Going solo is the same thing for confirmations.. You will need new blocks to confirm your solo earnings too!Its not the pool doing bad, its the coin not being mined at all

Each block needs 60 confirms to be available, so the faster the network mines, the faster your balance will be confirmed.
FYI: One confirm is another block found.
