Will the fork mean anything to us? ie - possible halt or wallet lock at Cryptopia??
1.1->1.2 did not impede cryptopia
1.2->1.3 did not either
I suspect 1.3->1.4 will not either. Cryptopia has been surprisingly helpful when it comes to GUN update forks, usually they tell people to piss off and relist if they do even simple chain maintenance.
That all is correct - Cryptopia has been a great exchange for GUN and are very good to work with. Their issues stem from excessive growth way beyond what they ever imagined and trying to catch up with it. I have confidence that they will take care of us when the time comes.
In regards, to the fork, V1.3 is already fully operational if you have it loaded. The fork at 840,000 only covers one thing. We were not comfortable making it start right with the loading of it, so put the delay in. It is a soft fork and no issue for anyone running V1.2 still. But it is a hard fork and major issue for anyone still running V1.1 who could be orphaned from the rest of us.
As for V1.4, the goal is to make it a soft fork for V1.3 users. However, with as much that we plan to put in to it, there is a possibility it could be a hard fork - that is not clear yet. Once it is fully coded, we will know for sure and confirm it when it is tested.
