I thought I'd add in my opinion. I used this a few weeks so I could see if their payouts and calculator were correct and this is what I found.

Every single coin I mined with this site was under HALF what I should have have gotten. Take bytecoin for example. I was mining it when you could get thousands a day very easily with AMD cards. Their payout was in the 100s and that was with PPLNS on every coin that offered it with more than 48 hours of mining to stabilize. The numbers are so off it's insulting. Doubly so when I moved over to another pool and received MORE than MG was saying.

It's a really cool idea that comes at the expense of the owners robbing you. If you are just starting this might be an option but realize this company is preying on those exact people to rip them off. Get yourselves onto a real pool and real miners as soon as you can.

Welcome #MinerSanta – a new MinerGate’s social media event!

We are happy to announce our very festive #MinerSanta event!

Gifts are a quintessential part of the holiday season, and an overwhelmingly popular way of exchanging gifts is to play Secret Santa. Out of all the different holiday games out there, though, do you wonder why we decided to arrange Secret Santa? It’s a classic that’s often played at work holiday parties and family gatherings, where there are enough people to make the game interesting. But as with most cultural traditions, Secret Santa has a fascinating aspect to gather people together and make them have a lot of fun!

To express gratitude towards our dearest community we set up the digital version of Secret Santa. Even our CEO Claude Lecomte will take part in this holiday amusement. Furthermore, you’ll find out another pleasant surprise at end of the event, as well.

Let's get started!

Hi,

Bithereum (BTH) is an Equihash 144,5 fork of Bitcoin with the combination of Ethereum’s technical roadmap. We’re looking for mining pools to help spearhead our mainnet launch in late December.

We're including a massive difficulty reduction window for the first 20,000 blocks (.19 difficulty) with double block rewards (25 BTH per block) and an eventual shift to PoS. Our testnet is currently live and we’re in talks with a handful of exchanges.

If interested, please let us know and we can go from there. Regardless, we will be on mainnet by the end of December and will send pools an update when the mainnet build has been pushed live.

MinerGate changes the supported Monero fork

For a long time, the MinerGate pool was supportive of the Monero Original cryptocurrency. However, the MinerGate team recently decided to move its support from Monero Original to Monero-Classic.

The Monero’s fork, that happened on April 6, 2018, and was intended to protect its ASIC-resistance, caused a large controversy amongst blockchain analysts, investors, and cryptocurrency developers. Some of them supported the decision, and some condemned it. However, the update happened and led to the establishment of the four new coins.

#iamaminer. Rules of the flashmob.

Our flashmob is dedicated to the miners, the people who scaffold the whole crypto industry. These days it seems the prevailing opinion regarding the mining industry is that the trader is king of the hill and the miner is just a kitchen boy. We want to show how wrong that is! Thousands of mining enthusiasts aren’t even concerned with profit, they do it out of a sincere belief in the technology and its usefulness to the world. MinerGate believes that these people are the unseen heroes of the crypto world and it is time for them to get their much deserved recognition.

Recently we took a poll, asking people about their mining experience, how they got started, and their aspirations. We’ve received several hundreds of emails in the first week, and this result inspired us to do a huge digital flashmob to let the miners around the world tell their stories.

MinerGate is going to support Monero (XMR) hard fork

Dear miners,

MinerGate team is glad to inform you that we intend to support the upcoming hard fork of the Monero (XMR) network. Scheduled on the block height of 1685555, the approximate date of the network update is October 18, 2018.

There are three major changes in the Monero protocol:

1. A new form of range proofs, called Bulletproof, replacing old Borromean range proofs and significantly reducing both transactions size and fees (by approximately 80%);
2. A PoW tweak to be implemented to curb any potential threat of ASICs and further preserve ASIC resistance;
3. The minimum ring size of the ring signature is increased to 11 and will be static/fixed from now on.

The MinerGate team is ready to support these changes, like it was with the previous Monero (XMR) hard fork in April 2018. To continue mining XMR with MinerGate Monero mining pool on the newly updated blockchain, you will need to update your stable version of the mining software (not xFast Beta yet). The goal of our team is to provide users with a solid working solution to continue mining Monero after the fork, and the new XMR mining will be supported on the xFast versions soon.

