Thanks :-)

The new account is for the 'brand', and also useful to have a company account I can hand over as we grow...

tibdit is ecstatic to announce the general availability of our beta, bitcoin-only pilot for our microdonations and micropayments solution.

WORDPRESS BLOGGERS: we have a [beta plugin] for you to try.

Unlike many other microtipping platforms, we don't say you can send a tib to anyone, and then expect the recipient to sign up to our service just to collect the 20c or whatever you sent.  That approach often leads the tip being returned as undeliverable at some later time, and corresponding reduction in use.  To receive tibs, a 'tibbee' first publishes a link to our platform on their site - typically as a branded button, but it can be just a text link.

The biggest departure is that tibdit does not register recipients.  At it's simplest, all that a potential tibbee wishing to collect tibs needs to do is link to our our service in the form
http://tib.tibdit.com/t/[bitcoin_address]
Anyone with a tibdit account ('tibbers') can then, with just one more click, send a microdonation of an amount they have previously specified.  Of course, we also support a callback mechanism so tibbees' sites can respond however the operator wishes, which could be anything ranging from a 'thank you' message to triggering some automated service.

We have a demonstration environment that uses the bitcoin testnet, allowing both intending tibbers, and potential tibbees to experiment with our unique approach, before committing or trying to collect real money.  The demo system is at http://demo.tibdit.com and demonstrates a small number of potential use cases.

For the moment, bundles of tibs must be purchased in bitcoin.  From 19 January, tibbers will be able to purchase tib bundles using their existing credit and debit cards.  tibs can also be valued in legacy currencies (GBP, EUR, USD initially supported).  The disbursement of tibs to tibbees is always in bitcoin.  Our hope and expectation is that our product will drive adoption of bitcoin by innumerable private bloggers, independent journalists, photographers and other artists and creative types over time.

tibdit collects just 1½ pence per tib for tibs valued in GBP (BTC0.0001, $0.02½, €0.02 in the respective currencies), as the tib is paid to the tibbee.

PLEASE NOTE: Market developments have pushed us to release our product with a little more 'beta' and a little less 'polish' that we might otherwise have liked.

WE ARE VERY KEEN to assist potential tibbees to integrate our product in these early days.
