Used this miner for a day to test it out, Ive used several. This one is Very easy to use but one caveat it just shuts down when it wants to. Try to open the program and I cannot get it open. Tried XMR stack and even though you gotta pay a little fee it is flawless and always works for me. So just my opinion if you cant get an Easy Gui Miner to work dont be discouraged and go with XMR stack and follow the directions it is command line but VERY if not Easier to use than Sumo for me just letting people know. The walkthrough for the xmr stack works flawless and I have intermediate computer experience.

SUMO EASY MINER - v0.1 BETA 1.3

This is probably the world's most easy and intuitive CPU miner created by Sumokoin dev team. The miner is mainly for those who want to start mining Sumokoin (SUMO), yet you can freely use it to mine any cryptonote-based cryptocurrencies like Monero (XMR), Aeon (AEON), Boolberry (BBR), DigitalNote (XDN) etc by just adding new pools.

The miner includes almost all features you may dream about for a mining software like changing number of threads (i.e. CPU cores used), CPU priority, pool info/config on the fly. It can save status and restart from the point you left when quitting and not to mention nice real-time graphs incorporated into an extremely intuitive GUI.

F.A.Q.

1. Why did your team create a miner while there are many others already out there?

- Sumo Easy Miner is created for everyday people who want to start mining Sumokoin (SUMO) and other cryptonote-based cryptocurrencies like Monero (XMR), Aeon (AEON), Boolberry (BBR), DigitalNote (XDN) etc. without any hassle. The team found a number of GUI miners out there but all of them are either not user-friendly enough or not open enough in our opinion.

2. How good the miner in comparison to popular command-line CPU miners?

- In hashing speed, it's comparable to the famous Cpuminer client but slower than Stak (xmr-stak-cpu). However, Sumo Easy Miner can hardly freeze or crash your computer if you don't try to overuse it. We can say that it's very stable though only a beta software.

3. What is the best setup to fully utilize the miner?

- Because you can change number of mining threads and CPU priority on the fly, you can easily find the best setup for your own machine. Sometimes, selecting all cores for mining may not result in the best performance especially when CPU HyperThreading is enabled. If you want to use computer for other jobs along with mining, "Idle" priority would be your best friend.

4. Does the miner work with GPU?

- No. It's a pure CPU miner. We think that GPUs require advanced programming and are too diversified to support properly in a simple, easy-to-use GUI software so no plans for supporting them (yet)

5. How can I remove default Sumokoin pool?

- Default pool is not removable, yet you can always hide it like any other pool.

Hi. You should consider to add this new coin and algo to your cpu miner software:
Yenten is a cryptocurrency of the cpu, by the cpu, for the cpu. No ASIC mineable.
Algorithm:  YescryptR16 (GPU is slower than CPU)

May I ask if I can mine this with my laptop?

Why not?

Your laptop has a cpu and it only asks for a cpu. Even the oldest and crappiest ones can mine.

But i should warn you, it would probably give the very little outcome.

Nice tool, but how do I set up only cores and no threads to mining? If I just set 8 threads instead of 16 (Ryzen 7), the program takes 4 fisical cores and 4 logical threads and the performance is really low comparing to xmr-stak... thanks

Now I have python 2.7 installed in the system and I like to compile this library for python 2.7? I guess the error is for python 2.7? Or any other reason? I like to solve this problem as soon as possible and start mining sumocoin.

I have a current mining set up for Ethereum for the last 7 months or so (6 rigs), and on the off chance that putting the CPUs to work could add another revenue stream, I've tested out Sumokoin's CPU miner.

I'm using an Intel Pentium G4620 https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819117736, getting 57.56 average H/s.

So not that profitable, but between all 6 rigs it's about ~30-35 coins a month. So something at least. My question or issue is however, when the CPU miner is running it is also pulling on ALL my GPUs hashrate. I'm not getting the benefit of the hashrate, but it drops my GPUs current hashing performance (30 MH/s on average per GPU), down to about ~3-5 MH/s.

So why would a CPU miner in any way affect my GPUs? And where is that hashing power being pulled from the GPUs going? Or is this just a resource issue and some how the CPU miner scripting is also pulling all available system memory? Anyone else run into this?

Your processor has 2 cores & 4 threads.  How many are selected?  Also check your cpu usage, you may find that the CPU is running at 99% & dragging the whole system.

I am running an Intel i3 7100 on this s/w.  Other machines run the same cpu so don't have much info on performance.  Don't need much of a cpu to run GPUs for mining.  Although the seems to be more ASIC & GPU resistant algorithm coins out there, VTC, VTM, AEON come to mind.

Single CPU?  Be interested in result if the s/w 'sees' the 8 threads or just the 4 cores.

Hope this will remove any doubt  Wink

I confirmed that the source code compiles and the program runs as advertised (small note: I needed to comment out "include(Cryptonite)" in cryptonight-hash-lib/CMakeLists.txt).
Now the scam accusation on this GUI miner is removed.
My doubt about Sumokoin itself still remains, though.

You're indistinguishable from a scammer because you claim your software to be open-sourced when it isn't (the source code isn't released yet, and can continue to be so indefinitely). Sad to see so many people easily get tricked by such a simple lie.

Granted, the software appears to be extremely easy to use and foolproof, but it's closed source and is likely stealing some shares under the rug, just like how MinerGate's software scams lazy and uninformed people.

This also creates the accusation of Sumokoin being a scam which already exists due to its absurd premine and unjustified emission curve.
