You should probably put the payment address on the polymerbit website as there is no clear way for anyone to tell this account is actually adam from polymerbit.

2) Woudn't be easier to use the btc public address of the note to fund it directly?

To answer your questions
1) The total amount to be loaded is 0.001 not 0.005 BTC
2) While it may seem easier, it is actually more secure if one address is behind the loading of these notes. Also, it stops the potential of notes that should be actually loaded circulating unloaded.
