This is an interesting project which already has quite a good amount of user-generated content.

My question is:

Are there plans to expand the map or is the now-existing territory the final version of the world?

I read the information about the game. Very much like a very famous series of games called Sim City. There, too, you could create avatars.

Added a new lighting model

There has been discussion of adding colored lighting blocks as a limited resource (possibly an ERC20 token that is burnt).

Wrote a medium post on how we generate the top down preview of our tokens:

Cryptovoxels is virtual world, where land ownership is represented as an ERC721 Token. Owners can use the voxel based tools to build their properties in the city. The Origin City is divided up into parcels and streets, and has 3000 procedurally generated parcels. The goal of Cryptovoxels is to build a virtual world where people can explore, socialize, and transact using the Ethereum blockchain. Players can see each other, chat, and build in the multiplayer world. With the further use of cryptocollectibles, players can decorate their avatars to be uniquely identifiable.

The engine is written using WebGL and works on Desktop, Mobile and Consoles. It uses the WebVR APIs to be compatible with the Oculus Rift, HTC Vive, Oculus Go and Gear VR.

Parcels are hosted by the cryptovoxels server, which enables the user to start editing the world without any coding knowledge. Methods (setContentURI, getBounds) deployed in the parcel contract allow the decentralisation of the cryptovoxels world over time, where users can host their own parcels, and the virtual world client will not require any centralised services, but instead read all data from the blockchain.