Summing up MinerGate’s project ‘I am a Miner’. Best stories. Part 1

MinerGate has recently started a new massive project “I am a miner” dedicated exclusively to MinerGate’s miners. The project is about to shed more light on the lives of miners all over the world, specifically on their environment, wishes, goals, and dreams. Unfortunately, it is often the case that these people who carry the weight of blockchain on their equipment’s “shoulders” are forgotten or even mistreated. Traders and cryptoanalysts love to put themselves in a public eye, getting more and more attention. “I am a miner” was created to stop this outrageous favoritism. Altogether, we’ll remind everybody that miners play the most essential part in the crypto community and that they should be heard and respected.
MinerGate collected some of the most touching and sincere stories and now you’ll see them yourselves.

Scrabble is finally OK with Bitcoin

A recent update of Merriam-Webster's "Official Scrabble Players Dictionary" includes 300 new words and now contains words like "emoji", "facepalm" and finally adds a widely used two-letter word that Scrabble fans have been waiting to use for decades: "OK".

This update shows that Scrabble is evolving alongside the English language. It also shows that cryptocurrencies are steadily becoming an important part of common people’s life as a word "bitcoin" is now also included in a dictionary of the worldwide popular game with a huge fan base, which gatherers tournaments all over the world.

Obviously, the modernization of Scrabble’s lexicon couldn’t happen without including the "Bitcoin" word. "Blockchain" and "cryptocurrency" are not the words for the future anymore as soon as cryptocurrencies increasingly affect the lives of ordinary people, being an integral part of the modern financial sector, IT and science.

Stablecoins: what are they and what perspectives they have?

Cryptocurrencies, as we all know, are not secured with some stable assets, however, they’ve got a value and an exchange rate against the U.S. Dollar, which is accepted as a worldwide common currency. That makes them volatile and inconvenient for daily transactions. The adoption of stablecoins comes up as a necessity as the decentralized economy becomes mainstream.

Updated mining engine is the next step forward to provide our users with the best possible mining experience, promoting its future mass adoption. Will Dogecoin capture Amazon?
A huge campaign has been launched by an avid user at Change.org - Mark E., who stands for accepting the Dogecoin as a payment method by the online retail giant - Amazon.com.

The campaign launched a few weeks ago now got more than 15,000 signatures. Its key point is that by rejecting cryptocurrencies as a payment method Amazon is cutting off from their service many people who have no access to the traditional banking system (by various researches, it's almost 40% of the world population). Mark E. points out that there are more than 50 small businesses and charity organizations already accepting Doge as a payment method.

"Amazon.com being a leader in innovation should accept Dogecoin, as a form of payment. Dogecoin is fast, cheap, and stable. It is stable in value, has the lowest transaction fee of other major coins, has a huge supply of coins and has a very large, active community with on-going development. It's time for Amazon.com to be one of the first major companies to see the power of Dogecoin and to accept it as a payment method.", - the petition on the Change.org states.

Dogecoin is the 20th largest cryptocurrency with an overall market capitalization of $744 million and $103 million daily trading volume. For the last few days price of Doge is showing stable growth, backed with news about Dogethereum release - smart contract connecting Dogecoin and Ethereum networks. At press time, 1 DOGE equals to $0.006410 USD.

Story of the coin: ZCash

You may have seen ZCash, known to miners and exchanges as ZEC, while looking through the list of mineable coins on MinerGate. So what is ZCash and why should you mine it?
Like Bitcoin, ZCash is a decentralized cryptocurrency without a central authority controlling the flow of coins. ZCash is not controlled by a central bank or government. Instead, the blockchain is maintained by miners. These miners earn ZCash coins in return for the use of their resources like electricity and computing power.

Blockchain games made on Ethereum

Digital collectibles games have been around for years, even though they were often hard to trade, and almost impossible to transfer between games. Coin based games have been around since before 2014 though dwarfed by PC and game console communities. Collectible games have been the foundation for the concept of earning “coin” to pay for great cool stuff, keeping gamers invested and interested. Before blockchain existed, it was all too easy to have your stuff stolen, copied, or hacked. Over time, the number of gamers has swelled.

