Coin has very active dev team and community and if you PM the dev I am sure he will give you some bounty for it too.

A lightweight electrum client is on their to-do list and I am sure you would find support from the community.

FYI

DGC V3 client is slated for early December and hard fork is probably mid December.  So best to wait til after the hard fork if you are planning on adding DGC.
