Anyway, we have our own forum now, so let's continue this discussion there: https://simtalk.org:444

There's some autistic retard in here who has nothing better to do but sit on the forum all day and follow me from topic to topic like a little doggy to post his insanities over and over and over again.

So pathetic...

Again, haven't seen current rules. But moving them to paid rooms is not hard. Impose a limit on how much a player can win in the faucet room. 1000 satoshi for example (or x times the amount a paid room requires). Players with more than that don't win anything more in the faucet. And can't withdraw it either if the minimum withdraw amount is higher than what they can win in the faucet. The only way for players to win more is to move onto paid rooms. They can still create multiple accounts and transfer money between accounts in paid rooms though. Maybe randomize whom players can fight against if there are enough players? And add bots to control players if there aren't enough? Should help make it riskier and harder to exploit.

Interesting idea, but I don't think it will work. What you're essentially proposing is "give people money, so they could pay for the paid room".

Then what? This won't bring any new money in Smiley

And they will do the same thing with dummies in paid rooms to exceed the withdrawal limit and get the money out.

And to avoid players exploiting the faucet can't you change it somehow? Haven't seen the current rules but maybe replace it by a normal game without entry fee. With only small rewards for kills and maybe a maximum amount that any player can hold of coins there. To win more the player must then move to paid rooms.

There was no entry fee for the faucet. And if we make it "pay-per-kill" people will run 2 apps and kill dummies, which they did when there was a bug that allowed that.

So the reward can only be collecting coins and then nobody's interested in fighting.

Also the kind of people that faucet attracts is the kind of people who almost never move to paid rooms.

Looks really good comparable to the original doesnt Hudson Soft have the copyright ?

Not unless the graphics, sounds, etc are taken from their game. This game being similar is not a violation of copyright.

Pretty sweet idea

Thanks Smiley

Well, if we raise enough money for CryptoPlay and if our other projects become profitable, we will probably keep it and even restore the faucet.

Maybe gradually enough people will be interested to play...

I used to play bomberman games a lot. But I avoid installations when possible these days. If an online version is made, I will also play. So, it's clear that the faucet mode failed to attract enough players, it just leads to never-ending farming by 2-3 people and often if they play at the same time, they just share the map and don't even fight each other.

That's why the faucet will be turned off today.

The server is rented for some time, so the game will work in normal mode for a while and then probably be discontinued too.

Some fun stats for room #1:

* Total bombs placed: 176,240
* Total man-seconds: 821,390 = 228 man-hours
* Number of deaths:   2,378

And from now till the end of the year the faucet will work with x4 multiplier (twice as much!).

Plus 3 bombs with extended range.

Have fun!

It would be great to promote SIM after launch in Cryptoman web version. Win some Simcoins and few months later read in news "Man played Cryptoman six hours and won $6000".

Making web version means hiring people, i.e. paying money.

I could do an IPO and raise some for this particular project. Like shares with some % return from future profits.

Just an idea.

A new version 1.1 is available.

https://cryptoplay.net/cryptoman.zip

Added a chat box to the game.

Also, some keys are changed - now you join the game by SPACE and ENTER switches focus to the chat text field.

It also sends the message and returns focus back to the game.

By the way, room #1 stats:

* bombs planted: 65,142
* man-hours spent: 99.1
* 1,286 deaths

Great an update! Are you considering doing an online version? How about one that isn't only compatible with windows?

Ratins is indeed a nasty m*f* not allowing you to play. I don't know if it is a bot or not. This morning I just refrained from playing as it is impossible to do anything in the board with that other player getting at you.

Well, he's farming the faucet day after day, I guess it gets a bit boring and lonely, so as soon as somebody joins he wants to play Smiley

Indeed, you can use other rooms. I could even make a second faucet, but not sure if it will help, he will probably just switch between them.

Have no idea about the controller stuff, sorry.

I've been playing the game a lot during the last weeks.

Ratins is indeed a nasty m*f* not allowing you to play. I don't know if it is a bot or not. This morning I just refrained from playing as it is impossible to do anything in the board with that other player getting at you.

Then again, I'm not that competitive, I'm just in for the fun and the satoshis. Smiley

And I've only been in the faucet board. Let's move on to the other boards.

Bummer for the one having arrow keys broken in the keyboard. I actually play it on a broken keyboard (for other keys, that is) so that I do not break the keyboard I use for propper work.

Almost off-topic, and no m*sft apology implied, but besides playing it in windows, I'm about to play it with some configurational aid to use the Xbox 360 wless controller (great hardware, you can't deny that). I'm looking to buy with BTC the wireless-to-usb adapter for such control. Any hints on where should I look for it? To my disadvantage, I'm in Latin America where it's rather tricky to work with egifter or some other bitcoin friendly sites, not to mention that delivery to my region is also tricky from northern countries.

An Online version might be a great addition to it.

I agree, but that requires rewriting the server part to use websockets, which are also not so good for fast gaming, compared to UDP.

But if enough people are interested, I can hire somebody to do the conversion.

- negative balance players. The idea is to steal another players coins right? I believe a person in positive that kills a person in negative still gets a reward?

You don't get a reward for killing people with negative balance.

- you need a way to validate accounts. If you go negative its too easy to just make a new account... why struggle back from -10000 when you can just make a new account and get +tive credits?

You don't have to struggle back. It's a faucet mode, going negative doesn't matter.

