Just want to clarify on this. We had announced the main net going live on our discord. We made a point for no one on the dev team to mine at all in the beginning stages of launching this project.

So it appears that the premine of 6% is not the only pre-ANN-mining....
Block 2, the first _mined_ block, was mined on August 27th, but the ANN was not posted until August 30th. Looks like the dev got just over 3 days of mining in before letting others jump on the network.

Remix runs cryptonote, so no masternodes.
I known that there are several projects, which use cryptonight algorithm (forks from Cryptonight in order to be ASIC-resistant) implement Service Nodes on their networks.LOKI, and Saronite are one of case studies.
There are probably more projects which I have not known.
One of our biggest goals with Remix is to maintain community voice and complete decentralization. Masternodes can present a threat to decentralization, so they are not on the roadmap at this time.

Which mining pool was this on? Often times the blocks need to mature for a fixed number of blocks before the mining pool payouts process.

Thanks to the devs being very active and responsive on the discord and looking into the Win7 remixd issue, that turned out to be a non-issue really. Used n2.remixcoin.io nodes to sync. n1.remixcoin.io is also out there.

Something is screwy with running the cli wallet on Windows7. Maybe it's just my Win7, I don't know. I've been mining to a wallet address that I generated using the cli wallet on Win7. The node wasn't running, as documented in my earlier post about the invalid hash for blocks 0-255. Anyway, my attempt to use the key files generated on the Win7 box on the properly running Win10 node+cli wallet produced a weird result - the wallet opened, but showed a zero balance, and no transactions. Very strange. I had verified a mining tx using the block explorer when I first started mining, so I didn't think there was a problem at the pool end. Anyway, I recovered the wallet from the mnemonic seed on the Win10 box and that worked fine.
I don't know what the origin of these issues is, but it seems there's a real problem with running the tools on Win7 (or at least my Win7 - but I run other nodes and cli wallets on Win7 just fine).

new info - remixd is syncing successfully on a Windows 10 box. The error I described previously was on a Windows 7 box. Not sure why I cannot get it going on the Win7 system. Not an urgent issue, but if the devs know what this might be related to, let us know.

Not really, monero being clone of remix fits ur definition of clone better. I have trouble understanding why we talk about i2p. Its not about i2p nor about onion obfuscation, its pure ring signatures thing which is the gimmick of ancient times. Needs to purge half of the altcoin board, this way we can filter out all the indistinguishable noise and get a sort of distinction between coins.

Lots of stuff planned. I2P, voting systems, integrated payment gateways, atomic swaps, etc. It also uses CN Heavy which is more ASIC resistant.

It exists in every arena, every industry, every field, leading to innovation, new and exciting breakthroughs, all while advancing technologies, raising them to new heights. Competition is essential in product evolution, improving everything from quality of contribution to market visibility and awareness. Competition promotes industry through ongoing research and inspection. The results of healthy competition are crucial in allowing end users alternative solutions to existing problems and impediments, while pushing existing suppliers to improve existing methodologies and solutions in order to pioneer new and better technologies.
It is said that imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. With the project’s justification rooted in the need for healthy competition to advance innovation in the existing privacy oriented currencies, this project was born as a clone of Monero v0.11.0.0, where a bit of development by our team initially took place relative to the loose requirements for a small bounty project, but our work refused to stop there.
That very same group of individuals decided to continue their research and work together, believing that certain variants of Monero (XMR) were failing to provide viable contributions to either the parent project, the fork, or any of the communities and contributors involved. Regardless, we found ourselves in a position where our team genuinely wanted to continue improving upon what had already been built, but also have the ability to investigate and introduce our own innovations while allowing the community to openly, freely, actively contribute to the project as well.
With that being said, we would like to introduce Remix (RMX) as a currency and community we believe builds upon Monero (XMR) logically, philosophically, keeping true to core tenants and the general spirit of Monero while identifying, developing, and integrating improvements and optimizations that allows Remix to distinguish itself from Monero without disrupting it, or its community, by making slight modifications to XMR as a currency and simply relabeling and repackaging accordingly.
There is No promise of the monetary moon and no promise of flawless products. We will have setbacks, and issues will occur. If you seek only economic gain, please look elsewhere. What we can offer you, however, is a group of highly motivated individuals interested in furthering privacy focused currency technologies through process driven results relative to our ongoing conversation with the community and contingent upon actual community consensus.
Remix is a community driven project where development milestone selection will have community input. Community voices will be heard, and following feasibility studies and report outs, features will be either developed or deferred.
We ask for any interested community members to join us as volunteers, developers, investors, evangelists, and critics, seeking to further privacy centric P2P currency technologies during the growth of this project.
