This was a great game, and I'm going to miss this. Sad

I like long running games like this and zandagort that rely on decent gameplay and mechanics instead of flashy graphics. This was well coded, and we appreciate your time on this project. If you ever reboot this, let us know, and if you guys haven't, look into real cash economy games, those guys would have eaten this up. And if you guys want an awesome idea for a bitcoin economy mud (I can't code for shit) send me a pm, I have some ideas I'd like to bounce around.

I haven't really followed what happened with Minerfarm, so I can't help with that (and the thread looks 48 pages too large, at the moment). Tongue

In relation to this game, however, this is what I can say: you don't have to deposit BTC to play (although that will eventually give you an advantage later on in the game); the amount you get from building things in-game is relatively small (maybe in the order of a faucet, maybe a bit more? it does depend on the level of what you are building though, I think¹); and the game has ads. Now, I can't tell what proportion of the payments players get are coming from ads, versus other players' deposits, or the developers' wallets or wherever, but maybe the OP can share that with us, to clear any doubts.

1 - I'm not sure how that is implemented exactly but, I imagine that, if the amounts paid during game play were proportional to the total amount the game has available (somewhat similar to what I think PipsTycoon was trying to do), that would remove any issue altogether.

As soon as you have a Radar Tower (or the equivalent in the Red Guild; allows you to see the map, and players around you), and some units (you'll need a War Factory for that), you'll be able to attack others. However, unless you are in a war between Federations, there is a limit of 3 attacks per day you can make on the same territory.

I'm getting the "Turning back from target [omitted] -Completed-" message, and the page attempting to reload, but that's as far as it goes. The attacking units haven't returned, captured resources aren't credited to the attacking territory, and any page that shows the messages is now bugged (attempting to reload the page continuously, it seems).

Great idea and great game. Some old Ogame players might be familiar with this kind of games. I just joined and having good time. I didn`t try to withdraw yet but a lot of players seems to withdraw their earnings without any issue. Players can war with all players. But if your and your target players faderations are not in war, "3 attacks in 24hours" rule will be applied.

Well, I suppose you can just create a new federation (consisting only of you), deny anyone else entry (I haven't tested that out yet, but I imagine you should be able to do so), and then declare war to your heart's content.

However, there really should be an in-game mechanism to handle war declarations and the like, instead of being dependent on the forum.

Hmm, in relation to the rule: "A player can attack to same teritory atmost 3 in times in 24 hours period" - how are those 24 hours counted? That is, are they reset as soon as the server time crosses midnight, or do we literally have to wait those 24 hours out, after a set of attacks?

I'd prefer a space themed strategy game but, lacking one of those to play at the moment, I'll take this one.

A few suggestions/complaints:

It seems that the registration process doesn't allow you to set a password longer than 16 characters, but doesn't warn you of such - I had set one longer than that, and then had trouble logging in.
The confirmation email that is sent after registration should probably not contain the player's password.
Maybe consider adding an email notification system, able to warn offline players when certain events happen: construction completes; research completes; player is attacked; etc..
Build queue - I understand this might partially conflict with the option to pay to immediately complete a building, but...
As far as I can tell, there is a limit to the amount of buildings that can be built in a territory - maybe there should be a way to demolish buildings as well, in case a player wants to reclaim some space?
The start of the game is very slow: after building a few of the initial buildings, and running out of resources doing so, I was forced to stop playing (as there was no further action I could take). Maybe it would be beneficial to start the player out with a few more options: maybe more resources, so they don't run out so quickly in the beginning; maybe a couple of scout units we can play around with; or maybe with more of the basic buildings already built (which everyone has to build anyway), allowing the player to start specializing more quickly.

Game is good but you can't make money easily. You have to play for 5-6 months and then maybe you make 0.01 BTC something. Real focus is not to earn money in this game.

This game does not require you to deposit any BTC, while in Minerfarm you have to deposit to gain something. This game is free to play, it's in Service Announcement board. Minerfarm is an investor-based game. They are different kind of sites. Thanks for telling us your problem though.

You can earn bitcoin by using sources for upgrade buildings ( iron, gold and oil ) and attack other players.

What I'm suggesting you to change is the algo determining how much we have to pay to speed up construction. You should change it from being a static cost, which is the same all the way from start to finish, to a dynamic pay per minute left, which would be much fairer.

Generally speaking, I think this btc payment model integrated into games could be really interesting once it's further developed. I would think it would incentivise people to play the games more if instead of earning valueless achievement points, you instead earned digital currency when reaching said achievements.

People already go the extra mile to get achievements that are essentially pointless, but if btc was added into the mix it would spur them on even more.
