I'm never the smartest guy in the room, so I'm just gonna ask anyway: How do you ensure privacy for data being stored on the network. Last time I checked, Golem and SONM seems to be in a tussle about how to ensure data privacy if someone like Disney wants to store the files for Yoda Jr's saga.
Also, how does this decentralized internet differs from Sentivate's version?
Apologies for such a slow reply as we're not very active on btctalk. Best to join our discord https://discord.gg/CRWZ7V5
Their data would only be accessible to anyone who held the keys are was given access to it. Data will have the option to be public (viewable by anyone) and private (only accessible with a key). The data itself will be sharded across the network making it impossible for anyone to read without these keys.
Sentivate does seem to have a similar solution to UNIGRID although their white paper doesn't technically describe how they will accomplish any of this. We've purposefully held back releasing our white paper as it describes in detail with pseudo code how to build it. For one I don't see how their centralized and decentralized nodes will work. UNIGRID will be 100% decentralized and all nodes will be owned and run by individuals. We will accomplish this by having two types of nodes, normal masternodes and what we call gridnodes. These gridnodes will run on dedicated machines in data centers no different than Amazon or Google. The big difference is our network will be much cheaper to operate than the later two. Redundancy will also be extremely important as all data is sharded across the network something you don't get through Amazon or Google cloud services.
We're currently updating the wallet to be able to handle these changes as the network will need to update itself quite regularly. You can view the progress in the videos posted below.
