On Blockchain, Gamers Could Actually Own Their In-Game Items

Developers of games on Steam are forced to use the Steam Wallet for in-game transactions. Logical though it may be, it’s an unsavoury centralization of what has grown to a huge market in the gaming world.

At the end of the day, Steam can lock access to your in-game assets at whim. It’s right there in their subscriber agreement:

“Your license confers no title or ownership in the Content and Services.”

This includes not just the games you buy, but every single transaction you make inside it; essentially, at no point do your in-game items or games belong to you.

Not to be alarmist, however, as it is not commonplace for Steam to go around repossessing user-owned assets — it wouldn’t be the most effective consumer relations strategy — but the status quo is certainly cause for unease.

Hey everyone, I wanted to follow up on my past post here and say that Qlear is officially taking the next steps to step outside of gaming industry and truly utilize their potential in a variety of vertices. A few days ago a new I posted here that MPC has so many possibilities and they must have seen it or already had this in mind. The most recent blog post titled “Beyond Gaming” goes in depth on how they are going to be pursuing Medical Services, Real Estate and Data Protection (GDPR) and more. I consider this a huge step forward for the project and look forward to seeing what happens from here on out. Qlear was mentioned in a "Crowdfund insider" article yesterday and I wanted to share it with the community. The article talks about gaming, how Qlear blockchain will improve the industry and even its effects on the developers of games, but what I found most exciting was that the authors opinion on the potential of Qlear Protocol. He writes

"This, for me, is the most promising of the startups that I have seen in this space. Qlear has some unique technology towards the gaming end in multi-party computation, but its platform shows a staunch commitment to decentralizing the whole process. A secure environment for games and affiliated user content with the bulk of the power handed to the players."

This is no shock to me and it is great to see the project get the recognition that it deserves. Right now MPC is a huge deal and has numerous applications throughout the tech space but most are speculative. Finding a POC and persuing it will be huge for the whichever company is able to. I look forward to seeing what the protocol does with the tech and how gaming will benefit from it.

I can say one thing, the whitepaper is well-written here.
And online gaming is really a good venture to explore with and the potential is immeasurable.
But this kind of industry is shrouded by doubt of so many issues in terms of gaming concerns such as violence, cyberbullies, privacy issues and many others.
Let's see how qlear will address even few of those concerns and make this a fair online gaming for most of users.

Yeah, the sustainability of Token (an initial) / coin depends on how much and how fast the token is in the exchange market. I hope this is a priority.