- make the mass gold coin drop only occur when people are playing.

It's already that way. If you don't destroy walls, eventually they all will be filled with coins and the Super Prize fund won't be replenished anymore.

- Increase the board size by "alot" and make it so you can have 10 people playing. I remember a giant bomber man game years back that was a huge field with lots of players. Would be some good chaos

There are some technical limitations to this and it also doesn't guarantee more fun.

- assign people a skill level based on their k:d ratio (don't count suicides to prevent people changing rank at will). Maybe 2 faucet rooms to cover noobs and pros. I'm not very good and i must admit it frustrates me being owned constantly... infact i don't think i have a single kill.

This can easily be gamed.

- add some advertising or something in it and utilise the rewards from that to increase the occurance of coins to accomodate increased player numbers

The faucet mode is not the primary mode of the game. As soon as there are enough players playing regular games it will probably be discontinued.

I can see how the negative balance can be frustrating though for someone that's unable to farm. As for the removal of the faucet mode, if someone is in the negative balance, then they won't be able to join any other rooms, as each room costs 100 satoshis (if I remember right). Furthermore, I think there should be a limit on how negative a person can go. Haha, for le newbies that struggle to obtain kills but want to have fun nonetheless.

Loving it but have a few recommendations.

- negative balance players. The idea is to steal another players coins right? I believe a person in positive that kills a person in negative still gets a reward? Maybe this should not be the case to reduce new players being fodder until they improve?

- you need a way to validate accounts. If you go negative its too easy to just make a new account... why struggle back from -10000 when you can just make a new account and get +tive credits?

- make the mass gold coin drop only occur when people are playing. Would this encourage people to play consistently rather than idle waiting for the coin drops? I can see bots abusing that later if its the case. Though mind you they'd just move every so often i guess to look like they are playing.

Things i'd like to see
---------------------
- Increase the board size by "alot" and make it so you can have 10 people playing. I remember a giant bomber man game years back that was a huge field with lots of players. Would be some good chaos

I actually just tested that, and sequence pressing doesn't work..I just kept turning in a circle.

You press Up and start running up. Then you see a free left spot. Normally you would release the Up button and then press Left, trying to do it at the exact moment.

Well, you don't have to do it this way. If you are running up and want to turn left, you just press Left and wait for the character to turn, _then_ release Up.

This way you don't need to catch the exact moment to turn.

I think it'd be cool if you could implement a chatbox!

Almost finished Wink

Also, when someone does get bombed, maintain the delay respawn timer, but (if I remember right) make it so the player cannot be affected by more than one bomb? Or is that an intended function

that guy has a LOT of coins already.

370,000 satoshis is not "a LOT" Smiley I have 1 M and it's still only 0.01 BTC.

It's annoying when the avatar doesn't move the full block so I just keep running into the wall haha

It takes getting used to, but once you do, it's quite playable.

Try pressing keys in sequence, like: press Up, then press Left, then release Up after you turned, etc.

It will detect that you want to change direction and turn at the first available free left spot.

Clever the latest changes were. For wildassess the game abusing were.

Yup, I found Yoda in the labyrinth and he told me that.

Of course I know who Yoda is... wasn't he in the little rascals? =D

Just having fun and working my satoshi earnings in the game.

Thanks and congratulations.

I see people are already abusing the faucet Grin

So the rules will be changed a little:

  • The faucet will be switched to x2 multiplier, so you can earn more.
  • The amount of coins that goes into the Super Prize fund will be decreased by 50%.

Overall, you will be able to earn 150%, just need to do a little more work for it, not just sit in spectator mode and join only to pick up Super Fund coins Smiley

And remember, if all the squares under brick walls are filled, no more coins will be generated, so the faster you clear the map, the more coins are generated.

And thanks to the multiplier, you can now get 1,000 satoshis for each kill.

Right now you can get about 1-2 dollars worth of bitcoin per day just by logging in and picking up the coins Wink

I am tempted to play, but I do not want to download anything. Can you port this to the web? It will be amazing!

Maybe later, if enough people are interested. Right now the Windows app is the only option.

well you have stolen my idea.

Sorry, man, this happens. Ideas tend to be in the air, you know.

If it's any consolation, I haven't read it on BTT or anywhere else, came up with it on my own Smiley

I took a break from developing Simcoin and made a multiplayer game on top of its codebase:

Since Simcoin is not finished yet, I've decided to make the game available to play with bitcoins for now.

Download it here: https://cryptoplay.net/cryptoman.zip (Windows only, sorry).

If you don't have an account – just type username and password, it will create one.

There can be max 4 players and up to 8 spectators in each room.

The rules are simple: when you explode someone, you take their 100 satoshis.

When you join the game or commit suicide, 100 satoshis will be deducted from your account and distributed over the playing field under the brick walls, as 10+10+20+50 (displayed as (1), (2), (5) coins).

Another 10 will be put into the Super Prize fund to be distributed randomly on the map as (5) coins, once it reaches 1000.

Some rooms have a multiplier, for example "x10", which means that all numbers are multiplied by 10, i.e. each kill will bring you 1000 satoshis, instead of 100, etc.

There's also a "faucet mode” in which you don't need money to join, one kill is 500 satoshis and a new coin is generated every 10 seconds under the brick walls.

ENTER to join the game, cursor keys to move, SPACE to plant the bomb. Each player has 2 bombs.

This is a beta version, so expect some bugs Smiley