Then fast forward to an era where mobile/tablet/desktop gaming can happen on the go, the number of gamers has grown to 2.3 Billion. Ethereum blockchain has helped fuel the expansion, providing a more secure environment (which can prevent stealing and being copied), coupled with quicker transaction processing times and lower fees than BitCoin. Is it any wonder that Ethereum games have exploded?

MinerGate becomes NiceHash friendly

Dear miners,
We’re glad to inform you that MinerGate multicurrency mining pool is now compatible with NiceHash. Through NiceHash Miner GUI software, users can sell the computing power of their CPUs, GPUs, ASICs and rig farms, to buyers who use it to mine with larger pools.

To benefit from this feature, MinerGate users simply need to pass the NiceHash registration, deposit the desired amount of BTC, select MinerGate as the hash power’s destination, set the bid or fixed price for mining, and place a new order.

With NiceHash now you can buy hashing power of various ASIC-owners and connect it to MinerGate’s pools for different cryptos. NiceHash is compatible with all existing MinerGate pools for each protocol: Scrypt (LTC), DaggerHashimoto (ETH, ETC), EquiHash (ZEC, BTG), CryptoNightV7 (XMR, XDN) and CryptoNight (BCN, XMO, FCN).

This is a smooth and simple way for new miners to get into the game. We’re continuously developing our services to fit the latest technology world trends and provide you with the best crypto-mining solutions.

Thanks for this information. I was looking for something like this to get into mining but with this information I will continue searching.

Do You have any other company that You would recommend?
We are not responsible for other companies so we cannot recommend any of them.

MinerGate mobile app improperly banned by Google Play

MinerGate strongly believes in legitimate mining and its mass adoption. We have always been operating in compliance with all rules and policies. Adhering to the requirements of app stores on the market is essential in developing of the mining industry forward.

After Google Play Store Developer policy has been updated, Google Play blocked mining applications, but only those that “remotely manage the mining of cryptocurrency” or mine outside the user’s device. With that in mind, MinerGate provided a timely update to the mobile application on 21 August so the proper consensus between the project and the marketplace would be sustained. MinerGate app with its 1m+ downloads has been removed from the Store on August 29th regardless of the efforts put in place. And we are still hoping to resolve the situation in the nearest future.

MinerGate has always sought to protect the interests of its users, and we are working on a solution to maintain our service continuously.

You can always download our application from our website: https://minergate.com/downloads/mobile
We are sure to bring the good news soon.

Official MinerGate Android app update v.2.4

Dear miners,

This July, Google has made a serious update to Google Play Development policies. The major changes include a ban of several more categories of apps, including cryptocurrency mining applications.

In order to comply with the updated requirements, we had to remove the mining option from the latest version of our application. The new v.2.4 available in Google Store is designed for monitoring and managing your mining process – both your own hardware and cloud mining.

With the new v.2.4 app you can track your miner’s status, view dashboard, use mining calculator and withdraw your funds, as well as buy cloud mining contracts and track their status remotely, from any corner of the globe. All you need is your Android-based smartphone and Internet connection. You can download the app here.

In MinerGate we are striving to provide you with the high-quality software, to make your mining experience easy and efficient. Support of such scale companies as Google is essential for further development of both the company and entire sphere, that’s why we’ve decided to meet them halfway and change the application’s functionality in favor of remote mining monitoring, as told in their updated guideline.

How to set up hardware for efficient mining with MinerGate

When it comes to mining, even the tiniest bit of processing power matters. It may sound like the difference between 10Mh/s and 10.2Mh/s is insignificant, but given enough time, this difference can generate significant income.

So, if you ever used MinerGate GUI miners (or the console versions) there are a few things you may want to implement, in order to maximize your ROI.

