You can now scan QR codes directly from HTML5 at ResponsePay on iOS6 iPhone.

Time Zone selection is now working and enabled, you can choose yours in "My account"

I'm going to investigate what the problem might be. It's probably related to running two certificates on a single IP address.

Negatory.   Shows *.walletbit.com for the certificate issued to when accessing https://responsepay.com from my Android.

Could the account allow me to set locale so that I can specify how transaction history should show the dates?  Right now it shows UTC, I'm presuming.  I might want them to correspond with my timezone rather than UTC.

Added a secondary SMS number for incoming request, for load balancing.

While we wait on "native" integration on the iPhone for scanning QR codes from a website, I had a bright idea. You are now able to scan QR codes directly from ResponsePay on every device out there. See if it works for you by going to Payment address -> Send Bitcoins -> Scan QR code. And clicking on Scan QR code.

I think this would be best... then people wouldn't feel trapped in.  Also i would export it to my desktop wallet so I could spend without having to drag out my phone, but also have the mobile ability as well (this is how I use blockchain.info's MyWallet too.

No scanning QR codes from iPhone do not work yet. You cannot export private keys but you can import them soon, in fact might be a pretty good idea to be able to export them, I will look into this.

The fee is "only"  0.0005 BTC sending to email, bitcoin address or mobile number if registered in ResponsePay, though if you add bitcoin from a remote bitcoin client, WalletBit fees and confirmation time may apply.

Cool. It would be extremely cool if one could not only receive bitcoins by sms, but also send bitcoins by sms.

Also, I would suggest that you remove the fee for now. I think it's a better strategy to grow your userbase now, and then you can introduce the fee when you actually have significant volume.

This is one of the things, that I think will make ResponsePay unique.

When you click offers in your dashboard, you will be shown a list of offers nearby in your area. This works by allowing the phone to share it's location. Merchants are then able to push out offers for a predefined area including the latitude and longitude of their current shop location. And if you happen to be in this area and using ResponsePay, your phone will receive this push notification in the offers section. The offers could be anything from a coupon to savings on food even local bitcoin trading.

Oops, academic anyway for me, as I just checked my Google Voice number (the one my only mobile phone, my iPod Touch, uses, LOL) and found that network isn't supported.

There might be issues with StartSSL on some mobile devices. But it should be safe to continue, as long as it says  responsepay.com in the address field.

If someone can send an SMS, then that means they have at least GPRS (the 2G data service that is part of GSM). GPRS can handle webpages that are not content rich.

Still, you are right. Bitcoin via SMS is an essential service.

I agree.  SMS as a push transaction is ideally suited for bitcoin, which is also a push transaction.  And 3G/Wifi is not always available, even if you do have a smart phone.  

I think there is a very good future for SMS wallets, and people would pay for the convenience.  When roaming it will be much cheaper to use an SMS than the carrier roaming data plan.

A *free* SMS service might be too expensive to offer,

But, ... you can charge fees.  So what if it takes 5 texts back and forth to send money, at $0.04 each (which is way high, I believe, but works for my argument), that's $0.20 max per transaction and still cheaper than M-PESA, etc.

There will be someone who builds this.    The opportunity is open to all -- including ResponsePay.

Think name similarity to bit-pay makes more harm than good. Instead of getting piece of bit-pay fame for free, it really feels like fake copy of the real thing.

Imagine if there was new payment processor in ebay. You won your auction and clicked a link to to pay through "PaycPal.com". It would feel like scam to me.

What is delivered in the text message is a link to claim the bitcoins sent (as far as I could tell from reading it).   That still requires data service. 

What is needed for developing countries (and for frugal people in developed countries) is a method to transact solely with SMS / text messaging -- like what Coinapult does for their SMS Wallet, but globally (Coinapult only service mobiles in U.S. and Canada due to SMS / text messaging fees.

An interactive voice response (IVR) system that complements an SMS / text messaging based wallet (i.e., subscriber can use either) would be useful for developing countries as well, I presume.

I can remember a few weeks ago, everyone was saying that such a service will be needed for the developing countries.
I guess at the moment you don't have SMS local numbers in different countries. Do you indent to add those once your service will be heavily used?
