Update on the project

It's has been two months that our chain is live with almost 350k of blocks produced.
Hash rate grow shows nice support and distribution continues to be fair on participants.
We would like to thank you for that in advance.

In these two months, we have been doing a lot of work behind the scenes on the p2p trading and escrow platform named "Olympus", a lot of testing of the contracts and especially against the steam API.

As we started testing we soon realized that ethereum codebase is very limited in handling the complex contracts in mass. While the handling is flawless, if demand is present the network gets congested fast.
In simple words, the codebase right now can only handle a small number of functioning contracts.
As you all know promethium is based on the ethereum codebase with some heavy modification on the algorithm and consensus level.
We have stated numerous times that the plan and cause of this project is not to create another coin without a purpose or goal, there is plenty of that already out there, but to create a platform that will handle a specific topic of interest.

So the decision was made to switch to another codebase.
We have been working on a custom chain for some time now and we are close to releasing a test net for our new codebase.
Promethium v2

The new codebase is based on rust and the substrate framework that includes the web assembly(wasm) implementation.
The codebase supports also smart contracts.
We strongly believe that the rust codebase can and will be the base to develop a safe and scalable architecture for our application.
What is new on promethium v2:

First of all the web assembly ensures that we don't need to fork anymore if we want to introduce updates on the chain or introduce new features or even consensus changes. This a massive future for the stability of the chain and the future development on it.

 Secondly, we are going to move to a new proof of stake system.
We took that decision even if PLHash is working nicely and fair because we are going always to be depended on the hash power and miner participation, also the time we spend talking to GPU miner developers or the bounties we offered didn't bring anything.
In fear that some miners can go rouge and develop secretly a GPU miner and use it, the decision was made that we need to change the direction.
To have a network that is that fast to serve the needs of a p2p escrow trading system we have to be real about it and move to a pos system and consensus model that reflects that.

Since the system target group is non-crypto customers the need for a flawless working system is more than essential.
Just imagine having a congested chain and trying to explain to costumers with 0 knowledge about blockchain, why they can't withdraw holdings.
Thirdly we are going to have the chance to implement numerous systems on our chain and side chains with more ease as stable coin sidechains, registration of files and governance on-chain and many more.

Transition to the new system will happen at the start of the new year.
All mined funds will be available in the new chain.
Staking will be available to everyone.

We are open to discussion on any point.
A proper announcement will be available with the test net node.

you are reading allegations from invented arguments like prome devs want to steal metamask passwords etc,   (the only the provide is the way you can track your promethium balance in metamask like other coins/eth like ) join the discord and you can see with your own eyes how devil the promethium community are.
the truth is some of the banned guys not all but some of them had 1 week or more days to setup everything but they didnt did it. and with hours for the launch they want everybody leave what we are doing to give to them all the attention. me and others dont have any problem to help to everybody but not with this behaviors and requests with some aggressiveness.
some miners come later and we help and keep helping new users/miners. if you are educated and respect others users you the community will help you. and is not about success is about education. some guys think that every discord channel is a ghetto where they can make whatever they want.

The algorithm is brand new and we are finishing up the implementation as we speak we are also getting the miner preparations up.
It is a CPU/GPU minable algorithm. NO FPGAS and definitely NO ASICS.

In nature, Promethium is a chemical element with the symbol Pm and atomic number 61. All of its isotopes are radioactive; it is extremely rare, with only about 500–600 grams naturally occurring in Earth's crust at any given time.

On-chain, the Promethium coin represents the people's money(PM) as it is based on fair distribution and steady inflation. Without a single coin pre-mined, no ICO or any other fundraising.

Promethium coin aims to be a global currency representing also as a store of value by unifying APIs, from virtual goods such as artwork, music, game items to 3rd party applications.

Mining:
We have chosen to implement a new proof of work algorithm called Promethium-Loaded-Hash (PLHash).
PLHash is very similar to a brand new approach to proof of mining algorithms by Jeffrey Emanuel * but with some differences.

We use only the 512 outputs and add reverse replication in two of the passes that are needed, the passes are  SHA256+rev, SHA512, SHA512, BLAKE2S+rev, BLAKE2B.
We also chose to do simple arithmetic on the final hash A+B-C*D/E instead of a multiplication of all the resulting hashes.
Forks may update the pool of math functions used(we will start the network with 100) that will make the production of ASIC machines impossible and will keep the network as decentralized as possible. More info on that on the medium article.
Our goal is to keep the mining in a decentralized manner and as much as possible more GPU friendly.

This mining algorithm along with the 51% protection (inspired by Horizen) and the node maturity engine, will ensure that the network stays attractive for our main target group which is the average user with a GPU that would like to create some value with his machine or interact with other users and trade value and stay safe from the known attacks.



Wallet:
Via the wallet that represents the core application of the chain, the user will be able to connect with other peers and transact or trade goods with safety via the provided APIs.
The user will be able to post offers or receive offers from other peers and interact on those via a secure escrow system handled by the smart contracts.
On top of that, an alias system unique for each user will be applied so that reviewing and rating can be applied to users(vendors).

In the first release of the wallet application trades will be only available for the APIs that the smart contract support and can evaluate.

With the addition of the sidechains, nodes will eventually be rated and have a maturity time on the network to ensure a healthy decentralized community. Honest nodes that will stay active over a threshold of time will have the ability to share the blockchain while newcomers will have to depend on the boot nodes and the honest nodes to get the chain data.
This will ensure that Sybil attacks are not possible and there will be no need to add master nodes to secure the chain later on.

Finally, a stable coin pair will be introduced in the second quarter of 2020 based on side chains, with the ability for every wallet to mint directly Promethium-Coin to Promethium-USD and Promethium-EUR (more pairs are planned) so that users can more convenient manage they're incomes and savings.
