This was back in Navajocoin (1.0) days and i did not have encrypted wallet. On Win7. I made some postings on this in this forum back when it happened. I lost coins from several different coins wallets.

Another Vote for 2FA Google or Authy. I already lost a number of coins NAV (1.0) included. Nuked my system and reinstalled from backup to stop it.
How you lost that? Trojan? Which system you used?

Is there 2FA coming to NAV wallets?
It seems to me that someone with access to my pc can now just copy my Wallet.dat file and open it somewhere else to take the coins? Or is the Wallet.dat file protected by the superDuperMegaSAFE password I chose?

Oh man.. I did read that. My mind just pushed it back too much. Thanks for reminding me. I will wait patiently and hope no bad guy is out there trying to jump out of his Trojan horse to take my NAV!

Your wallet.dat is encrypted with the password you choose. So if someone does get access, they still need your password!

Yes thanks, I found that out now. I learn a ton of new stuff reading into things every day. Crypto and everything around it is very interesting!

How do you compare NAV with Zcash?

NAV exists. You can trade nav, Nav has wallets for mostly all the platforms but IOS.
NAV is POS so if you have NAVs you can stake them and make a reward of 5% annual.
NAV has Anon being re developed doing a beta test at the moment.

more than that, nav does not send 20% of the block reward to founders..... i dont understand all this hype behind zcash, seriously.

I have a question about using the NAVcoin (Neutral Anonymous Virtual Coin Tongue) wallet.

I installed the wallet and set it up as a full node. Currently I am also staking a certain amount.
If anything bad would happen I would hate to loose all my NAVcoin. I now made a backup of the wallet.dat doing the following:
- copy the wallet.dat file
- paste it into Veracrypt container with strong pass.

Should I after every transaction backup the new wallet.dat due to using a new NAV address?

Is there anything else I should do to not lose my NAVcoin/Wallet in case something goes wrong?? I will also make the backup on a USB to make sure I do not loose everything if my HDD crashes.

Thanks for your help in advance, I am very new to this all and trying to learn everything. I did manage to do proper transactions to the full wallet on pc as the mobile wallet on android.

Sadly, all of this would do no good if hacker got access to your computer or if your computer is infected with keylogger.

Our NAV won't be safe until our dev could implement something like 2FA like VTR recently released.

Even if hacker got access to my computer while im staking and they have my password to wallet.dat they would still need access to my phone's authy for 2fa 6 digit code.

Now only wallet I feel secure (and I have lots of coins BTC LTC NAV SDC ...) is VTR.

PLEASE @shahim have NAV implement 2fa tech

Hi All,
Surprisingly!
Actually we were in a discussion of a step ahead of 2FA , where hardware related protocols were to be applied but with so much going on at NAV HQ , releases and all we had to put it a way bit down the list.
Anyhow this request has reopened up the discussions for the same.

We will work on this within the next few days and achieve a preliminary step with regards to the same.

Warm Regards,
~SoopY~

My NAV wallet shows me the following transaction in the transaction menu. It seems like the staking is not going on at the moment. Has been like this for almost 48 hours. Any way to solve this?

Generated coins must mature 60 blocks before they can be spent. When you generated this block, it was broadcast to the network to be added to the block chain. If it fails to get into the chain, its state will change to "not accepted" and it won't be spendable. This may occasionally happen if another node generates a block within a few seconds of yours.

you could try running repairwallet from the debug console. Just want to check that your wallet is also definitely unlocked for staking right?

I've uploaded an up to date version of the block chain to the website if that helps anyone having syncing issues.

Thanks for the help. I did replace the blockchain with the up to date version and the wallet is staking again. The above transaction still shows in my transaction history but that does not seem to be a problem.
