To date, a prototype of the pool module and templates of libraries of chess games have been developed, however, the need has emerged to separate frequently changed code into a separate library, to connect SSL / TLS capabilities (non-standard solution, openssl, etc. are not suitable due to a number of restrictions and software requirements) , delegating some functionality of the module to third-party applications and scripts.

Accordingly, the launch date of the Pre-aplha version is postponed to March 31, 2022 (subject to the availability of financial capabilities and support, possibly earlier).

It was decided when launching the current version of the system to implement the planned use of the Ethereum network capabilities and payment for participation in the game with ERC-20 smart contract tokens, planned at later stages of the project. This will provide fully functional testing of the system in tournament mode with real players. Otherwise, the version is of no practical use.

Subscription for access to the test system with payment in ETH (1f206876592c5f70F33e3721d4B3498121C2Dfc1) is provided. In return, after the launch of the system, project tokens are provided - CHEBOX, at the rate of one purchased subscription to 10.

Hi. Thank you for supporting the project. Yes, the project is very ambitious, I understand that. However, not only will there be a super addictive game, but also work on the project.

I am currently preparing the release of PreMVP, this is just a demonstration of my vision of the project. I would like to go straight to MVP and already monetize the project, but resources are required (time, people, finances, etc.).

Place PreMVP on github in 1.5 - 2 months. But, I repeat once again, this will not be a working one, but only a presentation of the concept of the project.

As someone who plays online chess frequently, having multiple game formats can be really exciting as it gathers more players exploring the said unfamiliar territory. I remember, I read somewhere in reddit that the main programmer of lichess (he held an AMA) mentioned that he does not plan on making other game formats due to its complexity.

While I do think that this project is very ambitious with its vision and mission, I nevertheless support it; I really look forward to its creation and implementation. When can we expect this project to materialize?

I agree, there are a lot of chess sites. It is difficult to talk about the advantages and disadvantages of each of them. I am not suggesting the creation of a gaming site itself, but access to a completely separate server, or rather a stack of servers that provide multiple tournaments at the same time. A tournament in this case is a group of consecutive games in various formats. A qualifying round may be present.

The bottom line is that the site is created by a partner who is given access to the API. Subscriptions are not applied in this case, and they receive income from the tournaments held on their website using the resources of our system. Therefore, all control over processes and resources, including finances, remains with us, working in a decentralized mode.

It is to control the integrity and reliability of data that the TreeChain blockchain platform is needed.

The issue of controlling the use of third-party software and other software by the player during the tournament is very relevant. It will be solved as statistics on games accumulate, without which this is completely impossible. Some control mechanisms will already be in the first versions (qualifying round, for example), which will be developed and improved in the future. It also offers an initial, basic version of the server - MVP.

Just a quick question, what notable differences can you offer against other competitive chess online websites (i.e. lichess, chess24, and chess.com)? The problem with most online chess websites is having the dedicated number of people playing on your website. Most online chess websites offer subscriptions that provide you access with chess engines for checking and other tutorial modes as well.

However, I do see the potential of having tournaments in attracting players. The problem that I see is that, classical chess format held online can be quite dangerous due to the presence of chess engines. So, how will you address these issues?

General description

Chess is one of the most popular sports, the attractiveness and clarity of the game (in contrast to poker, backgammon) has not been lost for many centuries. Today, there are hundreds of options for the game, which makes it possible to develop a variety of their variations. And this is a fairly large segment of players from all over the world compared to all other board games.

Although the origins of chess are somewhat obscure, the modern rules of the game of chess first appeared in the Middle Ages. Before that, they were constantly changing, but then the World Chess Organization FIDE established universal standardized rules.

Rapid chess, various variants of chess, online chess and correspondence chess have their own little additions to the rules.

Chess is the oldest game and has long been compared to a military battle.

According to one of the legends, even the invention of chess is associated with the order of one ruler-commander who wanted to get a game, so to speak, a simulator of a real battle between two armies. And although living blood does not flow in chess, it is quite appropriate to imagine a chess player as a commander in command of an army of pieces in order to better understand the tricks of battles at the chessboard.

Do not underestimate new projects, their potentially higher attractiveness, greater interest in new and early game formats (for example, quick play, a fairly popular format).

The project focuses on maximum reliability, a high degree of configurability of game formats, the ability to take part in a tough competition that allows you to determine your level of intelligence, patience and consistency of actions. After all, chess undoubtedly reflects our actions in everyday life.

In addition, a good prize pool will allow the winners to develop their gaming skills and talents without being distracted by the external vanity of our crazy world.

The second point that initiators take into account is marketing. It is no secret that this expense item is dominant in almost all projects, and may be in second place after wages.

In this project, the emphasis is not on project visualization, although there will be a test site, but on interaction with already working sites in this topic. This will allow the partners of the project not only to profit from participating in the project, but also to very quickly deploy their own tournament project. At the same time, expenses will increase slightly, and the profitability of the site may increase significantly.

The project will not need multi-million dollar marketing investments, and investors and partners will receive very good dividends for a small investment.

Structural components of the platform

The MVP version of the system can be represented as in the diagram below. The system is networked, distributed, which justifies the need to rent servers for the needs of the project.


Software development plan

The planned development time for the MVP version of the system is 200 calendar days, including weekends and holidays. The start of work is scheduled for the next day after receiving funding in full, if it is not a weekend or a holiday. Otherwise, the date is postponed to the next working day.

Based on the volume of work on the development of the system software - about 1,000 components, such terms are the most optimal, and the quality of the product will correspond to the full version of the gaming platform.

The enlarged groups of system components are shown in the table below. Drilling into more than 50 groups is not the goal of the customization document. Technical details are available and required by project specialists.


It is permissible to restructure groups as the work progresses, which should be justified by the results of testing the options for solving the assigned tasks.

The entire development process includes three stages - design, programming and testing, which are carried out throughout the entire duration of the project.

Marketing and promotion

In the last 60 days of development, work is underway to attract network sites of partners - sites, as well as marketing activities to attract players and interested parties.

The main direction of spending funds will be precisely work with partners and their representatives.

Test tournament

Upon completion of work on the development of the system software, a series of tournaments will be held, based on the test results, the identified problems will be improved and the system will be launched in maximum mode.

Prior to the start of the main rounds, a qualifying round is held. Then the tournament is held in 3 rounds, according to the results of which only ¼ of the players with the best ratings go to the next one.

The qualifying round is held according to the rules of classical chess with a time limit of 60 minutes for each of the players, while the maximum game time will be no more than 120 minutes.

The types of games for the main rounds are as follows:

  • classic chess;
  • battle chess;
  • blitz.

The 4 players with the highest rating among all the participants in the tournament win. Moreover, the chess player with the highest rating receives the main prize fund, the rest divide the additional one according to their rating.

In the case of a result in which two or more have the same ratings, an additional round is held in the blitz format.

At the end, the tournament is analyzed and the rating of its participants is calculated. The rating of the participants is cumulative, which has a positive effect on the reputation of a chess player as a professional.