The GUI MinerGate Tricks

1) The most important thing when you start mining is to run the Benchmark tool. You can find it in the MinerGate menu, between “Miner” and “Achievements”. Depending on your hardware, the benchmark may take between 3 and 6 minutes. The first step is to do a general hardware benchmark and then the tool will iterate through all the coins you can mine using your configuration and run specific tests for each of them. At the end of it, you will see an average calculated and an explainer. This is a very important step to calibrate your expectations, not only in terms of energy consumption, but also in terms of how much revenue you can generate with this activity. The benchmark results are showing how you perform, on average, compared with the general performance of the network.

2) Use Smart Mining

Smart mining is a very nice innovation of MinerGate and it basically switches the coin you’re mining, based on the ROI. In order to do that, MinerGate gets the current prices of all the potential coins you can mine, makes an average, and picks the most profitable coin. The time window is one hour, so you will always mine the coin which was the most profitable during the last hour. You may find this to be extremely useful because it allows you to create an auto-pilot setup. Sort of an AI which decides how to spend your precious hashing power, knowing that you will always get the best results.

3) Set Your GPU Mining Intensity

If your GPUs are Nvidia (which is one of the most popular GPU producers anyway), then you should see a setting in your GUI miner, called “Intensity”. If you don’t see GPU at all, it means it was disabled at startup and you should enable it by clicking “Menu” -> “View” -> “Show GPU Mining”. Setting your intensity will also change the energy consumption of your GPU, so it’s important to have some ways to measure this as well. Unless you’re extremely lucky, you won’t hit the perfect combination from the first time, so it’s very important to experiment with various settings. Please take into account the fact that a higher intensity will also raise the temperature significantly and also increase the risk of damaging your equipment. It takes a consistent amount of trial and error until you find the perfect combination, but in the end it will all wroth it.

The Console MinerGate Trick

When you start your miners in the console, you have two important settings: the number of threads (for CPU mining) and the intensity (for GPU mining, Nvidia only).

CPU mining is not profitable these days, but if you want to try it out (who knows, maybe you have your own solar plant somewhere) then you should experiment with it. Choosing this number to be equal to the total number of cores of your CPUs is considered bad practice and it will also lower your energy consumption. Setting it somewhere around two-thirds of the total numbers (ex: if you have 16 cores, you may set it between 11 and 13) seems to be working reasonably for the majority of setups, but here again, you should do your own tests.

For GPUs, you can set the intensity. You have a range between 1 and 4, 1 being the smallest intensity, 4 being the highest. The recommended setting is 2, but then again, testing on your own configurations should give the best results. Again, be aware that a very high intensity not only could increase your energy consumption but it may permanently damage your equipment.

As you can see, the MinerGate clients are versatile and easy to use. The key part is to always find the perfect balance between the hashing power you squeeze form your hardware and the energy consumption.

Happy mining!

MinerGate partners with Freewallet to deliver an easy free withdrawal method

MinerGate, one of the leading cryptocurrency pools that has been successfully operating since early 2014, partners with Freewallet, a cryptowallet developer supporting all the the most popular cryptocurrencies. The result of their collaboration is a new feature allowing users to easily and promptly withdraw mined coins to a Freewallet address linked to their email.

Freewallet is offering a variety of options to manage the mined coins through their trending Multi Wallet app. In addition to receiving coins with no commission, Freewallet users can take advantage of instant off-chain transfers among Freewallet addresses at zero cost. Another handy feature is smart transactions, the integrated exchange of one cryptocurrency to another.

MinerGate users can now send their confirmed balance to a dedicated wallet of a corresponding coin with just a couple of clicks straight from their profile. Upon entering an email address, a new wallet where the coins are delivered to is created instantly. Miners are emailed with the details of their transaction and instructed how to access their freshly created wallet. To ensure additional security, a strong password must be generated for the new wallet first; the information is sent via encrypted channels and can be only be accessed by the wallet owner.

