One of the biggest problems we see in crypto today is that it's not only technical, but the user experience is too fragmented. If you want to learn the basics, you should go here. If you want to learn about coins, you should go there. If you are interested in a particular coin or that service, you need to go over here or there. And unfortunately, the user experience of all of these different services are completely different. Then you throw in the fact that Bitcoin has forked a few times this year, shot up wildly in price, there are coins and ICOs everywhere you look... this can be really overwhelming for your typical average Joe. Our user experience testing has shown this.
We believe that in order to help ordinary individuals to get (and stay) involved in digital currency, we need to reduce the time and energy it takes to take their first step and to keep walking. Therefore, we created the Cheddur app to normalize the most common tasks under one roof, in an easy-to-use way. With the Cheddur app, the user to only has to learn a single user experience, and it will work for them no matter the coin or service they're interested.
Consider your average Joe who just heard about a new coin or service on the street. All Joe has to do is tap on the Cheddur app, search the name, and boom. Within 10 seconds, while still standing on the street corner, he can learn the basics, watch a short video, read reviews, and use the "Get Started" experience to join the community or become a customer. On a street corner (or
whenever and wherever you are); not after he got home from work, ate dinner, sat down at his desktop computer, and researched for an hour. When you have a question (we all do at some point!), we're there.
The best analogy I can give to what we're doing is what Yelp and Trip Advisor have done for small businesses. Yelp doesn't make the pizza, or cook the sausage. But what they can do - and what they do well - is connect businesses that do with potential new customers. They do this by personalizing your results to you, and streamlining the path to the information you need to make decisions.
This is the goal of the Cheddur app, as applied to coins and services. We live in this "meta-layer" of information and relationships, and we connect our users to new and exciting coins and services that they're interested in. We help you not only get started, but stay informed. We provide a single, streamlined user experience to do this, and over time our search results will become more and more tailored to you as an individual.
We're approaching a world where there will be millions of coins and services, and unless something changes, people will have a hard time finding the right coin or service for their needs. And on the flipside, new coins and services will have a harder and harder time being discovered. This is why we built Cheddur.
