The new algorithm actually is working fine. It is the first step to make a monetary policy for stablecoin based only from data obtained from it's own blockchain.

Ok, it would take some time to sync the Blockchain, please check with top if the pointcoind process is active. Also check the debug.log to see if it is logging info about block.

Once the wallet has synced the blockchain it will respond to commands.

It's always a mess when someone mint at the pool with too mucho hash power. The pool was reporting not finding block some minutes ago, now it is fine again. Just was a speed mining problem.

Hi folks. Just want to comment some things about Point project

This is an open source project that aim to work as base for many types of business, one of them is a loyalty program, i which im working at. It is working as a web wallet for Point coin.

Some other projects that will be developed to work with Point coin are:

A online store to sell Point coin's - Here the miners will be able to sell their minted Point to bussines affiliated to the Points R Cool loyalty program. It will be online in the next week's

A travel reward agency - It is in developmente for Colombia and Panama market.

A payment gateway - To send money inside Paraguay and México and betwen other countries in a near future.

A social network - In which every time you make a "Like" you give 1 Point coin to the author of the post or comment, acting too as a web wallet.

Why am i telling you this? Well, because yes, the coin was developed with business in mind, but not in the way all new crypto coins do. It was conceived as a work source, where miners can get retribution for their work and investment, selling their minted Point coins to business, who gives Point coins to their customers making promotions to reward their loyalty, customers who buy products and services from business accepting Point coins as a total or partial payment method.

There wasnt Initial Coin Offer (ICO) so nobody have funds to speed the development of Point coin utilities as Windows, Mac, Android or iOS wallet's ,so it will be released as soon as me and the people who contribute to it's development can.

Today, Point coin is mined by some people from México, Colombia, USA, Japan and Rusia and i'm sure they know why, some of them have compiled their own core wallet and others are mining at the Points R Cool Point pool.

This month, some of us have started selling Point coin's directly to business by incorporating them to the Points R Cool loyalty program at a price of $0.01 USD per Point coin. In the north of México there's a established company specialized in loyalty programs who have seen Point as a way to improve it's actual program and has started the adoption process, so very soon we will see Point coin at some Mexican gas stations and fast food restaurants, and yes, they will need to buy Point coins. They are not waiting for me or any Point coin project member to release a windows or mac wallet or any other utility program, they are doing it by they own and for they own loyalty program.

So, you want to make business? well, it is over the table. This is not  a mint and exchange coin, neither yesterday or today was the best moment to mint Point, the best moment for miners and when they get more block reward is in the next 15 seconds and so on.

Want a Windows or Mac wallet? well, invest some time or money compiling it, out there are thousand of programers who will be happy to do that job for a very low ammount and you will be generating work.

So, after all this, just want to tell that any help to the project is really appreciated and i will make my best effort to develop improvements as fast as i can. The Point coin Blockchain is there and is for all of you.

It's not "funny" when you can't store your coins in your own wallet, it's as someone holds your money, windows wallet needed.

Currently im mining without problems. This is a very nice project.

My laptop give me 5.50 khash/s per thread and I use two of them.

When you mint a coin, you expect to sell it, why? because you can't spend it. In fact those two are the same, in one you receive FIAT and in the other goods or services. So we want to make both of them available for Point.

Today there's only one way to sell minted coins, in an exchange, so we'll develop a platform where miners can sell its minted coins to business and people.

So tell me, why business will buy point coin's? That's a very good question and we developed Points R Cool reward program to answer it. With Points R Cool a business can reward the customers loyalty giving them a percentage of the customer sale in points and/or receive Points as a partial or total payment method for goods and services. So, for the loyalty program work for a business, it have to receive or buy Point coins to give to customers.

This is just the first application we have developed for Point, but soon there be some more that can make Point coin an economy ecosystem.

Provide additional services is what every coin is doing by now, and they have to make ICO's to found their projects, and a promise to be in the major exchanges to be pumped and dumped 10 feet under the ground in its market debut. That's what today a new cryptocurrency can expect as a life cycle. But i think that an exchange is not the way to be a currency, it must to be owned by people who want to spend it in the grocery, at the gym, at any commerce to pay any product or service. That's what for the additional Point coin projects will be, to incentivise the Point coin acceptance in business. Point won't to be listed for trading, not until it could be named Currency.

MANDATORY UPGRADE NEEDED

I got an error at the reward algorithm, after de blockheight 50,000 it stop generating coins, it should be start whit the proposed algorithm but something in the code failed, please excuse me in advance. It has been fixed now and is running and generating rewards fine.

ok, what's your hashrate?

Im mining with 3MH/s and just got 0.00452891 reward per block because there's somebody mining in the pool at 1.9 GH/s.

there is no error. just do not have a share

15 seconds per block. on some minutes when diff is readjusted maeby you could see even 8 or more blocks but after that maeby only one in a minute. The reward is incremental and as more time pass more coins weill be for reward and usually as on any other coin everyday is more people mining.

By the block 1,000,000 the reward will be 10 coins, at block 10,000,000 100 coins, and so on, that will let the coin price low. Low coin price, low tx fees and no need to use a lot of decimal places on microtransactions (like 0.0000589 to buy a soda)

That is only true from block 50,000 - 100,000, and then reward would be 1 for blocks 100,000 - 200,000 and so on. So it will only slow down in the early stages of mining. Block times are so fast I have mined 3000 block in 12 hours.

Well, Point coin passed it's first ASIC at 1.4GH/s. I hope it support more.

1.2GH/s, diff get up to 6 in less than a minute and when miner stop get back to diff 0.5 in les than 2 minutes with 400MH/s in the pool.

They stopped mining at 400MH / s, there were no delays in transactions and the difficulty is again less than 0

Ok, right now there's someone mining at 400MH/s , it's a good starting test for Point coin. Some minutes ago someone mined at 100MH/s and the diff get low again quickly.

Today there are very low cost ASIC miners por SCRYPT algorithm, so is easy to buy a mine a coin with more than 400MH/s, just one of this miners could increment the coin difficulty to a high levels so small miners will take days or even week's to mine a block and if this happen the transactions will be stopped until de difficulty get down.

Right, sound funny, but let's see what's happen after block 50,000 where the block reward down's to 0.5, i don't think it could be a good idea spend 1,000 watts of energy cost to mine a coin, but a 100Watt 6Mh gridseed blade or even a PC could be.

It's not in a near future to be listed on exchanges, it's not an ICO so there no way to pay for exchange listings. Instead the efforts should be set on make business accept the coin.
