Preceded by Mr. Vulpes' thoughtful perlustration on the current state of bitcoin bloat, the raucous #b-a crew set sail for warmer waters.
The (regrettably named) Bitcoin Foundation was coronated in exiguous ceremony, as with many great things borne in #b-a. There's already quite a bit of progress to date. It should be interesting to see how this develops and if the de-crufted bitcoin core gains popularity within the mining community.

Notwithstanding the appalingly poor quality of the original code drenched under all that ulterior cargo cultism and “lookma!Impatchsubmitting!”-ism, there is still plenty of hope that an actual Bitcoin reference implementation may eventually emerge from all these joined efforts. I, for one, am cautiously optimisitc...."
