Hello?

The service is good. The thing is cryptolend is a third party. Basically if we send our API to third party, with trading permission, we can lose all of our money due to specific type of hack that allows hacker to withdraw all the money by trading.

I lost 1.5 bitcoin due to this and until today, I have no idea for sure if the API I used for cryptolend is the culprit. Poloniex doesn't want to tell and I have 2APIs.

For additional security I want to restrict API only from cryptolend IP.

Hello, can anyone answer me? Why cryptolend do not lend any money on my bitfinex account?

Most likely reason is lack of permission. I updated that. Let's see

When you don't share information, how are we supposed to help you? That's like saying "my car isn't working. Someone tell me what's wrong." Without knowing what you've done/set up/etc. it's impossible to help give any input.

May very well have been a lack of market depth or something like that - rates may have been too low, or something else. There are a number of things that could have caused this

Alive and kicking again! (y)

I put some money on bitfinex

It seems that your bot doesn't lend anything

I used default setting. I wonder what I did wrong?

The API must be right. Cryptolend can see my balance fine. It just doesn't lend things.

Poloniex landing works.

Hi pornluver, Please be very careful with our Bitmex strategy. It is not Margin Lending at all, but Derivatives. We advice you to read carefully about this, and be sure to understand fully the mechanism and its consequences. Read again the Bitmex blog post from our help on Bitmex and its references. You will change your BTC into USD equivalent (short XBTUSD) and will earn funding interest only on USD equivalent. Please also monitor closely the Margin call price and leverage. Our bot will not take care of this part. You may lose your capital or earn negative interest, depending on your strategy and on the bitcoin trend.

What does. 46 unrealized pnl mean? Anyone else tried this?

I put 1 btc there. If I close now will I have only.5 left? Your system said total gain is. 05 btc. Then it says -. 46 btc unrealized pnl just for today. Anyone tried putting 1 btc for 1 year? Yes interest is negative once in a while. I do not mind. I worry that I am shorting btc effectively

It seems that shorting xusdbtc means I lost money if btc price goes up. It went up and I have tons of - pnl now. Great

Oh boy. Shorting means betting that btc will drop. BTC went up and there goes a lot of money. Wow.

Interesting.

I stopped lending and have .55btc. I think you should make your warning more clearly here. If we use bitmex we don't just get higher interest rate. we also bet against btc!!!!!!!

this may not be bad. Say you want to buy btc and hedge it by shorting future. However, this one is for expert.

This stuff is good if you want stable income without knowing btc will go up or down
Ha ha ha ha ha....

Yeah, the better strategy is hold and reinvest the interest earning and someday bitcoin price will plummet eventually. Smiley

This is what I see

Total gain = +0.04899080 BTC
Total gain (equ) = +106.30 USD
with 3493.14 USD (avg)
with 1.031 BTC (equ) (avg)
in 7 days
Total Rate = 158.68 %/year

Today 2017-05-25
Contracts = 4145 USD
panel3 = 1.05051 BTC
Rate = 0.191439 %/d
Gain = 0.00303878 BTC
Gain (equ) = 7.94 USD
Next funding @ 0.3750 %/8h
Leverage = 2.75821
Margin call @ 4056.3 BTC
UnrealisedPnl = -0.48437 BTC

What does unrealized  pnl
mean? If I lend at bitmex am I shorting btc? Total gain is.04 btc in 7 days impressive. What is that unrealized pnl?

I set leverage to 5.what does that mean?  Will I get 5 times interest all else same or what?

You can now limit the 'Max Loans Duration' in your strategy. Update this value everyday, to ensure that your loans don't go over the UASF date. Also, we have added the possibility to reset the strategy to default settings values.

Yeah, I have the same concerns, the design of your website is not all that appealing and you should really hire someone to write the text on your website.

Your site looks GREAT and it DOES the job. Please just be happy and accept my thanks. I am now a novice. It seems that I can't choose any strategies.

I am interested in

cryptolend Bitmex XBTUSD

It seems that my balance is always .022 XBT USD.

Anyone tried 5 times leverage? Will it reduce expected value? Or will expected value and standard deviation be bigger?

How do I know how much money I have in bitmex?

