. This sounds interesting and seems to be a quite innovative approach. But how does this scale? Isn't it difficult enough to handle one chain? I mean from the tech perspective.

That's an excellent question and one that we're really proud of as it is what makes the whole system work. Everything else is just use cases really.

The way it works is that the keys are the same for the account on all of the chains. This makes it relatively easy to keep track of which account is which and allows them all to work together. Each chain will have it's own set of block producers that will work with the users that will decide the specifics of each chain. A chain in the system could even decide to fork into 2 or more chains and so long as the keys remain the same. The basic meat of the system as a whole is essentially a protocol that allows them all to work together. So long as the protocol is followed then new chains could be created for virtually any use case and it would work the same.

As far as EasySocial goes, pretty much any type of legal content is fine. There will be chains after that that work with EasySocial (and each other) for different kinds of content. For example, you'll be able to write a poem in a writer's or poetry chain and illustrate with a photo you posted to the photo chain and that post will be in your follower's feeds on EasySocial. When you get upvotes for it it will automatically upvote the post in EasySocial, the poem in the writer/poetry chain and the photo on the photo chain.

I like that they are all linked. But what if I want one for work and one for play? Can they be separated like that?

Yes, you are free to create multiple accounts for different purposes. The only time you have to verify anything is if you want to make a large fiat deposit or do a fiat withdrawal where we have to legally get some KYC/AML data on you but other than that there is no account verfication or anything.

I know someone I could get to do the German translation (or hire so I could the bounty Wink)  - How many words is what needs to be translated?

I truly hope the world sees the potential of Easy Social, whatever language they speak.

It's pretty short compared to most white papers... we wanted to just say the important things and not a bunch of filler. I think it's somewhere between 2500 and 3000 words.

I am a photographer and I also make videos.
Its so cool that your making a seperate chain for us.
So how are we gonna earn in this photo chain???

So you're saying that that new EasyLife system is connected with a bitshares wallet? I don't understand. So I can just use my wallet and connect it to the EasyLife system somehow. Can you explain?

When you create an account in the EasyLife system it will automatically create an account in Bitshares as well. All funds earned from any of the chains will be applied to your bitshares wallet and you'll be able to trade them for crypto or fiat right on the embedded dex or you can log in to that account on any other Bitshares interface and trade them from there. To simplify matters for most users we will probably just have it set up an account for all users on bitshares rather than have them connect an existing account but you will be able to send your funds to your existing bitshares account easily.

Hi there I just came in to get the new claymore version 4 xmr and I stumbled across this thread. So is this more like Facebook or Twitter or Instagram or is it its own thing?

It's probably more like a blockchain-version of Twitter than anything though it also has some elements similar to Facebook and Reddit. Instagram, being image-based is a little different and we will have some image-based chains that will work with EasySocial as well, similar to how the blogging chain I mentioned earlier will work with it. They will also work with each other. For example, a blogger will be able to find a photo to illustrate his post on the photography chain and when he uses it in his blog post it will not only automatically credit the photographer but also when the blog post gets upvoted the same user will simultaneously upvote the photo's post in the photo chain.

Wow that sounds pretty amazing. So if I as a blogger create a post and use content from within the same chain or a cross chain I get rewarded and the person who's photograph or contents I quote get rewarded as well?
So if it's like Twitter is there a character count limit?

How would you explain EasySocial to someone who is not knowledgable about crypto?  What do you think would really encourage them to join?

I would explain it as another social media platform like Facebook or Twitter but has 3 main benefits over these systems:

1. Users earn rewards for the actions they perform everyday
2. There data is secure since there is no centralized authority to harvest their data
3. Censorship is next to impossible on the platform so they don't have to worry about having their account banned for speaking their political views.

Can someone buy easy token from open market?
What will be the vote value and how it’s depends and calculated?
How many votes I can place for my favourite content?
Is there is any restrictions for upvoting the same user twice or thrice in less than twenty four hours?
What will happens if someone purchase a lot of token from open market and will become a whale?

So do I understand this correct ... Easysocial is going to be a platform where you don't have to really blog, but more like the wellknown fb, but without restrictions. Let's say for example ... if I want only to tell that I'm happy today I can earn some crypto with that?

And what if I do want to write a whole blog with photography and all in it?

So if I have 1000 Easy Social Tokens And 1000 BTS Token held in my BTS wallet how much token I will get?

That depends on the exact numbers during the snapshot since we have no way of knowing how many of each will be in open orders and such but will probably be somewhere between 7500 and 8000.

This is something that has been discussed quite a bit.... Ultimately the decision, like all decisions, will be up to the community but the discussion seems to be leaning towards having a character limit for EasySocial to improve scalability while longer posts such as for a blog can be posted on a separate chain and will still be viewable from EasySocial.

EASYSOCIAL SNAPSHOT ANNOUNCEMENT

The EasyDex team is happy to announce that we have set the date for the snapshot for EasySocial, the first chain in our EasyLife system, to Monday, February 4, 2019. On this day a record of all holders of PB tokens and BTS will be taken so we can calculate how much staked SOCIAL tokens each one will receive. To qualify for the snapshot tokens must be held in the account and not in open orders. Exchange accounts will also be excluded from the snapshot so make sure your tokens are in your Bitshares wallet. 20% of the initial supply will be divided between holders of each of these tokens. While the exact number of staked SOCIAL tokens each holder will receive will be determined by the snapshot the estimated number of tokens is 7-8 staked SOCIAL per PB token 0.001 per BTS.

EasyLife

EasyLife is a system of inter-operating decentralized applications (dapps) being built by the EasyDex team. Each dapp will have it's own custom-built (graphene-based) blockchain that plugs into the Bitshares blockchain. Giving each dapp it's own blockchain not only allows us to add custom features to each one but also increases scalability and decentralization by spreading everything out over numerous blockchains. Each chain in the system will have it's own user-created governance structure that will vary from chain to chain. All user interfaces in the system will feature a simplified version of the dex where users can make use of our crypto and fiat gateways as well as an advanced chat system. Initial dapps will be in the fields of social and user-created media and the gig-economy and plans are in place for many use cases -- everything from code collaboration and repositories to video games! For more information about the EasyLife system visit http://easydex.net/easylife

EasySocial

EasySocial is the first chain in the EasyLife system and will be a true social media platform. Unlike other blockchain-based systems that are essentially blogging platforms, EasySocial combines the best parts of existing centralized social media platforms and the benefits of blockchain technology. This creates a platform where users can earn crypto through interacting with friends and family in a censorship-resistant, non-data mining space. EasySocial will function as the social hub of the system and will form a grass-roots based, user-created governance structure where everyone's voice can be heard.

TRANSLATION BOUNTY

We have a global focus and want everyone to feel comfortable using our system regardless of their native language. To this end, we have many things we need translated into as many languages as possible. So, we are announcing the first translation bounty. Anyone who translates the EasyLife white paper into their native language will receive 300 bounty tokens that will be redeemable for staked SOCIAL tokens upon EasySocial launch. Anyone participating in this bounty will also qualify for the many future translation bounties we will be doing in the near future.
