Their twitter 10 days not posted, but their telegram is active and a lot of new users add the telegram. But in telegram some users asks to increase advertising and add new posts to social networks.
New users joining telegram channel can hardly be an indication for a positive activity, and definitely can't be an indication of the project's quality. There are a lot of telegram bot services for fake members, just like insta and twitter followers.
I have to agree with you here. Some are availing the services of having fake users on board. Just to show that they have active community. But you can see if they are real, how are they communicating within the group. Because if it is only bots, you can very see it clearly as they will be spammers on the channel. Also, it is better to have actual use case rather than high number of followers but without a use case.
By your description of fake users, the them their clearly fake, or at the very least, some buzzers, because the channel were filled with people joining amd inviting others withput discussing amything, typical telegram bounty program