I found something interesting. The "wall" section

Basically it set minimum loan rat at certain amount and keep lowering it. That's awesome

I need only one improvement. Can it lower (remove open orders and recreate a bit lower) once every 2 minutes instead of 2 hours?

That'll be perfect.

And perhaps set that minimum a bit above minimum bid offers and that'll do.

Actually why does the minimum rate go up and down like that? Can anyone explains?

//stuff

I'm 99% sure your issue is this:

"Initial split strategy = Active

Split window = 48 h

Split threshold = 60 %"

You're telling it to split over a period of 48h (or do listings 48h apart). Not 100% sure how that works but I'm fairly certain your issue lies here.
Oh that's the problem. Can I turn everything back to "default"

Your bot is doing fine for BTC

Hmmm...

Here is another screenshot.

Clearly the going rate is above my minimum rate.

However, 20k STR is just sitting there in poloneix

The settings are like these

Code:
http://Min depth amount = 5 STR

Max duration offer = 2 min

Min offer amount = 0.05 STR

Min offer rate = 0.05 %/d

Threshold long offer = 0.1 %/d

Wall strategy = Not active

Keep amount = 0 STR

Initial split strategy = Active

Split window = 48 h

Split threshold = 60 %

Alert settings

Use rate warning = 90 %
So I have no idea why your bot simply left the money idle there. The wall strategy is off.

You can now see a demo account with a small amount and the default strategy. Signup in 2 minutes, then open: https://cryptolend.net/mrdemo.html

For some reason, cryptolend do not create any loan even though I have tons of money available and my loan limit is way below the going rate for the loan.

It's been hours and the money is just sitting there. Sometimes some loan are closed and cryptolend start creating new loan. It simply stop.

I checked that it may be because of "wall"

What I usually do if I manually create loan offer is I do not offer something on top. For example, lowest rate may be 16%. I don't offer 16%. I offer about half a page below. If no body borrow, I lower my rate again. Usually someone borrow.

hi pornluver,

Sorry for the late answer.

Regarding the STR lending: our bot is not designed very well for very high rates and high volatility. The STR lending rates have seen large movements, and our bot only check every 1 to 2 minutes (which is quite quick, but not real time). So you may see offers with lower rates than could be at best.

Our main strategy is to maximize the Use rate of your funds, so that it is lent most of the time and bring you back highest rate possible on the long run. As you will see, Lending is most of the time a marathon rather than a speed race.

To watch the details and charts on your STR lending, simply click on the small icon between "Tod. rate" and "Use" in the Overview panel. The charts will change to this currency.

The setting Duration is the maximum amount of time our bot let an offer open, before closing it. It is not the duration of the loan itself. Please click on the title of the settings to see a tooltip box explaining each settings. You can also read the Help page to know more about each strategy.

I hope I answered all your questions. Feel free to join us on our slack channel, if you have more questions. See the link in the footer of the web page.

By the way, thanks a lot to ranlo for his answers.

Between rate and use, there are icons. Those are what change the coin you're looking at in the charts. As for the lending amount, as far as I can tell, it will only go as low as the lowest offering -- so there was likely a flash crash. If you watch rates, for example, even though a rate may show 0.1%, people will often throw coins up at 0.05 or so. Doesn't make sense but they do it.

ven though a rate may show 0.1%, people will often throw coins up at 0.05 or so.

What does it mean?

If rate drops temporarily I do not think I should lend at that rate.

You keep responding to me so I want to clarify that I do not own, nor work for Cryptolend. I actually just recently started using them myself.

On your loan duration, the duration is the maximum time. When someone trades on margin, they can pick a length of time to borrow for. They can close it early if they want, or extend it for the entire period. If you set 2 days, they can ONLY borrow from you if they promise to close their position within 48h. If you set 60 days, they have 60 days but can close it after 1 minute or 59 days, 59 hours, and 59 minutes, all up to them.

Oh so I can actually get more people borrowing if I set things for 60 days.

Some loan offers are like 2-60 days in poloniex. I wonder how do they do so? Is it the same with 60 days?

Also does cryptolend ever create open loan offer? It seems that they are price taker or is it?

Do you have logs what loan are you creating?

