I think that 100% of such ICO is a scam. Before you invest in any project you need to study it very well. Very sometimes difficult to determine the Scam project. In recent years more and more Scam, even the managers of the bounty with the legendary statuses can be mistaken when working with a dishonest ICO project.

Yes, there are a lot of fake ANNs out there, and it's become pretty commonplace lately. People are always looking for new ways to scam others, and you should ignore such posts as much as possible.

If you want to participate in or invest in ICOs, you really need to do your own research. Look into all the details. Make sure they have both a website and a whitepaper and that THEY MAKE SENSE. Really think about if blockchain is a good solution for whatever problem they are trying to solve. Look into the team members: There's a lot of ICO scams that use fake pictures and fake Linkedin accounts. Read legit, impartial reviews about the ICO, and not just people posting on the forum for the signature campaigns. Ask questions, etc.

If you do those things, it's a lot easier to find the legit ICOs and weed out the bad ones. It's your money, make sure you protect it.

Of course you need to beware of such investment projects, you need before you join ISO, you need to study the project and information about authors more happily. All have the right to create a topic, but now many abuse it to earn merit.
This post is only marginally better than those stupid "great project" posts, as it says nothing at all.  People aren't creating ANN threads to earn merits--people are just stupid enough to give them to the thread starters for some reason.

I'd also point out that the "thread fakes" are against the rules to begin with; the problem is well-known; and there's no need for this thread.  If OP ever read anything in Meta, it would be clear that these are posts made to bump the ANN thread and that people get paid to do it.

Did you even read the OP?  He was asking about all the thread-bumpers, not about scammy ICOs as far as I can tell.

Did you notice that there are many fakes in ANN threads? Newbies with 1 activity which posts "good project" and so on. Is this normal practice or should i ignore such ICO's?

I think ther recommendation is that you should report such posts. I think that ICOs may have run their course, and it may be better to avoid the whole concept as a waste of time and/or money.