OMG why make a alliance with the devil? Your reputation is not good anyway but now ... read it yourself https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/freewalletorg-scam-dont-use-any-of-their-ios-or-android-app-1964190

I'm almost a minute away to send dogecoin to Freewallet from Bittrex. Now, I'm cancelling my intention to use Freewallet. The android wallet apps looks nice and promising - but I believe you guys. This wallet looks like scam, when I checked their website not much information about Freewallet developer/operator, no company details, no address, no real identity - definitely a scam. Scammers now are so good, they can come out with a very convincing app. When I looked back at the app after put aside its aesthetic features, I then realized a lot of fishy things in the app. There are so many scammers now in the crypto-currency market. I'm also have problem with Bittrex, I have transferrred alt coins that I gain from faucet to Bittrex, only when I want to withdraw the accumulated fund, then I realized their transaction fee for withdrawal is exorbitantly high. I am using Bittrex to store alt coins since they have wallets for almost all alt coins. The real problem in crypto-currency is to find multi-wallet service provider and this is where I think the soft spot exploited by Freewallet/Bittrex. Multi wallet is tempting since it makes easy to manage all the alt coins. Good work guys - spread the word!. Need to shut down all these scammers.

What do we Expect for Crypto Markets in 2018

2017 was a year of many emotions and updates that managed to increase interest in cryptocurrency. Both drama increased the capitalization to 500 billion dollars.
Investors from all over the world turned to risk discretionary amounts to investments mainly Bitcoin, as an example, Mark Cuban, a renowned entrepreneur recommends investing at least 10% of your investments as part of a route to be a millionaire.

By 2018 we hope to see surprises, many governments have not established their official position before the crypto exchange control. For example, the United States, the president of the Federal Reserve of San Francisco, John Williams, said that there is no official plan of the Reserve to issue a digital currency in the short term time. However, it did announce an ongoing study on the possibility of doing so in the future.

I used to mine the good old fashioned way, even set a gpu on fire once, good times! This software is insanely convenient though, I got back into mining because of this.
Developers, what I would LOVE to see is when a rig goes offline, I get that notification on my mobile app, but it does not tell me which one, would be nice if it did.

Thanks for the feedback! We'll definitely think about launching such notifications.

Now the money is free, and so the people will be
Well if you are a noob, the most important thing is to verify your payments.  So sure, use minergate, use whatever software you like or are comfortable with.  Then, according to your hashrate and calculators, verify that you are getting roughly the same amount each day in payouts.  If not, change pool or software, and verify again until you find a decent payout scheme.

I was thinking about installing MinerGate the other day, but many youtube videos put me off it.  But at the same time, many of those channels are very much elitists when it comes to mining (as many people on this board are too).
I mean, I am a "noob".. I only started a week ago.. which was possibly one of the worst possible weeks I could have started.

Testing it for myself is the only real way I can completely form an opinion of it. I'm having no luck with other miners so it's worth the shot.

Don't worry, it's definitely worth it  Smiley

I like Minergate - yes its targeting newbies, but whats wrong with that? Someone has to give newbs support and considering I'm new to mining, and just want to mine on a small scale why would I bother with miner programs that slow my pc to a crawl or trigger AV so I can't even download it.
These might be easily solved problems for 'experienced' miners - but for new people they are headaches.

It doesn't matter how straight forward Minergate makes it program though as everyone interprets the results differently. Jumping into the chat area for 5 minutes is frustrating as a lot of people tend to fire off really really really menial questions without trying to solve the problem themselves. Experienced miners hating on Minergate... grab an energy drink and spend 5 minutes in those chats. When you see the level of knowledge they have to contend with on a daily basis, you have to give them props for the service they are providing. It might seem overly basic to a herioc class miner, but damn, its like running around the level 1-5 zones all over again with 5 year olds.

Also I tried other pools, but I went back to Minergate - for me they had a better return and overall the platform is simplistic but covers nearly everything you need. They should include the confirmation minimum amounts on the Dashboard screen as those questions are always asked (like always...)

Thanks Minergate - keep on moving forward, yes you may have some haters, but you also have a lot of supporters who do appreciate your stuffs Smiley

Hey folks,

got a quick question

on a secondary machine i have setup an "other pool" for ETN (a while back) and silly me has forgotten what wallet and where I have set it to mine.

I've tried opening the logs but the one for ETN wont open and the only one i could manually find was the bog standard minergate log which is just filled with xmr (no mention of my other pools)

It is connecting and working and hashing just haven't got a clue where and to what wallet. any suggestions on finding out where ?

thanks