BTC rate is .6 percent at minimum and it seems that all my BTC is being loaned at .2% .1 %

bla bla

Some of it may have happened before I used your service. I am just curious.

When you create loan, do you check the loan market price?

Sometimes if the lowest bid offer is .6 %, for example, if I put .8% and wait 10 minutes things sort of work.

Everything works great. However, it seems that most of my money are being lent at a rate far below the market price.

Actually what does loan duration mean?

It seems that I can set loan duration to 60 days and still the loan is closed long before 60 days

Today we are introducing the Premium membership, to help us cover the running costs and beer supply: https://cryptolend.net/premium.html

Good addition, and I find it to be fair. Only kicks in after you've profited $250, and you're just asking a little over $1/mo for it. That's more than fair.

Keep doing what you're doing! Smiley

Dude I have balances in BTC and SRT

This is my dashboard

Hmmm minimum offers for lending for SRT is 1.4 %. Yet you are lending my STR at .9%

I think there should be strategy where we lend money at 50% higher than water margin, and then check every 2-3 minutes and lower our offers.

I can see that I am lending BTC. I saw graph in dashboard. However, BTC is not the only thing I am lending. Say I want to know what happen to my STR balance. What should I do?

Here is my screenshot

On a somewhat unrelated note, are your default settings seen as being a pretty solid setup? I noticed that it's set to only lend at 0.2+ BTC and such, for example, as opposed to 0.05 (I think this would be about the minimum right now).

We are not updating the default settings. We have designed them from our experience since 2014, and they will guaranty you a confortable return. But we think that you can increase your return by updating the settings often. That's why we try to develop as much strategies as possible. The margin lending world is always moving.

We would also like to create a way to share your strategies with others, like some kind of video game 'Hall of fame'. But we have a lot of work to realize before getting there Smiley

hi ranlo,

Thanks a lot for your proposal. Actually the feature you want is already available Smiley

In the Strategy page, if you open the Expert mode you will find a setting called : ‘Keep amount’. This setting will block lending under a certain threshold of your balance.

Holding back a % of your balance could be an interesting improvement (thanks!) even if we think that it’s very important to keep strategies as simple as possible for a better usability and user experience for the moment.

Regarding swapping funds between wallets, it would require to add specific rights in the exchange’s API. For the moment we are dedicated to creating margin lending offers on your behalf. We are very cautious with any other API rights.

Actually wasn't aware that was already implemented (the first one). That's awesome and shows we're on the same page! Smiley

The %age could just be an addon there, such as "Keep amount: ____ BTC OR ____ %"

Glad to hear that, and feel free to send us any suggestion or question.

Off the top of my head, maybe add a way to hold back x funds. For example, let's say I have 10 LTC in my account. I want to ensure I always have 5 liquid for whatever reason. I can set up a "strategy" that will ensure it will never invest more than balance-5, such that it will start by doing 5, as that grows, it'll do 5.1, 5.2, etc. If I throw in 100 more, it'd do 105.x, still leaving that first 5 behind.

I'm thinking about this in terms of liquidity -- it's nice to be able to lend, but would also be nice to have a little you can hold back. And to make it even more usable, allow you to hold back x% of the balance or x% of earnings, such that:

I deposit 100 LTC. I want to keep 50% of earnings liquid. So after a week, that 100 has earned 3 more. It's now lending 101.5, keeping 1.5 behind to liquidate/trade/whatever. For even MORE utility, have it swap those funds from the main wallet to the exchange wallet (or wallet of choice -- on each site) automatically so you can even keep the balances separate.

I can think of many uses for all of these scenarios, Smiley.

Is there any fee for using this system, and can you set it up to be dynamic or do you have to set the % you're going for?

Crypto Lend does not cost whatsoever, and you can choose a strategy for the types of loans/% return. First you put your Bitcoin on one of the supported exchanges. In your profile on the exchange you can generate an API key, which you copy over to your Crypto Lend profile. This allows the Crypto Lend bot to loan out funds on your behalf. By ensuring "Withdraw" permissions are disabled when you generate your API key, you can have some extra peace of mind that Crypto Lend does not even have the ability to withdraw your money from your exchange account. You can always login to the exchange to see your loans, including the ones made by the Crypto Lend bot.

