Very true. Good to see you back on here.

So are you selling flawed?

Only a few that were marked were sold at auction. Most were destroyed and their scraps will be used for something new.

We will release a full run when the issue has been fixed. That will take time.

when will the flawless new blue jay Polymerbit notes be officially available for purchase in the online store?

Due to the complicated nature of these notes, I would imagine well into 2022.

We need to figure out how to improve the general foiling as well as make some core amendments to the design.

That means our template needs to be scrapped.

Being a trained Lithographic printer myself I can see why Polymerbit would want to
discard these, while the overall design and colours are fine and look very pleasing, its
the "sharpness" in some areas which doesnt cut the mustard so to speak.

Notice Polymerbit said "most of" these will be destroyed, there will still be some available
I suspect.

Those are definitely interesting points, but the reality is that some of those issues boil down to the limitations in the equipment that we own. So, thats not why they failed.

The foil is what made them fail instantly.

What we can do is optimise the design a bit to make it more forgiving to our printing process. Work with the colours to reduce saturation and bleed.

I would love to do full litho prints, we are getting there since we are working more and more with full vectors.

There looks to be "bleed" in some areas, thats like too much ink has been absorbed
by the media which can look blotchy.

There also looks to be a potential "register" issue, where one colour is not correctly
printed in the right position relative to the others, Blue in particular....I think.

Bitcoin needs you!
I can totally understand your decision, the notes you produce are always 100% top quality  Smiley
BUT it’s so painful to read that you’ll destroy the vast majority   Shocked.
Could we please have a few up for auction as “error” notes, unloaded perhaps ?

i would like to know what is wrong with this new note... Huh
instead of destroying it, i would sell the series here or start an auction Wink
there are enough collectors here, who would grab here Wink
as i am already a proud owner of the 1 mBTC penguins and 5 mBTC northern cardinal notes, i know the very good quality of these notes including the coa's

see my images above - the center design was overly saturated and the lines are not visible - I would never had known had he not shown me though.

and if he does destroy these, he intends to redo them. So we will all have the new Blue Jay's in that case.

Polymerbit strives to put forth an excellent product with no errors and this is really evident by this beautiful note that does not meet their high standards.

Having had the fortune of seeing these up close and in person, I also thought that they were great looking and it took polymerbit to point out the issues to me as well.

The most noticeable and really only if you take it and set it next to the Red Cardinal can you see it or even notice it - and once you do, you cannot unsee or unnotice it.

look at the pattern around the center on the Red Cardinal you can see how fine the lines are - that same detail should be present on the Blue Jay - however, that area is heavily saturated and appears to be a solid filled pattern.

I don't know what the problem is with quality but I imagine that you always want to give your best, however I think why destroy it and not give them away, many of us would not mind and surely us would appreciate it.

Normally I would be here proudly announcing the full release of the awaited Blue Jay.

The birds of the World Series have been some of our best work. My personal favourite; the 5 mbtc Northern Cardinal- really challenged us to push beyond our comfort zone.

Unfortunately, I cannot do that today. At Polymerbit, we understand the importance of releasing a quality product.

As such, we will be burning a good portion of the run. And trying again, from scratch.

See for yourself:
