@Timberland thanks for the questions!
Great idea. However I'm a bit confused as to how this actually works.
On Peddler you can post the product you want, it can be from any merchant out there. (although we do restrict a few product groups similar to other Marketplaces)
But the whole thing only works when the merchant actually accepts to provide a discount, right? How is that guaranteed, and who is contacting the merchant?
We work with big communities similar to the crypto community, to aggregate demand for the products they want. We do this through either using our AI to discover product demand in the community OR have community users post the products they want on Peddler - this can be anything from a kitchen appliance to the latest crypto mining gear.
How is that guaranteed, and who is contacting the merchant?
Peddler already has a large merchant pool in place throughout tons of product groups, however our AI also finds merchants who can sell the product and approaches them on mass. Merchants are keen to drive sales, without the cost of acquisition and we allow them to do this and in return they set pricing for doing a group transaction.
The buyers remain anonymous during the purchase but tend to come from similar interest groups or communities.
How is that guaranteed, and who is contacting the merchant?
The merchant can ultimately set the pricing, however we do provide good indicators of what price point would capture the crowd best. The merchant is contacted by the platform itself or even our team, depending on the product group.
Also, is there a limited range of merchants you can group buy from or can you submit any?
You can submit any product you like. But bear in mind we do monitor and limit certain product groups. More importantly if you have any ideas feel free to list them here! Our search engine is actively monitoring for products! And personally I always like hearing new ideas!
But you do need to earn your trust in this space, there are just so scammers out there that you'll find a lot of skeptics.
Absolutely. We believe trust is won by remaining transparent and working with the community. If we make a mistake we would be the first to rectify it and admit it. We ultimately want this to work for the crypto community. We are all big fans at Peddler and know that there are a lot of peeps trying to scam others in this relatively young market.
I would like to see Peddler facilitating the community for the products they really want to buy with crypto. We have done surprisingly well in our first week 1/2 of crypto - lots of interesting and some unexpected products being sold for crypto. And we have had some good takeaways, like the 15 minutes for a BTC transaction should be increased, however less so with the other currencies (ETH/LTC was used most). However even when the transaction was made outside of 15 minutes we do let it go through in most cases, unless (on rare occasion) the user has underpaid - and we send it straight back.I hope that helps! And would love to hear what you would like to crowd buy? (we had some great suggestions on GPU's and mining gear).
Thanks!