After copying over your API key and secret, go to the Crypto Lend "Strategy" page to Activate lending on the exchange. Every few minutes the Crypto Bot checks your account(s) through the APIs, and if there are funds in your Lending account on the exchange it'll automatically choose the best rates according to your strategy. I use the default strategy, sometimes the Crypto Bot takes an offered loan and other times it offers my funds as a new loan.

Also note that the "Loans" page shows averages for the day in GMT.

Thanks for the response! Not sure if you're part of the CL team, but if so, curious as to where the monetization comes into play for CL itself. It's not a free service to run, so it has to be financed from somewhere/something.

Hi ranlo, the service is completely free, because we do so for the fun of it. Since a few weeks ago we are having a lot of new members, so it's possible that we may ask a small fee in the future, to contribute to the running cost. But we will keep it small.

The website is very good and design too, but profit ~ 20% per year is not too much. So may be it is possible to make profit higher.  Grin

Personally, I find all the exchange funding pages to be very complex, and the chart of lending/borrowing is always changing, so I am happy to let a service do this step for me. Obviously I am very pleasantly surprised to find that the service is free, and by using API keys through exchanges there's no risk from the service itself. I've got to say I am really impressed! So far I've only put 2.5 BTC on exchanges to be lent, but it has been lending and working well for me. At first I was under the impression that there was an element of arbitrage, where the cryptolend service would find the best rates and move BTC between the exchanges. But that's not the case, you put your money on the exchanges manually, where the Crypto Lend bot can see it at which point it sets the bitcoin to lend though that exchange's API.

Bitmex:
I'm a little wary of doing this on Bitmex because there are so many warnings and the concept of lending on Bitmex is complicated. Plus you get charged some sort of fees for the conversion/opening, I just have no idea what I'm doing there so I've stayed away.

Bitfinex/Poloniex:
The rates since I've started two days ago for Bitfinex have been less than half of Poloniex, so I've put a bit more on Poloniex. This point has nothing to do with Crypto Lend as a service, but just to say it's working well on both exchanges lending BTC.

Final worries:
Crypto Lend is awesome, I wish there was a way for you to take a % of the profits because that seems like some good goal congruence, but I guess without actually giving Crypto Lend control of the funds, that'll never happen fluidly (invoice people maybe? First 1BTC of profit is free, then pay $30?). Since my coins are usually just sitting around anyhow, I wish there was less risk to my cold storage if I were to put them on these exchanges! If I could have even the smallest guarantee or insurance against exchange hack/theft, I would let Crypto Lend take care of lending all of my funds.

The website is very good and design too, but profit ~ 20% per year is not too much. So may be it is possible to make profit higher.  Grin

profit in online investment only 20%/year is very small profit
because online investment is high risk, you can investment in bankroll in gambling site , profit is above 20%/year
or you can investment in cloud mining, can compound system and profit can incraese over 20%/year

Thanks for your kind words. I fully trust your forum reputation. We can see that you have read our description and that you clearly understand the benefit of our free project, compared to using the basic “Auto renew” feature from Poloniex. By the way, did you know that you could have earned 10% interest since your first message, 9 months ago ?

The site is not professional, the concept is make me doubt and fear to use your service, I just go to poloniex website if I want to do a lend/loan. Why risking with your site Roll Eyes

exactly. why try the news ones without reputation yet when polo allows us to loan?
gdupont could have make it if he build his rep here in the forum first. but we'll see when someone tried. its says free to which the rest of us are pretty suspicious about it.

In a thrilling partnership with one of our user, we developped a complete new strategy: the Long maturity strategy. Its goal is to prioritize rates over maturity. The bet is that 30-days loans will be closed out long before term, so we can focus on highest available rates whatever the maturity. See help for details : https://cryptolend.net/help.html#rubwhite4.

Big changes here! We now support a new platform: Bitmex. Use Cryptolend to earn interest by shorting Bitmex XBTUSD swap. This new feature added to the other supported exchanges, helps you split your bitcoins and dollars to different platforms, to mitigate the counterparty risk when earning interest.

