Well my bar arrived a few days ago. I still like it, regardless of the material Smiley

(this was not an investment for me, just a cheaper collector's item to add to my Bitcoin memorabilia list)

Agreed it could be fixed if they weren't stamped like scam bars but I'm not sure defcon has the machinery to be able to add "plated" to the already produced bars.

I would also recommend renaming your thread as you are portraying it as bullion which it is not.   Wink

You can say it is bullion, but it doesn't change the fact that it is not true bullion.

Quote
Bullion traditionally stands for gold bars, silver bars, other precious metals bars or ingots. The word bullion comes from the old French word bouillon, which meant "boiling" and was the term for a mint or melting house.

Quote
A precious metal is a rare, naturally occurring metallic chemical element of high economic value. Chemically, the precious metals tend to be less reactive than most elements (see noble metal). They are usually ductile and have a high lustre. Historically, precious metals were important as currency but are now regarded mainly as investment and industrial commodities. Gold, silver, platinum, and palladium each have an ISO 4217 currency code.

Just a thought - maybe something like:
[WTS] Silver Plated Brass Physical Bitcoin Bars - Limited Edition & Individually Numbered

Would be nice if the bars accurately stated what they were and not mislead users in thinking they are solid silver based on the stamp.

Yeah it is one of my pet peeves being a PM investor in the past. Used to see tons of this type of stuff (misleading bars) on ebay back in the day.

I have contacted the seller of these bars and asked if I designed the bar would he sell it,

his response:

"Thanks for your fast reply.
We promise that we won't resell your design, because the custom design is your idea and you have to pay the mold fee. Once you pay the mold fee this design is belong to you. please believe us. "

still on the fence here
i havent read this one... so thanx to admit it .. anyway , i will be back from hollidays in  a week ..   Wink

Edit:  that's not change a fact: there's only 95 bars available on 100 produced, and these numbers will never be produced ..  Wink so ,  you should think to change your thread title.. Cheers !

You would have to change your titles too....No bullion , No .999 fine Silver... You would also have to change the Bars them selves to Silver plated.
Tho the bars are only 100 minted... I consider them as scam bars... passing them as .999 pure silver because that is whats stamped on them.

This is not just the problem within the bitcoin forum here... this also extends to the precious metal collector world..  THESE FAKE SILVER BARS ARE CONSIDERED A SCAM IN THE PRECIOUS METAL WORLD.... You should drill them and make key chains out of them....

there is a slight difference in the design. Whomever made the chinese version forgot to add enough space to serialize the front of the bar.

At least that is how it looks to me. Seems like there isn't enough space.

Copy error? Perhaps...

it doesnt look like it can fit, but i bet if i bought the 100 pieces that the bars would come out identical as defcons

, as the title/listing says "with Different Serials Number"

Curious if Smoothie has any thoughts on this since those guys stole his design.

My thoughts are that since both defcon 's and the Chinese version are identical down to the fake .999 Silver, I personally think he simply bought them and tried to pass them off as his own.

Maybe if defcon could produce a pic of the dies or some proof of his original design?

Hmm anything is possible.

I would be very wary buying anything that may seem suspect to counterfeiting.

My design for the front of my 25 LTC 1 oz silver coin was copied by someone and passed off as genuine when they did not have the proper design/holo on the back.

Always good to ask questions first and be wary than to jump in and regret it later.

I was waiting for this thread. I was actually surprised that the original thread was closed as these issues are those that most need communication to solve.
I think Defcon definitely has some clarifying to do and even though the supplier themselves say that this design was custom made for a designer, it'll be Defcon's word against theirs as to who the original customer was.
Is there any way of checking when that listing on alibexpress was posted or any sale history? That may be helpful in providing insight into who began selling what first.

I bought a couple of these bars from defcon23 and they are still in transits.  However, defcon23 informed me thru PM that he would issue refund the full amount back to me if I am not satisfy and  send them back to him.

Hey Guys,

I just want somewhere we can talk about whats happened,
if it is infarct these sneaky Chinese manufacturers/suppliers selling Defcons design, or if defcon was trying to make some quick semi dirty money.

I mean no disrespect defcon  but we need to discuss this, if you are telling the truth then we can offer help to possibly put pressure on these sneaky mofugers

I am in communication with the Chinese seller selling the same designs