Your service s free? Yeah, right, NOTHING costs NOTHING my friend. I suggest caution.
Yeah that's what c0ncerns me also.

heard some of these before, it would eventually change later once they see they are not getting much money for it.
they will either insert ads or simply ask for fee for every transaction.
That is right. Every business you see that has been set up is for the objective of making profit in one way or the other, if they cannot make profit from it, then they will collapse because there will no be money to pay off their bills.
It is really not bad if they later introduce fees means through which they can sustain their business for another short period, long sustaining not at all possible .

You simply create an API key on your exchange's account to allow Cryptolend making margin lending offers on your behalf. Don't check trading and withdrawing so your money remains safe in your exchange account. Here is the simple procedure : https://cryptolend.net/help.html

We now support the complete list of currencies for Poloniex and Bitfinex, that is to say 17 different pairs of Currency-Exchange.

We also separated the current and historical rates on a specific web page. You can monitor the margin lending rates at: https://cryptolend.net/rates.html

Because of the Bitcoin trend, today's highest rate is the USD on Bitfinex.

It's not SO suspicious if someone made his service free at the beggining, but guys always make such drama in these topics and i usually ignore these comments already.

Regarding the yearly rate, our current strategy is to maximize the lent capital. We call it the Use Rate = avg lent / avg capital, in % per day. We try to get it close to 100%.

On top of that, we try to avoid rates really too low. They can come from the “auto renew” people, from “volatile” days, and also from large lent amount returned by margin lenders, which collapse the rate for a moment. We are displaying live charts to monitor the efficiency of our engine.

Now, we would like to build new strategies, either on top of the existing, or from scratch. It’s on the roadmap, and we are also open to suggestions.

This week, we improved the balance monitoring. We now calculate the total gain without the capital change, so that deposits and withdrawals are no more included in total gain.

You sure that using Bitfinex (a big exchange which suffered recently from the biggest hacking incident in history of Bitcoin, since Mt Gox) is a wise idea?
Why don't you use some exchange with impeccable reputation?

We think that Bitfinex is very risky, considering what happened this summer. Our service is only a tool, it can't decide if the return is worth the risk. On the other hand, Poloniex has been hacked too. That which does not kill you, makes you stronger.

Anyway, we are currently working on the other margin crypto from Poloniex, in addition to BTC. Coming soon.

Do you know another exchange with interesting margin lending ?

We have done a lot of changes on Crypto Lend the last weeks.

On the frontend, https is now activated and the website ui has been redesigned from scratch, using the last Bootstrap framework. The site is now fully responsive, and W3c compliance is much better.

Regarding the lending bot, we added 3 new currency-exchange pairs :
- ETH on Bitfinex
- ETC on Bitfinex
- LTC on Bitfinex

Thanks for your remarks. We are clearly not skilled for the front end part of the project. It is agreed that we will redo our homework once again.

Regarding the costs, this project is quite small, in expenditure and time. We think that there is no way it could exists as a paid service. Our interest is to create a club of lenders, and maybe improve lending bot strategies together, for example by allowing lenders to publish their lending strategies.

Indeed, we have spotted 30% APY (https://blog.bitmex.com/pricing-bitfinex-default-risk/), 10-15% (https://www.poloniexlendingbot.com/help). We got ~20% last year and we think that there is surely different lending strategies.

The template you used needs to be fixed of these some people in this community are really anal about ux/ui.

It took us longer than expected, but we updated the design of our web site. The site is now easier to use on smartphone. And we replaced the jpgraph module by highcharts.

Change to the term of use : We are financed by our own gains, so our service is free, and it will remain so. Our goal is only to create a club of lenders.

Our short term roadmap is now: add main alt crypto currencies.

And we would like to improve the english texts of the website, as we are not native english speaking.

Hi, Thank you for your advice. You are right, the website is not professional, and we are not speaking native english. We will try to improve these issues with the means available.

On the other hand, it is free and your money can not be stolen, by design. We had a return of 20% last year. I wonder how you can get this value without running a bot ? If you can, our website is useless. Else, please do not pay too much attention to the appearance and feel free to try our service.

Hi densuj,

The bot running at Crypto Lend can grow your capital of several %/year, and we can not steal your money by design. You can get it now with your favorite browser app on android, even if I acknowledge that a dedicated app would be great.

We would also like to add alt currencies and especially new strategies. Anyway, I will do my best to follow your good remark as soon as possible.
